Welcome to the Sweet 2 Scoop Southeastern Region Newsletter and to a new program year filled with exciting new opportunities and experiences for your family. I am Darlene Whittington, and I am honored and proud to be your 28th Regional Director. I am thrilled to lead an exceptional team, our Regional Executive Board, and we are ready to serve the region with excellence and efficiency. Regional Treasurer Florence Holland, Regional Secretary Sharon January, Member At Large Takeysha Lewis and our very own National President Kornisha McGill Brown are dedicated to the Southeastern Region and the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. mission. We have adopted a new logo and theme of “Together Toward Tomorrow: Lifting ALL children higher.” This theme encompasses our desire to serve, uplift, and enrich all children and to create programming geared toward producing tomorrow’s leaders. While we have been separated in many ways over the last year and a half, we have found new ways to define “together”. Prior to March 2020, together almost always meant in-person, face to face; however, together now means in person, virtual or some hybrid of the two. The Southeastern Region has found that together can be synonymous with connected and that connectedness happens in a myriad of ways. While we recently had an in-person Mothers’ Work Day where mothers across the region chose to "Educate to Elevate their Experience" in Jack and Jill of America, there are a multitude of experiences that await us, including hosting the first National Convention in the Southeastern Region in fourteen years. Our region is doing phenomenal things. The Sweet 2 Scoop, is our monthly newsletter where you will find the latest “Scoop” on all the happenings in the region. I hope that you take the information and get involved, find new programming ideas, and most importantly glean information to enhance your Jack and Jill of America, Inc. experience. I also hope that the inspiration, motivation and creativity I see as I engage with chapters across our region, you also find in the stories on our pages and it inspires you as well. May we never take for granted our ability to work, play, and live together as we move forward. Together Toward Tomorrow,

RD Darlene

The Athens Chapter doubled in size last year so they started their program year with a focus on supportive self-care and family fitness fun. After being inspired to grow in sisterhood during their retreat by SMTF Chair Karlene Kiminyo, Chapter President Michelle treated them to a DIY self-care buffet to make boxes they filled with sugar scrubs, candles, body soap, essential oils, and potpourri while each mom shared what talents and passions she hoped to share during the program year.
