Texas Duty to Warn Safety Mailing Program Has Closed for Heating Season 2021-2022

The 2021 Duty to Warn Safety Mailing Program from the Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) experienced abnormally high demand during this year’s program. The Texas Duty to Warn program has grown by 110% since its inception in 2007. During this 2021-2022 heating season, the program is distributing over 245,000 safety brochures to Texans this heating season (registered by the program deadline). The program is closed for winter 2021-2022 season.

The program provides Texas propane providers an economical way to get much needed safety information to their propane customers as well as providing sufficient documentation that they educated their customers with important valuable safety information.

Did you miss the Texas Duty to Warn Program deadline of December 3, 2021, to participate for winter 2021-2022? No problem, the program will reopen in September 2022 for heating season 2022-2023.

New Book by Prominent Propane Industry Professional Gets Released

“Twelve years in the making ... a labor of love,” states Joe Armentano, CEO of Paraco Gas Corporation, about the release of his new book: A Helluva Ride: How a father-son family business overcame crisis to achieve the American dream.

Started by his father, Pat Armentano, in 1979, Paraco is the largest independent propane marketer in the Northeast with 425 employees and 28 locations.

In addition to heading up the family propane business, Joe has been President of the New York State Propane Gas Association (NYPGA), served on the board of the National Propane Gas Association, and was past Chairman of the Propane Education & Research Council.

Armentano describes the book as filled with inspiring and entertaining stories of his journey in a family propane business. Business and life lessons leap off the pages that will make you think, laugh and cry.

“Over the course of 18 years, I’ve had the pleasure to meet many multi-generational families preserving the history of their propane businesses, each with their own story of entrepreneurship. The Texas propane industry grew in its infancy to what it is today because of great families like Joe’s. Having known Joe and his family for many years, I look forward to reading his family’s

history. I’m confident you, too, will enjoy reading the challenges and joys of maintaining a family business,” TPGA Executive Director Bill Van Hoy said.

Pre-order the signed copy of the book at https://joearmentano.com/shop/. A portion of the proceeds from the book is going to The Boys and Girls Club of America, an organization close to Joe’s heart.

Is the missing piece worth THE RISK

Other propane owners have come to our agency to get help with connecting their insurance pieces:

1) Some have grown frustrated with the lack of timely response and personal service from their current agent. 2) Many have discovered a missing piece of coverage after meeting with us.

3) Most tell us they have no idea what companies insure their industry and are surprised to learn there are multiple options available.

Keep Golfing Through the Winter with Golf Cart Heater

While Texans often second-guess themselves for their choice in location in August (we chose this?), it is often November and December that they pat themselves on the back. There are few weather limitations in Texas in the winter, save a few storms here and there.

In fact, golfing in Texas during the winter could prove to be even more comfortable than mid-summer. For golfers who want to extend their playing season in comfort even farther, there’s the Mr. Heater golf cart heater. This patented 4,000 BTU liquid propane heater connects directly to a 1 pound propane cylinder and is the perfect solution for heating in a golf cart. The unit features a wind resistant burner and pilot system for optimal heat output in windy conditions and when the golf cart is moving. It also features a unique safety tip over switch that minimizes nuisance shut-offs when driving on bumpy cart paths.
