Microsoft has announced the launch of Microsoft Teams, which is a complete hub for teamwork for Office 365 users. It allows group chats, gives access to content, tools, people and everything that a person needs to work in Office 365.

talking about Microsoft Teams chat, he said, it works well asynchronously, for more informal and casual conversations.

Nadella also said, "What underpins all of these tools is a very powerful platform," said Nadella. "A common identity, a common profile, across all of these tools powered by Azure Active Directory."

The fact that Yammer is not going away was emphasized at Microsoft’s Ignite Conference. Microsoft showed that Yammer and Office 365 will undergo a deeper integration and also the fact that there were several plans in the pipeline to do that. There is Skype for Business in Office 365

Instant communication exists via Office 365’s Skype for Business, but once you've left the chat space, the conversation disappears. There is also Slack, which allows teams to create their own public or private "chatrooms" and be able to work from multiple devices.
