I

t is with immense pride and gratitude that I present the 2025 edition of SCOPE, our beloved publication that lifts up the creativity, leadership, and service that thrives across our chapters nationwide. Within these pages, you will see cultural celebrations, educational enrichment, civic advocacy, health initiatives, and social connections—each one reflecting the best of our mission in action.

Equally important, this publication allows us to show our children that their voices, talents, and service are valued and visible. When they see their programs and achievements uplifted here, they understand that their contributions matter—not only within Jack and Jill, but in the broader communities where their leadership takes root. In this way, SCOPE becomes both a mirror and a beacon: reflecting the excellence of our children today and lighting the path for their impact tomorrow.

This publication is also a gift to our communities. It demonstrates, in clear and tangible ways, how the vision of our founding mothers continues to shape neighborhoods, schools, and institutions across the country. Every workshop, service project, and cultural celebration featured here affirms the truth that when our children lead, our communities flourish. This year, more than ever, we have been reminded that adaptation is not simply a reaction; it is who we are. Our children remain our North Star—guiding our purpose, illuminating our priorities, and reminding us always of why we gather in service and in love.

Beyond our national programs, we turn here to witness the very heart of Jack and Jill: the inspired programming born within our chapters.

From dynamic workshops to meaningful service projects, and from teen leadership development to cherished traditions for our youngest children, this book captures the breadth of our legacy and the brilliance of our future.

I extend my deepest gratitude to National Program Director Tasha Penny and the members of the National Program Committee. Their careful stewardship ensures that SCOPE reflects the richness and diversity of programming across all regions.

SCOPE is not just a publication; it is a celebration of what happens when mothers and families unite behind a common mission. It is a testament to our ability to adapt, lead, and thrive together. s I write this welcome, I am deeply moved by the extraordinary work of our mother members and your unwavering commitment to shaping the lives of our children — the future African American leaders of tomorrow. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve alongside you in this remarkable organization. The 2025 SCOPE publication is a testament to the power of our collective efforts. Within these pages, you’ll find a vibrant snapshot of the innovative and engaging programs being led at the local, regional, and national levels. From STEM initiatives and leadership development to our amplified focus on supporting ALL children and their holistic well-being, our work reflects a singular focus and a unified mission: to honor the vision of our founding mothers while securing the legacy of our future. These programs are the primary tool we use to develop our children to become future leaders through the utilization of our programmatic thrusts, JMB leadership and financial literacy modules.

The program highlights you will see in this edition, illustrate how our chapters strive to create engaging and impactful programs that not only align to our thrusts but also embrace the value of inclusion; this truly underscores the commitment to our organization’s core values. In addition to alignment, these exemplary activities consider all abilities and ensure that all children are included. Various forms of learning styles are utilized which ensures that all children are afforded the opportunity to not only participate but learn and grow. Other elements that are demonstrated in these shining programs are innovation and what we like to say - offering a “But for Jack and Jill Experience”. Many of our chapters embraced the charge to partner with National partners and/or community partners and also highlight and showcase their programs in local media outlets. Our Grade Group Programming truly embodies the heart and mission of Jack and Jill.

Jack and Jill is a sisterhood through motherhood that evolves every year as our world landscape changes. Our mothers must remain steadfast in their approach to reimagining programming for both today and tomorrow. And through it all, one truth remains clear — We Got Us. Under the dynamic leadership of our National President, Darlene Whittington, this theme is more than a slogan; it’s a declaration of our strength, our unity, and our shared purpose. It’s the heartbeat of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., reminding us that together, we are unstoppable.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Headquarters staff. Their dedication is evident in every detail, every task, and every moment of support they offer to our NEB, Committee Chairs, mother members and the organization as a whole. Their work empowers our members to elevate programming initiatives and showcase our excellence to the world.

They are a small but mighty team of unicorns, and we are incredibly fortunate to have them.

U

nder the leadership of Regional Director Joanna Bowie-Pruitt, the Central Region embraced the 2026 program year with a commitment to the theme, Empower.

Elevate. Excel. Across seven states, members united to develop leaders, celebrate culture, advocate for change, and create meaningful opportunities for children, teens, and mothers.

EMPOWER The year began with an impactful Area Workday hosted by the Johnson County Chapter (CP Ericka Duker Lewis, Chair Raquel Terry) at Margaritaville Resort. Centered on the theme, “Rise by Lifting Others: The Power to Serve,” the two-day experience brought together chapter leaders, mothers, and teens for leadership development and fellowship. Teens participated in workshops focused on mental health and identity, entrepreneurship, networking, and career readiness. A special session, “Driving While Black,” sponsored by Progressive Insurance, equipped participants with knowledge of their legal rights, law enforcement interactions, and community safety.

Area Workday also marked the launch of the Central Region View, a Lunch & Learn leadership series moderated by Program Chair Adrienne Smith. Featuring National President Darlene McGhee Whittington, National Editor Suzanne Ornelas, Past National Recording Secretaries Robin Rice Hodges and Michelle Gentry Anderson, the discussion highlighted leadership pathways and inspired members to serve boldly and intentionally.

The region continued to empower children and teens through the 7th Annual Black History Month Virtual Talent Showcase, led by Chair Candice Bailey.

With record-breaking attendance, participants from across seven states shared their gifts as dancers, musicians, entrepreneurs, athletes, and performers while celebrating Black excellence and creativity.

ELEVATE In March, Chair Kristina Anderson led the Women’s History Month program, “Centering Our Stories:

Celebrating Black Women in Underrepresented Spaces.” The virtual panel elevated the voices of trailblazing women who are leading, innovating, and creating pathways in industries where Black women remain underrepresented. Through candid conversations about resilience, career pivots, and leadership, participants gained valuable insights and resources for growth and advancement.

Central Region teens also elevated their impact through Legislative Days at state capitals in Illinois and Colorado. Hosted by the St. Clair County and Peoria Chapters in Illinois and led by the Denver, South Suburban Denver, and Greater Pikes Peak Chapters in Colorado, teens advocated for the Pink and Blue Legislative Agenda with a focus on voter education and awareness, support for the CROWN Act, and policing reform. These experiences demonstrated the power of civic engagement and youth advocacy while preparing the next generation of leaders to use their voices to create meaningful change.

EXCEL This spring, children traveled through history during two Children’s Clusters hosted by the BloomingtonNormal (CP Denise Bridges, Chair Robin West) Denver Chapters (CP Esperonda Seifert, Chair Phallon Treece, Chair Michelle Kenney). Through the theme, “A Time Machine Through Eras in Black Culture,” participants explored Black innovation, architecture, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through immersive, handson experiences. From studying Black architects during Reconstruction and George Washington Carver’s agricultural innovations to learning about Black Wall Street, Reginald F. Lewis, and financial stewardship, children were encouraged to excel through knowledge, creativity, and discovery. The experience concluded with energetic activities, including Hip Hop Yoga, that blended movement, wellness, and cultural expression.

Excellence in programming was exemplified by the Northwest Arkansas Chapter, a two-time National Five-Star Chapter and consecutive recipient of the National Best of the Best Programming Award.

Under the leadership of Chapter President Jennifer Bechet and Program Director LaNelle Owens,

the chapter has continued to set the standard for innovative and impactful programming. Through initiatives such as a community service project centered on the CROWN Act and the powerful “See Me As I Am” experience, the chapter moved participants beyond awareness and into action, strengthening empathy, leadership, service, and cultural understanding while empowering children to become advocates for themselves and others.

The Central Region also proudly launched the Michele Henry-McGee Leadership Institute for Service and Impact, chaired by Jon Porter.

The inaugural cohort will begin in the 2027 program year, establishing a lasting leadership legacy rooted in service and impact. Designed to cultivate the next generation of regional leaders, the institute will provide participants with opportunities for leadership development, mentorship, strategic thinking, and organizational service while strengthening the future of the Central Region and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. As the program year concludes, the Central Region eagerly anticipates the Teen Leadership Conference hosted by the Greater Little Rock Chapter (CP Telischa Lewis, Chair Maria Bunting Smedley, Chair Tamika Edwards). With the theme “Eras in Black Culture,” and under the leadership of Regional Teen President Addison Porter teens will engage in career exploration, mental health programming, leadership development, and networking opportunities before culminating in the Rights of Passage Gala honoring graduating seniors.

By empowering leaders, elevating voices, and pursuing excellence in all that we do, the Central Region continues to build a legacy of service, leadership, and impact. Together, we are creating opportunities for children and families to thrive while demonstrating the power of servant leadership across our region.

G

uided by Regional Director Fatimah Moody, the Mighty Eastern Region’s 61 chapters transformed the 2025–2026 programming year through leadership, service, growth, and community.

The year began at the Regional Conference in Charleston, South Carolina, where chapter leaders gathered to strengthen their skills and prepare for another impactful year of service.

Building on that momentum, families from across the region reunited in August for A Family Affair on Martha’s Vineyard, creating connections and lasting memories.

Throughout the Fall, the Eastern Region hosted four Area Workdays in Princeton, New Jersey; Boston, Massachusetts; Whippany, New Jersey; and Arlington, Virginia. Centered on the theme “When We Nourish, We Flourish: Fueling Mind, Body, and Soul,” more than 1,700 mothers, teens, and middle schoolers participated in leadership development, wellness workshops, fellowship, and community service. A highlight was the Youth Entrepreneur Marketplace, where teen and middle school entrepreneurs showcased their businesses and demonstrated innovation and creativity.

Under the leadership of RD Fatimah Moody, the region also hosted a program at Brown University for 60 Jacks and Jills. Participants engaged with Jack and Jill alumni, current Brown students, admissions representatives, and discussions about the college experience.

As the holiday season approached, the region

continued its commitment to service through the Third Annual Tennis with Santa, held in partnership with USTA. More than 100 children and teens enjoyed tennis instruction while collecting toys for the Boys & Girls Club, helping provide holiday gifts throughout the community.

The spirit of growth and leadership continued into the Spring with the Inaugural Middle School Symposium in Philadelphia, providing opportunities for leadership development, personal growth, and peer connection.

The annual Children’s Cluster at the American Dream Mall further enriched the lives of our youngest members through hands-on STEAM activities and interactive learning experiences, highlighted by a special performance from That Girl Lay Lay. The year culminated with the 76th Eastern Region Teen Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, where more than 1,500 teens participated in community service, leadership development, and a college fair featuring more than 60 colleges and universities.

We proudly recognized our Best of the Best winners: Cycle 1, Nassau County Chapter, and Cycle 2, National Harbor Chapter.

From entrepreneurship and service to leadership and lifelong friendships, the Eastern Region continued creating transformative “But for Jack and Jill” experiences that broaden perspectives, unlock potential, and inspire children to lead with confidence, purpose, and excellence.

T

he Fabulous Far West Region was truly ELITE—“Empowered Leadership, Inspired to Excel”—under the motivating leadership of Regional Director Monique Arrington. Throughout the year, programming across the region reflected the values of leadership, sisterhood, service, and youth empowerment that define Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Families came together to create meaningful experiences that strengthened relationships, celebrated culture, and equipped children and teens with the skills needed for future success.

One of the year’s highlights was the Regional Conference in Cancún, where families from across the region gathered for celebration, learning, and fellowship. The conference featured inspiring speakers, leadership development workshops, and opportunities for collaboration among mothers, fathers, teens, and alumni. The conference celebrated the accomplishments of chapters and individuals whose efforts positively impacted communities throughout the year while strengthening regional unity and pride.

Super Area Work Day in Sacramento, themed “Destined to Excel,” provided another important opportunity for planning and collaboration. Leaders and members exchanged ideas, discussed innovative programming strategies, and prepared for continued chapter success. Workshops focused on leadership development, organizational growth, goal setting and engaging families through impactful educational and service initiatives. The event highlighted the dedication of chapter leaders and volunteers who work tirelessly to

support children and families throughout the region. Children’s Cluster events created joyful and enriching experiences for younger members. Through STEAM activities, oratorical competitions, and an inspiring “Night Under the Stars” featuring Black astronauts, children explored creativity, teamwork, and cultural awareness. These experiences were intentionally designed to nurture confidence, leadership, and pride in African American achievement while fostering friendships across chapters.

Teen Step Stool Chef Julian Frederick, San Diego chapter, was featured nationally during a Kwanzaa-themed mindful cooking webinar, leading families in preparing corn fritters and sweet potato cornbread with honey butter.

FWR Families created lasting memories during the annual Regional Family Trip at Lake Tahoe filled with skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and more. The 2025 Teen Conference in Pomona was equally inspiring and showcased the brilliance of FWR teens. In preparation for June 2026 Teen Conference, the Teen E-board launched the FWR Chapter Olympics, encouraging teamwork, unity, and regional pride through friendly competition. Workshops on safe driving, financial literacy, fashion and leadership are planned to empower teens to embrace their potential and continue making positive contributions.

Overall, ELITE programming was marked by excellence, innovation, and connection that continues the legacy of developing future African American leaders.

nder the MARvelous leadership of Regional Director Dr. Tamara Charity Brown and home of National Recording Secretary Tamika L. Henderson, the 33 chapters of the Mid-Atlantic Region flourished throughout the 2025–2026 program year “In Full Bloom.”

As Regional Program Chair, I was honored to help cultivate opportunities that strengthened leaders, elevated programming, and deepened collaboration across the region through trainings focused on practical application in partnership with Curriculum, We Are One and Five Star, Teen Advisors and Digital Cheetah administrators. With the support of the Regional Program Committee, diverse trainings during monthly programming meetings ensured Program Directors continued to bloom in knowledge and leadership.

Our year blossomed with MAR representation at On the Hill Legislative Summit, where Regional Teen Legislative Chair Kendall Sutton (Winston-Salem Chapter) earned 3rd Place in Teen Tank. Leadership growth continued as five exceptional mothers, “The MARvelous Collective” were selected for the Marion Stubbs Thomas Leadership Academy.

During Fall Area Workday’s “Bloom Where You Are Planted,” Mothers participated in engaging workshops focused on strengthening program foundations, integrating Curriculum and We Are One standards into chapter programming.

Regional outreach flourished through my participation in chapter retreats, individual coaching and training

and targeted Teen Advisor engagement.

Programming continued to bloom through Friendsgiving ‘s “Fall Fashion Week”, hosted by the Durham Chapter, COPA of the South’s “Winter Masquerade” hosted by the Charleston Chapter and the inaugural MAR Alumni Jingle Mingle led by National Recording Secretary Tamika and Alumni Task Force Chair Reisha. Cross-chapter collaboration thrived through events including “Welcome to the Yard” Freedom Classic hosted by Midlothian, Richmond, James River, and Tri-Cities Provisional Chapters.

Inclusion remained in full bloom as chapters intentionally expanded accessibility efforts such as the Durham Chapter’s Listening Lounge Silent Disco in collaboration with We Are One. The experience provided innovative, flexible engagement opportunities for children and mothers. The Winston-Salem Chapter showcased the creativity and excellence of our region during Children’s Cluster “Imagination Station”.

MAR National visibility grew through National Youth Trip, Chaired by Madiana, National Associates Trip planned by RAC Donna, Bedtime Stories with Father’s Auxiliary Chair Wilbur, RAC Donna, Burlington-Graham and Chapter Hill Chapter Jills Gabriella, Lydia and Addison, Culinary Mindfulness and support of the Monks’ Walk for Peace.

We look ahead to continued growth at the MAR Leadership Summit and the 73rd Annual Teen Conference, “The Pink and Blue Print.”

T

he Mighty Mid-Western Region continues its commitment to excellence by “Leading with Heart, Leaving a Legacy” under the visionary leadership of Regional Director Kassandra Hayes. Our 41 chapters have embraced the charge of creating programming that not only educates our children but fills their hearts and souls.

We began the year with momentum at our annual Leadership Summit, where National Treasurer Deidre S. Lindsey inspired chapter officers to “Lead from the Inside Out.” Leaders strengthened their skills while gaining tools for stress management and relationship building—setting a powerful tone for the year ahead.

Our teens then took center stage at the 71st Mid-Western Region Teen Leadership Conference at Western Michigan University. Under the theme “Empowerment Through Unity: Stronger Together,” more than 800 teens engaged in transformative leadership development through plenaries, service projects, legislative rallies, talent showcases and oratorical competitions. Workshops ranged from culinary mindfulness to mental health, strengths exploration, and a signature entrepreneurship workshop in partnership with Aimly. For the first time, TLC featured two RTO-led workshops—one focused on leadership as a Jack and Jill teen and another exclusively for graduating seniors.

At Mothers Regional Conference in Hilton Head, South Carolina we celebrated programming excellence during the “Black Excellence” Awards Luncheon. Congratulations to the North Shore Chapter

for earning the 1st Place MWR Ruby Programming Award for 2025.

Area Workdays continued the momentum with programming rooted in “The Power of Love, Leadership, & A Legacy of Service.” Mothers, teens, and dads participated in workshops on leadership, inclusion, advocacy, mindfulness, and health. Thanks to our partnership with Progressive, mothers and teens received impactful training on driver safety, insurance, and legal rights.

In March, five Children’s Clusters brought the theme “The Future is Now” to life through interactive workshops on Afrofuturism, AI art and advocacy, and STE[A]M—empowering our youngest members to imagine bold futures.

RPC Tamia Collins McGuire & RCC Rashida Downing partnered with RMC Shanta McMullen to educate our new members in the first ever MWR New Mom Webinar, “Starting Strong”.

We closed the year with excitement as the Regional Program Committee announced the first-ever MWR Emerging Leaders Tween Symposium, launching March 2027. This groundbreaking weekend will nurture leadership, parliamentary skills, and relationship building, preparing tweens for the Teen Group and TLC. Across the Mid-Western Region, we continue to lead with heart—creating spaces where families learn, lead, and grow while leaving a legacy that will echo for generations.

The 2025–2026 program year ignited in Houston, Texas, with a unifying Regional Executive Board (REB) and Regional Teen Officer (RTO) retreat, setting the stage for our chapters across Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico to lead, serve, and rise together.

Our year achieved monumental success at the 2025 Area Workday hosted by the El Paso Chapter, where regional teens assembled over 800 mid-term survival kits for HBCU students at Dillard, Grambling, Paul Quinn, and Prairie View A&M. Demonstrating our dedication to advocacy, the region made a $20,000 donation to You Eat I Eat to combat food insecurity, reinforcing our participation in the national 100,000 Hours Challenge. Civic engagement took center stage during the Louisiana Day at the Capitol, where Red River Chapter teen Elijah Brown presented House Bill 614. In March, our inaugural Her Strides for Legacy virtual walk celebrated Women’s History Month, supporting the Black Girl Ventures Foundation and JJOA Foundation, accompanied by a powerhouse regional leadership webinar.

Across the region, every Center of Excellence (COE) hosted transformational Teen Leadership Summits, including Arlington’s LEVEL UP, Southwest Suburban Dallas’s ELEVATE U, and Houston’s Unlock Leadership at the University of Houston. We also marked the year with the Dallas COE’s inaugural Jewels of North Texas Debutante Ball, seamlessly blending

mentorship with senior outreach. Meanwhile, our youngest Jacks and Jills soared at the 2026 Children’s Clusters.

The “Heroes R.I.S.E. - Powered by Purpose” theme activated children’s imaginations at KidZania, The DoSeum, and Prairie View A&M. We proudly celebrated our 88th Founders Day and honored Carole Robertson Day, highlighted by the Houston COE’s spectacular rodeo-themed celebration hosting over 1,000 attendees. This year the South Central Region introduced another groundbreaking regional initiative while fostering the continuation of another. Driven by the Careful Study of Children Task Force, the Junior Ambassador Program empowers teens to address peer mental health needs. Certified by Texas Children’s Hospital, these ambassadors serve as vital advocates and peer support. Additionally, the new COE Teen Leadership Councils (TLC) amplify teen voices, foster cross-chapter collaboration, shape programming, and serve as incubators for future servant leaders.

We concluded the year in “R.I.S.E. Mode” at the 72nd Annual Teen Leadership Conference in New Orleans, wrapping up a phenomenal week on Sunday. Hosted by the Humble-Kingwood Chapter and led by our RTOs, the “Soul of the South: Where Legacy Meets Leadership” theme featured incredible highlights, including an unforgettable Juneteenth Friday Funday at the historic Dillard University campus, a powerful legislative lunch with inspiring guests like Attorney Ben Crump, and the beautiful presentation of 165 seniors at the senior gala. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Partners with Aimly to Empower Teens Financially Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated has launched an exciting new national partnership with Aimly, introducing a dynamic series of monthly virtual workshops designed to help tweens and teens master financial literacy in fun, relatable ways.

Through the “Secure the Bag” Teen Financial Literacy Series, participants explore essential money topics that build confidence and real-world skills. Each month featured interactive sessions led by Aimly CEO Marques Zahir, covering themes such as Savings and Spending, Debit and Credit, Giving and Community Wealth, and Investing 101. Tweens and Teens learn how to budget wisely, understand credit and debt, and discover how giving back can strengthen communities while developing smart habits for saving and investing early.

The workshops used games, role-play, and creative challenges to make financial learning engaging and memorable. From budgeting competitions to fundraising pitch challenges and investment simulations, every session connected financial concepts to everyday life.

Through this partnership, Jack and Jill’s National Program Committee and Aimly are preparing youth for financial independence and leadership. Together, we are equipping the next generation to save wisely, give generously, and invest confidently—empowering teens to truly secure the bag.

National Bedtime Stories: Celebrating Literacy, Culture, and Connection During the 2025–2026 program year, the National Program Committee’s National Bedtime Stories initiative transformed monthly Storytime into a powerful platform for literacy, cultural enrichment, family engagement, and leadership development. Through thoughtfully selected books and dynamic guest readers, the series highlighted African American authors, celebrated diverse voices, and created meaningful learning experiences for Jack and Jill families nationwide.

The year began in September with a focus on wellness and mindfulness through B is for Breathe: The ABCs of Coping with Fussy and Frustrating Feelings by clinical psychologist Dr. Melissa Munro Boyd, helping families explore emotional regulation and healthy coping skills. October featured author Adrienne Barr in a special double-header, celebrating positive male role models through My Uncle the Superhero while encouraging confidence and mindfulness through Dancing with Butterflies.

In November, the initiative proudly showcased talent from within Jack and Jill of America, Inc. as Mother Carless Carrington of the Prince William County Chapter shared her book, You Name It, Gram Made It, a joyful celebration of family traditions, legacy, and community. The holiday season brought a special December edition featuring members of the National Executive Board reading The Night Before Christmas, creating a memorable experience for families across the country.

January connected literacy with service through the Souper Bowl of Caring initiative. Regional Members-at-Large read the book, What Is Given from the Heart by Patricia McKissack, reinforcing lessons of generosity and compassion, while Teen Foundation Chairs discussed philanthropy and youth engagement.

In February, the Associates Auxiliary shared Full, Full, Full of Love by Trish Cooke, celebrating the warmth of family and multigenerational connections.

March inspired civic leadership through Jade the Judge by Shequitta Kelly Joubert, introducing children to justice, fairness, and integrity. In recognition of Fathers Appreciation Month in April, the Father’s Auxiliary read I Know My Rights: Bill of Rights and The Black Crayon by Dad, Dr. V, from the Mercer County Chapter helping children explore civic awareness, self-identity, and self-confidence.

More than a reading series, National Bedtime Stories continues to be a national stage for African American authors and culturally affirming literature. By connecting families through storytelling, literacy, service, identity, and educational excellence, the initiative empowered children to see themselves reflected in stories that inspire, educate, and affirm their limitless potential.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and Fandango: Celebrating Family Through Film Jack and Jill of America, Inc. proudly continues its national partnership with Fandango, bringing families together through the joy of cinema. Under the #JJOAGOESTOTHEMOVIES initiative, chapters nationwide have enjoyed exclusive screenings and activations that celebrate storytelling, imagination, and togetherness.

This year’s lineup featured beloved titles that sparked laughter, learning, and connection across generations. Families delighted in Toy Story 5 (June 2026), rekindling the timeless bond between Woody, Buzz, and friends while exploring themes of loyalty and growth. The whimsical world of Hoppers (March 2026) invited audiences to leap into adventure and courage, while Zootopia 2 (November 2025) inspired conversations about community, diversity, and leadership. Rounding out the season, The Smurfs (July 2025) brought a burst of nostalgia and teamwork to screens, reminding families of the power of unity and joy.

Through Fandango’s partnership, Jack and Jill families experienced these cinematic moments in over 25 theaters nationwide—from regional premieres to movement challenges designed to deepen engagement and learning. These shared experiences continue to strengthen family bonds, build confidence, and celebrate the creativity that defines our community.

The National Program Committee thanks Fandango and our participating families for making each movie moment meaningful. Together, we’re not just watching films—we’re creating memories that last a lifetime.

Heart Healthy Flavors of the Soul: A Kwanzaa Culinary Mindfulness Celebration The National Program Committee continued the tradition of Culinary Mindfulness, in partnership with Chef Julian Frederick, Teen CEO of The Step Stool Chef, and brought families together for a festive Kwanzaa-inspired cooking experience that blended culture, creativity, and heart health.

Under the banner “Heart Healthy Flavors of the Soul,” Chef Julian guided families through preparing Corn Fritters and Sweet Potato Cornbread with Honey Butter— creating a soulful twist on traditional comfort food. His approach celebrated the principles of Kwanzaa, emphasizing unity, self-determination, and collective work through shared cooking and conversation.

The evening was more than a cooking class— it was a moment of reflection and connection.

Families learned mindful techniques for preparing and presenting food, discovering how intentional cooking can nourish both body and spirit.

Chef Julian’s joyful energy and storytelling embodied the program’s mission: bringing families back to the kitchen, the heart of the home.

Through this Kwanzaa-inspired meal, he reminded families that culinary mindfulness is not just about what we eat, it represents our commitment to foster and maintain unity within our own families: celebrating the flavors of our heritage.

Progressive and House of Joy Partner with Jack and Jill of America to Promote Safe Driving, Legal Awareness, and Responsible Decision-Making

hrough a powerful partnership with Progressive and House of Joy, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated delivered impactful programming across its seven regions, equipping more than 1,000 teens with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to make safe, informed decisions behind the wheel and in their communities.

While united by one mission, each region brought the initiative to life in its own meaningful way. Teens engaged in impaired driving simulations, traffic stop role plays, expert-led legal panels, community policing discussions, peer demonstrations, viral moment case studies, and QRcode-enabled digital resources. These experiences moved beyond traditional driver safety education and created real-world learning opportunities rooted in preparation, awareness, responsibility, and personal safety.

In the Mid-Atlantic Region, 160 teens and chaperones participated in a two-part “Know Your Rights” experience in Greensboro, North Carolina. The program combined hands-on impaired driving demonstrations using cycle buggies, Mario Kart, field sobriety tests, and impairment goggles with a distinguished panel of judges, law enforcement leaders, attorneys, and community advocates who helped teens better understand the legal system and their responsibilities.

In the Far West Region, 434 teens came prepared through a recorded Progressive Joy presentation before engaging in live safe-driving demonstrations led by NOBLE and the Far West teen board during the Phoenix Teen Leadership Conference. The experience reached an audience of 590 mothers, fathers, and teens.

In the Mid-Western Region, 173 teens participated in “Learn to Live” workshops focused on driving while Black, legal rights, traffic stop safety, community policing, and preparedness. Through role play, small-group discussion, and parent companion workshops, teens and families gained tools to reinforce safe decision-making at home.

Across every region, the initiative was intentionally designed to reach teens through different learning styles. Visual learners connected through case studies, videos, and digital guides. Auditory learners benefited from panels, facilitated discussion, and Q&A. Kinesthetic learners engaged through simulations, demonstrations, and role play.

This inclusive approach ensured that teens were not only informed, but actively engaged and prepared.

In the Eastern Region, 423 graduating seniors attended “Know Your Rights: Power, Presence & Protection” during the 76th Eastern Region Teen Conference. Across five sessions, attorneys and community leaders guided teens through constitutional rights, traffic stop safety, rideshare and public transportation scenarios, live role play, and

Taking the Floor and Taking the Lead:

Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

or the past two years, the National Program Committee and National Governance Committee have partnered to equip our teens with essential leadership and parliamentary skills through two dynamic training series: Take the Floor: Parliamentary Skills for the Next Generation (Spring 2025) and Take the Lead: The Power to Move Parliamentary Skills for the Next Generation (Spring 2026).

Designed for students in grades 5–12, these interactive sessions provided participants with a deeper understanding of parliamentary procedure, meeting protocols, and leadership responsibilities. Through engaging, hands-on instruction led by expert parliamentarians, teens learned how to make motions, participate effectively in deliberative assemblies, understand officer roles, and confidently engage in Teen Conference plenary sessions.

The series aligned with the organization’s Civic: Legislative Thrust, emphasizing civic engagement, leadership development, and respectful collaboration. Participants strengthened their public speaking abilities, gained practical knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order, and developed skills that will prepare them to serve as future chapter, regional, and national leaders.

A special thank you goes to the Green Gavel Electronic Unit of Parliamentarians (GGEU) for their outstanding partnership and commitment to mentoring our youth.

Their dedicated team of trainers and presenters brought parliamentary procedures to life and inspired our teens to lead with confidence and purpose.

Thanks to a generous grant from the National Association of Parliamentarians Education Foundation, eligible teen officers also received Green Gavel memberships and copies of Robert’s Rules of Order in Brief, providing additional resources to continue their leadership journeys.

Over the past two years, these training series have empowered our teens to step up, speak out, and lead with confidence. As our participants continue to take the floor and take the lead, they are demonstrating that today’s learners are truly tomorrow’s leaders.

Teeing Up for Success: High School Career Day at the Chevron Championship On Saturday, April 25, 2026, six outstanding teens had the incredible opportunity to participate in the LPGA High School Career Day during the Chevron Championship in Houston, Texas. Representing both Texas and Alabama, participants included Carrie White (TX), Madison Fleming (AL), Sue McCann (TX), Carly Hathorn (TX), Morgan Eke (TX), and Jillian Williams Mayfield (TX).

Designed for young women interested in collegiate golf and careers in the sports industry, the event provided participants with a behind-the-scenes look at the many professional pathways available in sports. Throughout the day, attendees engaged with industry leaders, learned about careers in golf administration, communications, event management, and collegiate athletics, and gained valuable insight into what it takes to succeed both on and off the course.

The experience also allowed our teens to network with professionals, ask meaningful questions, and envision themselves as future leaders in the sports industry. Whether they aspire to play college golf or pursue careers in sports management, media, marketing, or event operations, the day was filled with inspiration, empowerment, and unforgettable learning opportunities.

We are incredibly proud of these young ladies for representing our organization with excellence and for embracing this unique opportunity to explore new possibilities and expand their horizons. Special thanks to the LPGA and the Chevron Championship for investing in the next generation of female leaders and opening doors for our teens to dream bigger and aim higher.

The future of women in sports is bright—and these young ladies are ready to lead the way!

he inaugural National Jack and Jill HBCU Tour, held October 21–26, 2025, brought together 25 teens and seven chaperones from across the country for an unforgettable journey celebrating the legacy, excellence, and opportunities found at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Upon arriving in Baltimore, participants met one another, shared dinner, and engaged in a reflective discussion about their hopes and expectations for the week.

The tour began at Morgan State University and Bowie State University. Teens learned about admissions, scholarships, and Morgan’s pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement, including student-led protests, connections to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, and Frederick Douglass. The group continued to Hampton University, exploring historic landmarks such as the Emancipation Oak and the Holly Tree Inn, before visiting Norfolk State University, where teens experienced the campus’s vibrant atmosphere and showcased their own talents during an impromptu performance.

The journey continued to Virginia Union University, where several seniors received on-the-spot admissions, reinforcing the value of academic preparation. The group also visited the National Mall, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and Howard University during its celebrated Homecoming weekend. Attending the Howard University vs. Morgan State football game and halftime show provided an authentic HBCU experience filled with school pride and tradition.

During the closing reflection, many teens shared that the tour transformed their perceptions of higher education. Teens who had previously considered only predominantly White institutions expressed newfound appreciation for HBCUs after witnessing Black excellence, rich history, and welcoming communities firsthand.

As the tour concluded, lasting friendships were formed, making the inaugural National Jack and Jill HBCU Tour a life-changing educational experience.

FIFA World Cup™ Original Trophy Tour On Saturday, May 9, 2026, thirty Jack and Jill teens from South Florida chapters and participants who completed the National CARES Mentoring Modules were invited to an exclusive Community Hour during the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

entral Missouri Chapter’s Conquerors (Grades 3-5) reflected on the 250 years of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, as the United States of America celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our country. This event, “Declaration Remix: 250 Years Later,” involved reflecting on the symbolism of where the country was 250 years ago and where it is today. This was emphasized through speeches from a local state representative and the local county clerk, who reflected on our democracy and their respective role in it, and the importance of knowing history and having informed and engaged citizens. In addition, our Jacks and Jills participated in a declaration of independence themed scavenger hunt to answer clues about the declaration of independence, and they made thank you cards for military service men and women serving around the globe.

ack and Jill on Springfield’s Hill was a civic and educational advocacy initiative co-hosted by the Greater Peoria and St. Clair County Chapters of Jack and Jill, rooted in the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust, the program aligned with the Civic and Educational Development pillars by providing teens with firsthand exposure to government, advocacy,

State Senator Doris Turner, and State Representative Leader Jehan Gordon-Booth, a Greater Peoria Chapter mother. The day concluded with a presentation and Q&A led by Martin V. Torres, Deputy Governor for Education, encouraging teens to become informed, engaged, and impactful leaders within their communities.

MOCK TRIALS. THE CASE OF TEXTING WHILE DRIVING

n this engaging courtroom experience, our Sr. Teens stepped into the roles of attorneys, witnesses, and advocates as they explored the real world consequences of texting while driving. Guided by a local attorney and judge, Jacks and Jills learned about legal careers and the foundations of the justice system. They then worked in trial teams to build arguments, develop direct examinations, practice cross examinations, and deliver persuasive closing statements.

This activity strengthened questioning techniques, critical thinking, oral advocacy, collaboration, and confidence under pressure. Because many Sr. Teens were new or soon to be drivers, the case connected directly to their lived experiences and reinforced the importance of civic responsibility and sound decision making. Aligned with Leadership Module #9, Communication and Listening, and Leadership Module #16, Legislative, this program helped teens lead with clarity, conviction, and a deeper understanding of law and voice.

n MLK Day 2026, the St. Clair County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. partnered with the Urban League’s Metro East Division for a powerful, immersive Poverty Simulation. Honoring Dr. King’s Poor People’s Campaign, the event engaged families in navigating systemic economic inequities, successfully activating all five National Programmatic Thrusts.

Participants assumed real world personas, like one parent households or seniors facing sudden job loss, while tackling community stations with scarce resources, rigid policies and strict deadlines. This hands-on challenge forced tough survival decisions, exposed institutional barriers and highlighted the intense mental and physical toll of poverty.

Designed for all learning styles, the experience culminated in a community reflection linking the exercise to modern equity advocacy. Families concluded the day by donating essential hygiene and cleaning supplies to the Urban League, empowering a new generation of socially conscious youth leaders.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s enduring legacy, chapter children, families, and community members united around a shared commitment to equity, civic responsibility, and compassion.

BALTIMORE, MD Partnering with 13 area Black Student Unions and organizations, the chapter engaged youth across all grade groups in an interactive exploration of Dr. King’s speeches while collecting essential goods for Morgan’s Food Resource Center, which provides food, clothing, and other essential resources to students and surrounding communities.

EASTERN FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CT

n January 19, 2026, our Community Service Committee hosted a chapter-wide event to encourage literacy, learning, and a love of reading across Fairfield County, CT. In partnership with the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club Southport Keystone Club, our Jacks and Jills built three Little Free Libraries to provide children and teens with access to free books. The Little Libraries are scheduled to be installed at the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club Madison Avenue Clubhouse, the Boys & Girls Club of Danbury, and the Sterling House Community Center. We also conducted a book drive to fill the three libraries, and collected, logged, and organized 556 books for all ages. The second component of this initiative is “Voices of the Pen,” a year-long author series designed to highlight diverse authors of children’s literature. Through our focus on literacy, we are strengthening our community, one book and one reader at a time.

Together, attendees assembled 600 laundry packets and donated hygiene and household items valued at $4,783.36, including over 12,800 dryer sheets, 681 bars of soap, and nearly 2,000 laundry pods. The event exemplified the chapter’s mission: inspiring the next generation of leaders through meaningful service.

ovember 17–22, 2025, the Essex Hudson Chapter mobilized for its Week of the Great Give, a chapter-wide service initiative led by the newly formed IMPACT Task Force (Intentionally Making Progress And Change Together). In response to the November SNAP funding crisis and growing economic hardship across Essex and Hudson counties, families united to support neighbors through service, education, advocacy, and giving. Partnering with Hoboken Community Center, Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation, St. James Social Services, and Epiphany & Christ Church, members donated food, clothing, diapers, hygiene products, and household essentials. Families gave financially and volunteered in ways that reflected their capacity — stocking shelves, organizing donations, serving meals, and supporting outreach. Essex Hudson teens extended the chapter’s impact through a dedicated day of service in Orange, New Jersey. The chapter also created and circulated an IMPACT Resource Kit featuring donation guidance, local resources, and tools for discussing food insecurity with children.

he Greater Pocono Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. proudly hosted the 2nd Annual “Unifying the Community: We Are One” Autism Awareness Walk and Fundraiser at East Stroudsburg University.

This impactful community event brought together families, educators, healthcare professionals, community organizations, and advocates to increase autism awareness, promote inclusion, and connect families to valuable resources.

The event featured a community walk, educational panel discussion, sensory-friendly activities, STEM stations, vendors, and interactive experiences designed to support and celebrate individuals with autism and their families. Through partnerships with local organizations, sponsors, and volunteers, the chapter created a welcoming environment focused on education, advocacy, and empowerment.

The fundraiser successfully strengthened community partnerships while highlighting our chapter’s commitment to service, family support, and meaningful community impact. The event also provided opportunities for youth leadership, volunteerism, and civic engagement for Jack and Jill families and teens.

he Jersey Shore chapter honored the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through a transformative National Day of Service takeover at Lunch Break. Families across generations united to support every aspect of the organization’s operations. Young Jacks and Jills applied budgeting skills to assemble nutritious meal kits for families in need, while middle schoolers created snack bags filled with handwritten messages of encouragement. Teens stocked pantry shelves and uplifted guests through spoken word and musical performances. Fathers managed warehouse operations and produce intake, while Mothers led dining hall service with warmth and hospitality. By stepping in for the day, the chapter ensured uninterrupted care for more than 1,000 families while giving Lunch Break staff a moment of respite. The event beautifully demonstrated that leadership begins with service and compassion in action.

MANASSAS-WOODBRIDGE, VA

n January 18, 2026 the Manassas-Woodbridge Chapter of Jack and Jill of America partnered with StreetLight Community Outreach Ministries to support its seasonal Hypothermia Shelter in Dumfries, Virginia. The shelter operates from November through March, providing nightly meals and essential care to approximately 30 adults and families facing housing insecurity. MWC families united in service by preparing and donating nutritious meals, including entrees, vegetables, salads, and sides, ensuring guests received warm, well-balanced dinners.

Through coordinated efforts, families cooked, packaged, and delivered meals, demonstrating compassion and teamwork. This initiative not only met an immediate community need but also created a meaningful, hands-on learning experience for our children.

Jacks and Jills gained a deeper understanding of food insecurity in our community and the impact of collective action. The activity reinforced the importance of empathy, civic responsibility, and purposeful action, leaving a lasting impact on both those served and the families who participated.

his January, the Jack and Jill of America joined organizations across the region for our 12th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, themed “A New Dream Rising: Youth Voices for a Better Community.” Despite cold and inclement weather, more than 50 chapter members, from our youngest children to teens and parents, came ready to serve.

Working alongside fellow Jack and Jill members, Greek-letter organizations, faith partners, and community members, families prepared 820 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, 1,076 utensil packs for the

Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, and 1,017 snack packs for local afterschool and childcare programs. Participants also assembled 205 “Warm Hugs” care bags for organizations serving individuals experiencing housing insecurity and donated 390 toiletry bags for women escaping domestic violence.

Most meaningful were the connections formed as parents and children served side by side, strengthening bonds within both our chapter and the broader Mercer County community.

he Nation’s Capital Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day of Service through meaningful community action at Bread for the City in Southeast Washington, D.C. More than 120 mothers, fathers, Jacks, and Jills assembled 150 winter weather and personal care kits — filled with cold-weather essentials and toiletries — for community members experiencing hardship. Children and teens added handwritten notes of encouragement to each kit, reinforcing that service is about offering hope and human connection, not just meeting physical needs. Kits were distributed through two trusted partners, Bread for the City and Calvary Women’s Services, maximizing the chapter’s reach across the District. The initiative embodied Jack and Jill’s mission by engaging families in hands-on service while instilling in the next generation the values of leadership, civic responsibility, and compassion.

he Teen Group participated in Empowered & Focused: Self-Discipline and Self-Defense, an interactive workshop hosted by representatives of the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office. Designed to satisfy the Legislative thrust through leadership development, the program provided teens with a practical understanding of their constitutional rights, civic responsibilities, and the role legislation plays in everyday interactions with law enforcement. Through engaging discussions and real-world scenarios, participants learned strategies for handling police encounters with confidence, respect, and self-discipline while exploring key legal concepts such as the Fourth and Fifth Amendments, consent, warrants, and probable cause.

The workshop also incorporated a cultural component by highlighting the legacy of Glendell Hill, the first Black police officer in Manassas and later the first Black Sheriff of Prince William County. By combining legal education, self-defense instruction, and leadership skill-building, the experience empowered teens to make informed decisions and advocate for themselves responsibly within their communities.

ur senior teens embodied leadership and service by collecting nearly 200 pairs of pajamas and assembling candy bags for children and families in need. Their generosity transformed a weekend retreat into a meaningful outreach experience, proving that small acts of kindness can make a powerful difference. A special highlight was a virtual conversation with Sharon Content, Founder and President of Children of Promise, NYC, whose inspiring message deepened our teens’ understanding of compassion and service for children with incarcerated parents. Motivated by her words, our Jack and Jill teens continued their commitment through hands-on volunteer work with Children of Promise, NYC, providing tutoring, games, mentorship, and creative activities that fostered hope and resilience. Through these experiences, our youth strengthened their empathy, leadership, and dedication to community responsibility. Their service reflects our chapter’s mission to develop compassionate leaders who uplift others, build meaningful connections, and create lasting positive change.

SOUTH JERSEY, NJ

he South Jersey Chapter began the year “Striving for 25” community service hours.

That challenge quickly became a call to action and our Lords and Ladies, teen group responded by collectively amassing over 600 hours of service. In addition to weaving service throughout our chapter-wide and grade group activities, we established partnerships with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Jefferson Hospital Pediatric. We expanded our service with long-standing partners like the Salva-

tion Army Kroc Center and the Ronald McDonald House. Service became the core of our programming this year from chapter-wide service activities such as MLK Day of Service in collaboration with Gloucester Township, a local municipality to Ujima in Action, a teen grade group activity, which combined our Kwanza celebration with developing care and learning kits for unhoused families through the Center for Family Services.

n April 18, 2026, Grade Group 4 Jacks and Jills of the Contra Costa County Chapter spent the morning supporting beautification efforts at Veterans Memorial Hall in Brentwood, California. Their teamwork made a visible impact on the hall’s appearance, and they were personally thanked by a veteran. Later in

the afternoon, the group visited the Brentwood City Council chambers. Chapter Chaplain Pa’Tanisha Pierson, who currently serves as Brentwood’s first African American vice mayor, welcomed the group for a private tour and discussion about local government. The group explored council chambers and learned how council mem-

bers collaborate to make decisions that impact residents and the city government.

Each Jack and Jill had the opportunity to be “seated” on the dais as members of the city council. Vice Mayor Pierson concluded the tour by encouraging Jacks and Jills to pursue leadership and civic engagement opportunities within their own community.

FRESNO, CA

his holiday season, the Fresno Chapter partnered with the Veterans Affairs Community Service Office to honor veterans and serve the local community through meaningful acts of service. Grade Groups 1 and 2 created care packages filled with fuzzy socks and peppermint sticks to spread warmth and holiday cheer to veterans. Groups 3 and 4 personally delivered the gifts to the veterans’ home and hosted a festive Bingo activity, assisting veterans with gameplay and prizes while building meaningful intergenerational connections.

Our teens expanded their community impact by volunteering at the Central California Food Bank, helping families shop for essential food items and demonstrating leadership and compassion through service. The chapter also hosted its first Pancake Breakfast with a Soulful Santa fundraiser in support of the Foundation, featuring photos with Santa, raffles, and volunteer support from mothers and teens.

he Los Angeles Chapter celebrated Jack and Jill Day rooted in the traditions of our culture and the power of perseverance. We began with worship at Holman United Methodist Church, a pillar of the Los Angeles community for 81 years, then gathered for fellowship at the Wilfandel House, a historic civic club founded 80 years ago

by African American women. Our children enjoyed a reading corner led by our Associates and a CROWN Act display that modeled the impor-

tance of the legislation by teaching Jacks and Jills how to braid hair. Civic engagement remained at the center through age-appropriate letter-writing campaigns, inviting our youngest to our oldest members into legislative action. From multigenerational moments with our elders to worshiping and fellowshipping together, the day honored the cultural traditions that ground us—reminding every family that our heritage, our voices, and our civic duty move forward, together.

he Proud and Purposeful Pasadena Chapter celebrated its 70th anniversary with a memorable Community Impact Gala on April 18th, honoring local organizations that support families in the San Gabriel Valley affected by the Eaton/ Altadena fires. Held at the Los Angeles City Club in downtown Los Angeles, the event brought together families and community

mission to nurture leadership and community stewardship, these young members took the reins. They arrived ready to work, putting their heads together to plan their Krispy Kreme Digital Dozens fundraiser from the ground up. The Eels set a collective goal of selling 100 boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and chose a local charity

to benefit from their efforts. Their reward for such thoughtful planning was a Pajama Jam Movie Night, complete with pizza, snacks, and beverages selected to accommodate a variety of diets. With their plan in place, the Eels brought it to life, raising over $850 for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

PASADENA, CA for an evening that blended celebration, philanthropy, and community service. The gala generated $22,500 in proceeds to benefit the Jack and Jill Foundation, Greenlight Housing Foundation, and Door of Hope. We recognized the contributions of Black Freedom Fund, NCNW SGV Section, YWCA SGV and Octavia’s Bookshelf for their support of impacted families. The

dynamic “That Chick Angel” from the San Fernando Valley Chapter was our MC, and the program featured a youth band, vocalist Yvette Cason, a touching anniversary video, and tributes to past Chapter Presidents and Associate Jewels.

The evening beautifully reflected our commitment to service.

SAN DIEGO, CA “Sneaker Soirée: Where Art Meets Sole,” the ultimate Black Family Day and Teen Banquet Remix was held at University of San Diego’s picturesque campus.

his signature event unified two of the chapter’s most meaningful year-end experiences into one cohesive celebration, creating an engaging day of fellowship, culture, service, and recognition.

n November 16, 2025, GG3 participated in “Fight for What’s Right,” an immersive civic advocacy and leadership experience at Brickhouse Boxing Gym designed to empower children to confidently use their voices to create positive change. Aligned with the Civic/Legislative Programmatic Thrust, participants engaged in hands-on workshops focused on peaceful protest, civic engagement,

Children created personalized advocacy posters and participated in a mock sit-in and peaceful protest where they publicly spoke on issues including anti-bullying, environmental justice, child labor awareness, preserving Black history, and kindness.

Guided by a professional boxing coach and Marine Corps veteran, participants also explored discipline, resilience, and

self-confidence. GG3 further demonstrated civic responsibility through canned food donations benefiting local families and participation in the Jack and Jill Foundation Loose Change initiative. This transformative “BUT FOR” experience strengthened leadership, public speaking, advocacy, and community awareness while empowering children to see themselves as future changemakers.

A highlight of the day was the HBCU Exploratory. Children showcased original artwork and written presentations highlighting various HBCUs, sharing the inspiration of their work and the value of attending HBCUs.

iken County Chapter’s Awe-Inspiring Teens kicked off Civic Engagement Week with an immersive visit to the Aiken County Courthouse, where they observed criminal court proceedings presided over by the Honorable Judge Courtney Clyburn-Pope. The group received a warm welcome from the judge’s law clerk and was invited into the judge’s chambers. There, Judge Pope provided insight into her role within the court system and helped set expectations for what the teens would experience in the courtroom.

he Five Star Passionate Portsmouth Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. commemorated Jack & Jill Day and Carole Robertson Day through civic engagement, service, and family-centered activism. Families gathered at Emily Spong Elementary School for opening remarks and a teen-led tribute honoring Carole Robertson and her legacy of justice

PORTSMOUTH, VA and youth leadership. In partnership with the City of Portsmouth and the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Portsmouth, the chapter launched a voter canvassing rally encouraging participation in the November 4, 2025, election. n October 5, 2025, a multi-grade program connected inclusion, service, and hands-on design with a strong emphasis on legislative awareness and civic action.

Children partnered with May We Help which provides custom wheelchair adaptations while also exploring how laws support accessibility. They learned about Ohio’s House Bill 32, which proposes designating Disability Pride and Awareness Month, and discussed how advocacy can influence inclusive policy.

MOTOR CITY, MI From Farm to Fridge: Food Justice in Action

T

o cultivate civic consciousness and community stewardship, Motor City Chapter Challengers participated in “From Farm to Fridge: Food Justice in Action” a comprehensive food equity experience at the Detroit Food Co-op. This multifaceted activity integrated financial literacy, entrepreneurship, urban agriculture,

and direct service to address food insecurity during the holiday season. Challengers received instruction in two financial literacy modules - Thinking Ahead: Developing a Financial Plan and Put Some Aside: Budgeting - before meeting the Co-op’s founder to learn what a cooperative business model is and how community ownership creates economic power. Participants then applied their learning through the “Meal Planning

Challenge,” budgeting and planning nutritious meals using real family financial scenarios reflecting Detroit’s economic diversity.

As a culminating act of service, Challengers purchased gift cards and donated them to under-resourced families, transforming knowledge into meaningful community impact.

These activities demonstrated how ideas move from awareness to enacted law. Alongside this, children engaged in collaborative wheelchair design projects and toured a workshop to better understand adaptive tools. The program concluded with a service activity assembling bags for the organization’s Halloween event.

n November 22, 2025, Grade Groups 3, 4, and TAG teens gathered at Kensington Church for a hands-on civic engagement program. In partnership with Junior Achievement of Detroit and the NAACP of Detroit, students explored types of government, how bills become laws, and how public funds are

n January 17, 2026, the St. Louis Chapter hosted “Build Dreams, One Bed at a Time,” a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service activity in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The initiative mobilized 142 volunteers, including mothers, associate mothers, non-members, fathers, and children from all grade

Working in teams by grade groups, they built replica town governments, creating structures, electing officials, and passing laws that reflected their community’s needs, while receiving guidance from a panel of local leaders. Students then decided whether their town budgets could support donating winter coats and accesso-

To keep all children engaged, the session included movement breaks along with support tools to aid in self-regulation. The program brought the legislative process to life and strengthened leadership, compassion, and philanthropy through financial planning into our children.

ST. LOUIS, MO groups, to address bedding insecurity across the St. Louis region. Volunteers assembled bedding bags, hygiene kits, and built 20 beds for local children. At a later date, chapter leaders, alongside staff from Sleep in Heavenly Peace, delivered a set of bunk beds to a mother and her children receiving services through Almost Home,

one of the chapter’s long-standing community partners. As part of the chapter’s HBCU Activation, Student Government leaders from Harris-Stowe State University attended the event and later hosted chapter families at a Harris-Stowe basketball game, allowing members to proudly show their Hornet pride.

n October 11, 2025, the Ypsilanti Chapter’s seventh and eighth-grade Jacks and Jills became policymakers for a day at the University of Michigan Ford School of Public Policy during “Policy in Action: Youth Leading Change.” Focused on youth homelessness, this civic engagement workshop challenged our middle school scholars to examine community needs and develop real-world solutions. After learning about public policy careers, viewing a documentary, and reviewing local data, they worked in teams to create policy proposals with practical funding strategies. The activity incorporated two leadership themes, Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution and Legislative Engagement, as each team considered taxes, grants, donations, and partnerships to support its ideas. The afternoon concluded with a city council-style debate, where our Jacks and Jills practiced persuasive speaking, respectful disagreement, and weighing multiple sides of an issue. The experience strengthened civic awareness, leadership confidence, and belief in their ability to influence change.

he Baton Rouge Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Teen Grade Group partnered with Blind Grace for an immersive educational experience in downtown Baton Rouge, hosted by Moms LaMiesa Bonton, Wendy Daniels, Victoria Armstrong, Celeste Jefferson, and Dana Cody.

The program began at Bonton Associates, a civil engineering firm owned by the Bon-

Blind Grace co-founders led a sensitivity training that increased awareness of blindness and visual impairment, covering etiquette, communication, and effective ways to provide assistance. Teens experienced visual conditions through simulation goggles before participating in a guided

downtown walk while blindfolded or serving as sighted guides. Along the way, they learned about tactile paving, audible crossing signals, and mobility canes supporting independent navigation. The experience concluded with writing letters of encouragement to children attending Camp ABLE, fostering empathy, inclusion, and appreciation for resilience and independence.

or the 2026 MLK Day of Service, the El Paso–Southern New Mexico Chapter celebrated the ribbon-cutting of its first Little Free Library. Led by the Onyx (PreK– Kinder) and Jade (1st–3rd) grade group, a community-wide book drive collected more than 70 children’s books for the historic McCall Neighborhood Community Center in El Paso, Texas. The students painted, assembled, and dedicated the Little Free Library, taking an active role in creating a lasting resource for local families. Located at the community center, the library provides free, ongoing access to books and educational resources year-round. This service project promotes literacy, strengthens community connections, and honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by empowering young children to make a meaningful impact through service.

n October 2025, the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Historic Houston Chapter partnered with community organizations to host Houston’s first teen-led Congressional candidate debate, Speak Youth to Power. Designed to increase civic engagement among youth, the event connected teens directly with candidates representing Congressional District 18 and engaged more than 4,500 community members through in-person attendance, live streaming, and radio broadcasts by Texas Southern University’s KTSU and The Vibe.

Chapter teens led nearly every aspect of the program, including selecting debate topics, drafting questions, moderating discussions, greeting guests, and serving as debate officials. Discussions focused on issues important to youth, including education, gun violence, mental health, NIL laws, and community development. Participants also completed leadership training in communications and public speaking, strengthening their confidence as future civic leaders. The inclusive event incorporated visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning approaches, ensuring all participants could fully engage and thrive.

he Louisiana Delta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated proudly participated in the MLK Day of Service through a heartfelt partnership with New Living Word Ministries. United by a shared commitment to service and community impact, chapter families and youth volunteers prepared and distributed more than 100 sack lunches to individuals and families throughout the community. Volunteers also assisted with organizing and assembling food boxes through the ministry’s pantry to help meet the needs of local residents facing food insecurity. Our younger Jack and Jills added a special touch by creating handmade cards filled with messages of peace, encouragement, and hope to include with each lunch. This project was a meaningful opportunity for our youth to engage with the community, spread kindness, and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service, compassion, and unity.

tion and stocking of our Little Lending Library at a local pediatric practice to foster youth literacy. Through strategic, heart-led action, our Teens powerfully demonstrated how local service can transform lives, proving that today’s small acts of kindness become tomorrow’s foundations of hope!

encouraged the youth to remain actively engaged in civic affairs, emphasizing the importance of informed participation in shaping their communities and future.

Following the discussion, the Magnolias participated in a walking tour of Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn District, exploring significant political, cultural, and civil rights

reater Lake Allatoona Chapter families reunited after summer break for Jack and Jill/Carole Robertson Day, a meaningful event that honored Carole Robertson while supporting local veterans. In partnership with the Highland Rivers Foundation’s Veterans Outpost program, families came together to assemble donation bags filled with toiletries, first aid supplies, snacks, socks, and

gloves. Fathers helped pack 120 backpacks for veterans, and children added heartfelt thank-you notes to show appreciation for their service. Farah Paillant-Richardson, Director of Veteran Services at Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, spoke about the challenges veterans face and shared mental health and suicide prevention resources for families to pass along.

n March 7, 2026, Greater-Champaign Urbana Chapter traveled to the CIBC Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, to experience the 10th anniversary tour of Hamilton: An American Musical. Centered on the programmatic thrust of cultural enrichment, the outing provided attendees with an engaging opportunity to explore American history through a modern and diverse lens.

Blending hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and traditional musical theater, Hamilton brings the story of Alexander Hamilton and the founding of the United States to life while highlighting the contributions and perspectives of African-American and LatinX communities. The production’s diverse casting and contemporary storytelling encouraged participants to reflect on history in a more personal and meaningful way.

The experience offered more than entertainment; it created space for learning, conversation, and cultural appreciation. The interactive learning experience encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of Black history and its lasting impact on society. A highlight of the program was a dynamic presentation by renowned historian Chris Haley, who shared powerful stories and historical insights that captivated attendees. ABA teens then had

the unique opportunity to interview Mr. Haley, demonstrating confidence, leadership, and thoughtful engagement. The day began with a meal honoring the Black diaspora, featuring Southern and Caribbean cuisine. The cultural festival opened with a flag parade celebrating

Dancers from the Franklin Learning Center High School, in Philadelphia, delivered outstanding performances and led interactive dance lessons for participants. The event highlight-

n Saturday, September 20, the Empire Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated hosted its first official Jack and Jill Day, a vibrant block party on 120th Street in Harlem between Malcolm X Boulevard and Mount Morris

n April 18, 2026, JJMCMC proudly hosted its MoCoChella Middle School Mixer: An HBCU-Themed Party with a Purpose. MoCoChella brought together Jacks and Jills, invited guests, and families from other chapters for an experience centered around Black excellence, culture, and community while celebrating HBCUs. The evening opened with an elec-

In partnership with Marcus Meets Malcolm, a local nonprofit bringing art, movement, and culture to the community, the event drew over 250 families and children for an afternoon of learning, laughter, and togetherness. Activities included flower arrangement led by Group 1, STEM robot-building led by Group 2, double

dutch, hula hooping, face painting, basketball, and dancing to live music. Moe’s Famous Burgers, a beloved neighborhood food truck, kept families fueled throughout the day. More than a party, Jack and Jill Day was a celebration of community, culture, and connection rooted in the heart of Harlem.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD trifying performance by the Delaware State University Marching Band, exposing youth to the pride, artistry, and spirit of HBCU band culture. Adding to the excitement, members of Delta Sigma Theta from Howard University delivered a dynamic step performance that energized the crowd and highlighted rich traditions of Black Greek organizations connected to HBCU

life. Throughout the evening, a DJ provided music while guests enjoyed interactive experiences including a henna station, photo booth, HBCU displays, and games.

Attendees also received giveaways and HBCU merchandise. The event reinforced the importance of supporting HBCUs and exposing youth to culturally affirming educational pathways and experiences.

n January 31, Nassau County’s 3-5 Voyagers took part in a one of a kind Educational and Cultural Activity known as the Shinnecock Mid-Winter Social. It not only activated our Voyagers’ appreciation for another culture, it also built citizenship skills and left a huge imprint! Our little history buffs dove into Long Island’s rich indigenous

NASSAU COUNTY, NY roots by delighting in the rhythms of hand drums, rattles, and traditional songs at a lively Pow Wow. After listening to a cozy seasonal tale, they enjoyed a delicious indigenous meal-fry bread and soup and then switched into full journalist mode. Flexing their oratorical skills, our Voyagers interviewed a Shinnecock Tribal President and bonded over shared

African-American values of community, respect, and togetherness. To conclude, our young activists grabbed their pencils, co-wrote and signed a heartfelt letter to the tribe, expressing their gratitude and they championed efforts to preserve Shinnecock protected lands.

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DE “The Ride of Reality: What Every Black Teen Should Know Behind the Wheel” provided the teens in Group 5 with a culturally responsive and potentially life saving educational experience. Designed for new and soon to be drivers, the program combined practical driving education with meaningful dialogue about safety and law enforcement interactions.

Officers from the Delaware State Police and the New Castle County Police Department led realistic traffic stop demonstrations that taught teens how to communicate calmly, understand their rights, and safely navigate stressful encounters.

Participants also engaged in a defensive driving lesson focused on situational awareness, safe decision making, and re-

sponsible driving habits. Through collaboration with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and the Town of Middletown, the program reinforced the Educational Thrust by equipping Black youth with real world knowledge, critical thinking skills, and practical tools that support lifelong learning, personal safety, and civic awareness.

n February 2026, The Hilltop Teens (grade group 5) participated in a dynamic two-part experience that explored the impact of philanthropy, the value of integrity, and importance of preserving Black history for future generations. The experience began with an engaging teen meeting with Keith Leaphart, a philanthropist who led an inspiring discussion on how giving of time, talents, and resources can create meaningful change, strengthen communities, and preserve important historical narratives. The experience continued with a visit to the Weeksville Heritage Center in Brooklyn—one of the largest free Black communities in pre–Civil War America. Through interactive exhibits, cultural exploration, and historical reflection, teens connected the lessons from Part 1 to real-world examples of resilience, preservation, and empowerment. n May, the NCSDJJ Chapter hosted a HBCU Activation Extravaganza. In preparation, we raised money for the JJ Gap Fund through T-shirt sales. The day started with line-dancing led by an instructor and DJ. Our Teens gathered in a HBCU-themed room filled with spirit gear and decorations. A moderated panel discussion with HBCU graduates inspired through stories of how their unique college experience shaped them. A yoga/meditation instructor guided our GG3/4 children in a self-affirmation and actualization session. GG1/2 children created vision boards and genealogy trees. In keeping with our WAO commitment, a sensory quiet zone and adaptations were available for all. The capstone was our first NCSDJJ Black Family Feud with HBCU and other Black History trivia. CP Lisa Bullen-Austin delighted as our game show host, leading a spirited friendly competition. As a parting gift, families went home with Attorney Ben Crump’s Worse Than a Lie.

n February 15, 2026, the Santa Clarita/Antelope Valley Chapter’s Pathfinders and Voyagers (Grade Group 2 and 3) gathered for a joyful tennis recreational and learning experience as they focused on thrusts Cultural and Health. The event introduced participants to tennis fundamentals from a professional tennis coach, as they blended recre-

ation, skill building, and cultural appreciation into a powerful and memorable afternoon. Beyond the physical activity, the children engaged in an age-appropriate discussion about Black History and its lasting influence on the sport of tennis.

he Raleigh-Wake chapter held its annual Black Family Day celebration on May 3, 2026 with the theme “Celebrating Black Excellence in Style”. This year‘s event featured a New Orleans style “second line” celebration, known by its community-driven parades with brass bands. The live brass band provided a historical overview of the legacy of a second line and highlighted the cultural significance of collective celebration. The chapter also celebrated its collective achievements and honored our Jacks and Jills who were aging up, including special send off for our 17 graduating seniors. This cultural event expanded upon and elevated the vision of our magnificent leadership, as well as the aims of our Founders by creating the space and opportunity to unite our families and children. This event closed out our programming year, leaving our mother members, fathers, Jacks, and Jills with a deep connection and immense pride in our African-American heritage.

he Greater Grand Rapids Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., in partnership with the HBCU Club of Muskegon, continues its commitment to building pathways to Historically Black Colleges and Universities through its annual community-centered event, College Preview Day. Designed to raise awareness, celebrate achievement, and expand access, the event engages nearly 100 students in grades 6–12 and their families each October. This year’s empowerment-style program featured a keynote from Tarra Carson, M.A., M.Ed, founder of the Muskegon HBCU Club and Grambling State University alumna. Breakout sessions guided families through the HBCU admissions process and provided practical strategies for navigating financial aid, scholarships, and out-of-state tuition. Participants also learned about the Muskegon HBCU Club’s annual Spring Break College Tour, offering students a chance to experience HBCU campuses firsthand and further explore their college possibilities.

he Grade Group 4 (Grades 6–8) event, “Chop It Like It’s Hot,” was a dynamic Black History Month program centered on the theme Food Has a Story. The experience helped youth understand how food reflects culture, history, and the deep traditions within African American communities. Students visited the Black-owned business Confectionately Yours, led by Chef Adija Greer-Smith, where they engaged in hands-on cooking and learned to prepare traditional dishes. Through this experience, they explored how

food can tell stories, honor cultural roots, and build community. The second portion of the event focused on entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Students learned key business concepts such as cost, price, profit, and responsibility, and explored how passion can evolve into business ownership. They also discussed money as a tool and the importance of making wise financial decisions.

The event concluded with reflection, encouraging students to consider their role in continuing cultural and entrepreneurial legacies.

WINDY CITY, IL Windy City Chapter Cultural Immersion Trip: Morocco, Africa The Windy City Chapter participated in a chapter-wide Cultural Immersion Trip to Morocco, Africa in November 2025, engaging over 45 participants, including Windy City children ages 3–17 across all grade groups, families, and extend-

ed family members, in a week-long educational experience across Marrakech, Casablanca, and Rabat. Youth explored African history, diplomacy, economics, and wellness traditions through guided visits to historic sites, markets, and cultural landmarks. A signature experience included tea at the residence of Marissa D. Scott, U.S. Consul General for Morocco,

where children learned about diplomacy and global leadership opportunities.

ARLINGTON, TX The Untold Ride: Discovering Black Cowboy History

I

n February 2026, the PYT grade group (7th– 8th) of the Arlington Chapter visited the historic Hatley Ranch in Lancaster, Texas, for an immersive cultural experience rooted in reclaimed heritage and pride. The Hatley family, featured in the Peacock docuseries High Horse: The Black Cowboy, has spent generations preserving Black cowboy culture through horsemanship, competitive racing, and community leadership, while challenging long-standing stereotypes. Our PYTs explored the ranch firsthand, engaging with its traditions and the authentic spirit of the American West. Through dynamic discussions and handson experiences, they uncovered the often-untold history of Black cowboys, farmers, rodeo champions, and jockeys who helped shape the nation’s frontier (including Bass Reeves, the real-life Lone Ranger). This transformative experience enriched our chapter’s cultural awareness programming, instilling a sense of identity, confidence, and historical pride in our young members.

Children opened bank accounts, conducted science experiments, cared for patients, planted seeds, explored aviation, made music, and learned about Black pioneers whose contributions changed the world. Through imaginative play and exploration, they discovered that achievement and leadership are attainable for everyone. They also collected and donated 40 books to Hotel Hope, helping establish a dedicated Black History section in its library.

n Sunday, February 1st, at the Lewisville Grand Theater in Lewisville, Texas, the North Texas Chapter (NTC) proudly hosted its annual Black History Program, “Reclaiming Our Minds and Reimagining Our Future.” The inspiring event celebrated Black history, creativity, wellness, and the lasting impact

of the Harlem Renaissance through powerful youth-led performances and community engagement. The NTC Choir opened the program with “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” setting the tone for an uplifting afternoon.

Spurs (PreK–K) and Chili Peppers (1st–3rd) recited “Hey Black Child,” while Mavericks (4th–5th) combined jazz, speeches,

and live art. Junior Teens (6th–8th) energized the audience with dances from the Charleston to the Harlem Shake, and Senior Teens (9th–10th) showcased Harlem Renaissance fashion and a Mental Wellness PSA. Special guests, including author Reshonda Tate and Dallas Black Theater, made the celebration unforgettable.

he two-day Legacy, Learning & Leadership Tour delivered an unforgettable journey of culture, inspiration, and discovery for 9th–12th grade teens in Tulsa and Langston, Oklahoma. Participants explored the rich legacy of Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District, where a guided tour led by a descendant of a Tulsa Race Massacre survivor brought the powerful story of “Black Wall Street” to life. At Greenwood Rising, interactive exhibits sparked conversations about resilience, entrepreneurship, and African American excellence.

The event honored the legacy of Drs. Mamie Phipps Clark and Kenneth Bancroft Clark, whose groundbreaking “doll test” research helped show the im-

GREATER NORTH ATLANTA, GA The HBCU Experience – From Campus to Commencement took place on March 14, 2026, for Adventurous Leaders in grades 1–2. Designed to support the HBCU Activation and the Cultural and Education Programmatic Thrusts, the program introduced children to the history, impact, and importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities while promoting cultural pride, leadership development, and early college awareness.

Children explored HBCUs through videos, storytelling, discussions, interactive displays, and hands-on activities designed for all learning styles. During the HBCU Gallery Walk, participants learned about Tuskegee University, FAMU, Morehouse College, Howard University, and Hampton University through animated student characters and engaging presentations.

The experience concluded with a collaborative “Build a Campus” activity where teams created their own HBCU identity, including school names, mascots, colors, traditions, and courses. The program ended with a mock graduation ceremony that encouraged children to envision themselves as future college students, leaders, and changemakers while strengthening teamwork and confidence.

he Kwanzaa program was an extraordinary, intergenerational celebration that honored culture, community, and purpose with intention and warmth. Children of all ages engaged in a thoughtfully designed experience that brought the principles of Kwanzaa to life through storytelling, performances, and creative expression. Younger participants showed enthusiasm, while older youth demonstrated leadership and a deeper understanding of the Nguzo Saba. A standout moment was the transition to the citywide Kwanzaa event, where participants confidently represented their community with pride and purpose. Under the exceptional leadership of Wendie Martin of Sankofa for Jack and Jill, the program fostered an inclusive and empowering environment where every child felt valued. Rooted in the Sankofa framework, the experience encouraged reflection on the past while building confidence for the future. MIAMI, FL Roots Across Waters: Bahamian Legacies in Miami - In celebration of Black History Month, the Miami Chapter made history with its inaugural chapter trip, bringing 87 mothers, fathers, and children aboard a Caribbean cruise to Nassau, Bahamas. Families stood on the historic Queen’s Staircase, hand-carved by enslaved Africans, a powerful reminder of

his year’s Black History Program combined with the Ann Owen Gordon “Speak Up, Speak Out” Oratorical Competition created a dynamic celebration of Black excellence, pride, and future leadership. The centerpiece of the event, the “Black Excellence in Motion” Red Carpet Showcase, highlighted the aspirations of our Jacks and Jills as they

ancestral resilience. At Clifton Heritage National Park, a guided tour deepened that connection to the African diaspora.

The chapter partnered with Mount Carmel Preparatory Academy, donating books and resources to advance youth literacy. Families also explored their heritage through a brief genealogy workshop connecting generations. The “We Are One”

initiative created intentional sensory spaces ensuring every child felt safe and included. A clever rubber duck fundraiser; a beloved cruise tradition — generated Foundation contributions.Made possible in part by generous community sponsors, this milestone trip set a powerful standard for chapter travel rooted in culture, service, and pride.

MOBILE, AL portrayed their future careers as doctors, engineers, educators, entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, and community leaders.

Dressed as their future profession, each child and teen walked the red carpet while being introduced to the audience, and shared brief presentation explaining their chosen profession, the inspiration behind their career goals, and how their

n December 21, 2025, the Montgomery Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. hosted Orchestra on Ice at Montgomery Whitewater. This chapter-wide event combined arts, recreation, culture, and community service. Through a partnership with The Home Depot, children decorated holiday-themed craft kits, while a festive hot chocolate bar provided additional handson engagement. TALLAHASSEE, FL “Passport to the World” was an immersive, travel-themed experience designed to introduce our youngest to global cultures through hands-on learning, food, music, crafts, and storytelling.

Youth travelers began by “checking in” to receive passports, take photos, and prepare for takeoff before visiting themed destinations including Mexico, China,

Africa, France, and Italy. At each stop, children explored cultural traditions, sampled foods, completed activities, and collected passport stamps. The experience was intentionally designed to be inclusive and accessible for all children, including those with sensory sensitivities and ADA-recognized disabilities. Visual aids, tactile activities, adaptive materials,

and a designated Quiet Zone supported diverse learning and participation needs.

The journey concluded with a “Little Leaders Voting Booth,” where children voted for their favorite destination. This introduced early concepts of civic engagement, choice, and leadership while encouraging curiosity about the world around them.

n January 19, 2026, the Greater Chattanooga Chapter, in partnership with the Chambliss Center for Children, hosted a vibrant “Day On, Not a Day Off” in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our chapter hosted a donation drive to collect essential items for the Chambliss Center, a community staple providing childcare and residential services for at-risk

youth. “Snickers and Smarties” families donated new or gently used books featuring diverse characters. They painted “Kindness Rocks” with bright colors and drew “Welcome Home” cards for children entering foster care. Twix and Tweens” donated new socks and undergarments. Their station included assembling “No-Sew” fleece blankets and packing hygiene kits. They also

wrote “encouragement letters” to peers. The “Lifesaver Teens” donated full-size toiletries and facilitated the sorting and inventory of the chapter-wide donation drive. Through service, partnerships, and dedication, the Greater Chattanooga Chapter exemplifies our commitment to build brighter futures for all children.

SACRAMENTO, CA izza and Politics was a civic engagement activity hosted by the Greater Huntsville Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated on April 17, 2026, and open to all children and teens in the community. The event yielded an interactive opportunity to learn about the importance of advocacy and civic involvement at various levels.

The chapter partnered with Black Voters Matter (BVM) to deliver engaging educational sessions led by Deanna “Dee” Reed, Alabama State Coordinating Manager for BVM, and Alabama State Representative Laura Hall. Participants explored how their voices can influence change and learned practical ways to advocate for issues important to them.

FAR WEST REGION

Attendees were placed into multi-aged groups and challenged to identify concerns within their schools and/or communities. Working collaboratively, they developed advocacy plans, presented solutions, and demonstrated leadership through thoughtful discussion and active participation.
