About THE JAA In 1931, as Australia was experiencing the gross domestic product decline and unemployment of the Great Depression, the Jewellers Association of Australia (JAA) was established to provide industry support.

Over the next 92 years and continuing to the present day, the JAA works nationally to represent and protect the interests of the jewellery industry and consumers. the JAA covers all areas of the jewellery industry – from manufacturing, to wholesaling, distribution to retail.

The JAA is proud to promote the highest standards and ethics within the Australian jewellery industry. Each of our members adheres to the JAA Code of Conduct, showing their commitment to the industry, its clients, and to excellence.

About THE AWARDS The JAA Australasian Jewellery Awards celebrate and recognise design, innovation, craftsmanship and marketability in the jewellery industry. They are the ultimate industry awards that reward creativity, skill and technique - the most distinguished program for the Australasian jewellery community.

In his position as President of the Queensland branch of the Jewellers Association, Roy Samuel Worfold founded the JAA Design Awards in 1968, and established a program to honour designers for their artistry and excellence. The late Roy Worfold is honoured through the Roy Worfold Trophy, which is awarded to the Jeweller of the Year.

Demonstrating both craftsmanship and design skills are vital to succeeding as a jewellery designer.

Many designers are inspired by an emotional event and often the design begins with a story and ends with a piece of jewellery that can be kept forever. However, to be a superior jewellery artist, designers must be technically skilled and have the ability to work with precious metals and gemstones.

All Awards entrants' pieces appear in this publication, with finalists and winners noted. We also invite you to view the 2025 Awards video, where we go behind the scenes on judging day and showcase the winners and finalists in the 27th instalment of the Awards. As a second-generation jeweller and founder of Mondial by Nadia, Nadia grew up behind the counter of a family business built on craftsmanship, integrity, and unapologetic style. Today, Nadia blends that legacy with her own creative edge to design custom pieces that become personal emblems, future heirlooms, and bold statements of identity. Her work has been extensively recognised with national and international design awards, but her true reward is seeing someone light up when they realise: this piece was made for me.

MICHAEL ROBINSON Michael Robinson is a New Zealand born artist who creates single author jewels from his studio in Boston. Single author means no other person touches the jewellery or artworks created by Michael.

There is no workshop of assistants and designers, there is no casting or computer aided design. Michael chooses to work this way because it is important to him that anything he signs his name to is truly, authentically and entirely of his hand. Michael’s jewels have sold at prestigious galleries throughout the US as well as at major auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Phillips. He has lectured widely on the subject of metalsmithing and jewellery design for art schools and museums.

MARY STORCH Although retired, Mary Storch remains a passionate supporter of the jewellery trade. Inspired by family stories of her grandmother finding a gold nugget in Bendigo, she studied silversmithing before training in diamond grading. Mary spent 14 years with Storch & Co diamond merchants, holding numerous roles and worked extensively across Australia, Belgium, Israel and India. She has also lectured for the GAA and was honoured to serve as a judge for the prestigious De Beers’ The Shining Light Awards. Mary maintains close industry ties and a strong commitment to its future.

MOTIVATION Beyond Symmetry is a celebration of individuality and the beauty found in imperfection. Inspired by the organic forms of nature and the asymmetry of real life, this ring challenges the traditional notion that balance must be mirrored. Instead, it honours harmony in contrast—where irregular shapes, unexpected lines, and unconventional design come together to form something truly captivating.

RENEE HUDSON Divine Absence DESCRIPTION 18ct yellow gold and platinum wearable paintbrush. Featuring the colour spectrum in pave set gemstones to resemble paint dripping down the handle towards the tip of the brush. The interlocking pieces of the brush can be removed and worn as part of a collier and drop earrings. This jewellery piece was made as a multimedia artwork in collaboration with a contemporary fine artist. It will be sold together with a portrait featuring the jeweller and the paintbrush, this will be on display at the Jewellery Industry Fair. The title of the piece was inspired by a song by Nick Cave and Nicholas Lens, “The Litany of Divine Absence” (2020)..

MOTIVATION “Art is the way home” This piece was inspired by the artist's journey. My goal was to challenge boundaries by fusing jewellery making with the instrument of an artist, to create a wearable piece of art. The paintbrush is an extension of the hand, a direct connection to the creation of a painting and the artist. When I feel a disconnection from self, I use art to rediscover myself. This piece explores how the absence of self can lead to the deepening of the experience of creation and what it means to be human. It's difficult to look into ourselves, and more difficult to be seen by others. Through their chosen mediums, artists externalise their souls, contributing to the visual history of the human experience.

The contrast of bold geometry with fluid contouring creates visual tension and harmony in equal measure—delivering angles for days and a silhouette that refuses to be ignored. Far from delicate, Pia is unapologetically confident. It is a celebration of colour, form, and fearless design—crafted for the wearer who embraces individuality and impact.

MOTIVATION Pia marks a personal milestone—my first-ever competition entry and a celebration of my 10th wedding anniversary. It represents more than just a ring; it’s a declaration of growth, love, and creative courage.

This piece challenged me to push the boundaries of my hand fabrication skills and apply newly learned setting techniques in a bold and uncompromising design. I wanted to create something that wasn’t just beautiful, but brave—a wearable work of art that starts conversations and evokes emotion, whether it’s adored or polarising. Pia is for the wearer who embraces impact. It is a piece with presence, purpose, and a story etched into every line and curve.

cAd|cAM cAst AWARd DESCRIPTION A contemporary interpretation of antique inspiration, The Heart of the Phoenix is an Edwardian-style star brooch and pendant designed using CAD. At its centre sits an anatomical sacred heart, digitally modelled from hand sketches and crafted in gold. It connects into the brooch via a white gold arrow pin, set with rubies and diamonds, which unscrews at the ruby end to hold the piece securely together. Inside the heart locket is a hidden pavé of rubies and garnets—and a rising phoenix. Each element—the brooch, the heart, the arrow—can be worn independently or together as a symbolic talisman of resilience and renewal. Old-cut diamonds anchor the piece in historic tradition, while CAD enabled the precision and engineering needed to realise its organic form and transformable design.

MOTIVATION The Heart of the Phoenix is a piece born of lived experience. The designer lost her parents to cancer when she was young, survived cancer herself, and rebuilt her life after divorce. The jeweller left his home country and began again from scratch—in a new language, a new culture. Between them, they know what it means to start over. And they understand that survival is only part of the story. Rebuilding—bravely and beautifully— is the rest of it. This piece honours the strength it takes to begin again. It speaks to the moment after loss, when you choose to rise. The arrow wounds the heart but doesn't break it. Hidden within, a phoenix formed in rubies and garnets symbolises renewal and the courage of starting anew.

KIERA WANG Vestiges of time DESCRIPTION The ring is crafted from 14ct yellow gold, where textured black rhodium plating contrasts against polished gold, highlighting an organic, sculptural form that captures the interplay between clarity and haze. The gold stems with pink and white diamond pavé-set buds gently climb along the ring’s surface, reflecting the bitter sweets in life.

MOTIVATION Inspired by the intangible remnants that persist long after memories fade. Even as faces and events drift into haziness, delicate sensations of joy intertwined with bittersweet nostalgia remain vivid, subtly guiding us through life’s journey.

PHILIP GOUGH Cinderella - 'The Glass Slipper' DESCRIPTION A pendant featuring an Australian white opal, made in 18ct rose gold and platinum with diamond accents.

MOTIVATION Philip began with an exquisite piece of opal sculptured by his wife Anita. With her intuitive, artistic approach, she created shape, movement and a luxurious feel to the opal, visualising it as a breathtaking ball gown, capturing its elegance, fluidity and phenomenon. Philip meticulously designed a pendant, adorned with a glamorous accent of sparkling melee diamonds. Rose gold to enhance the opals phenomenal play-ofcolour topped with a diamond encrusted platinum mirror ball. The reverse side reveals a whimsical rose gold ‘slipper,’ elegantly highlighted by the glasslike, enchanting appearance of the luminous white opal, adding a touch of magic and sophistication to the overall design. The pendant is elegantly highlighted on sleek black neoprene, a subtle nod to the girl who wore the iconic black choker.

One-of-a-kind 18K Yellow Gold ring featuring Australian Parti Sapphires, expertly cut to reveal a blend of oceanic blues, greens and golden hues. Surrounding the centre stone is a meticulously colour-matched halo, set upon a band that mirrors the stone's unique tones.

MOTIVATION This piece was born from a deep love of the Australian coastline - its ever-changing blues, jade shallows and golden glimmers of morning light. I wanted to capture the moment of stillness just beneath the ocean's surface, when the rising sun touches the horizon and the world above meets the world below.

To tell this story, I chose Australian sapphires for their remarkable colour range. Through precision cutting I was able to uncover and highlight the distinct blues, greens and flashes of yellow within. Their placement throughout the piece was intentionally designed to echo the way morning breaks across a still sea.

ARI FLEMING Johnny Cash DESCRIPTION 9ct yellow gold men's turquoise and Argyle champagne diamond signet ring with custom western style hand engraving encompassing the ring.

MOTIVATION The piece was inspired by the country western singer Johnny Cash. He was a rough and ready cowboy and country music singer. I wanted to incorporate elements of his life in the piece from the horses in the bottom of the ring, to the longhorns either side, to the native turquoise from America in the top further to incorporating the champagne diamonds to make the piece feel more earthy and rough and ready. In this piece all of the above has been encapsulated.

cAd|cAM cAst AWARd RENEE HUDSON Ulysses DESCRIPTION 18ct white and yellow gold pendant showcasing a15.09ct Caribbean Blue Zircon. Claw set with a combination of round, pear and marquise cut diamonds. Underneath the pendant is grain set with black spinel and features the pierced detail of a Ulysses butterfly wing.

MOTIVATION Inspired by the element of wind and an interpretation of a quote by the Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi – “Am I a man dreaming that I was a butterfly or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?” From the front you can see beautiful gems that are set to capture the movement of wind. From the back is a fragment of a Ulysses butterfly wing. The duality from the front to the back invites the viewer to question the nature of reality.

HUGH THYREGOD Half a Dozen DESCRIPTION A deep blue green egg shaped Australian Sapphire is held by a platinum hand, set in a thick curvy yellow gold band which is covered in flowy engraving and a few diamonds for good measure.

MOTIVATION I wanted to make a substantial, slightly unhinged ring with this sapphire for a 30th birthday present.

NATASHA ARCURI Untitled DESCRIPTION Double sided pendant composed of six separate parts which fit together without solder. Allowing it to be taken apart and so the inserts can be changed at any time.

MOTIVATION Wanted to immortalize my children's faces in a modern take on a locket. So far have only done my son's face but plan to make an alternate insert with my daughters face when I can get her to stand still enough.

cAd|cAM cAst AWARd AMRITH DHARMAWARDANE Floating Bangle DESCRIPTION This 14ct yellow gold bangle features a repeating pattern of open circular links, creating elegant negative space that enhances its sculptural form. Set with emerald-cut tourmalines, luminous Keshi pearls and delicate white diamonds, the design balances bold geometry with soft, organic elements. A signature engraved disc adds a distinctive finishing touch.

MOTIVATION When I designed this Bangle, I wanted each element to have room to breathe. The negative space between the gold disc elements is just as important as the pearls and tourmalines themselves. It gives the piece a sense of lightness and movement, like it’s floating on the wrist. Set in 14ct yellow gold, the clean lines of the tourmalines contrast beautifully with the softness of the pearls, while small diamonds catch all the light in between. I wanted it to feel bold but not heavy, the type of piece that feels like a quiet statement.

ARSEN SARGKSIAN Dandelion DESCRIPTION “Dandelion” is a sculptural ring inspired by the natural geometry and delicacy of a dandelion in bloom.

Crafted by hand in 18k rose and white gold, the piece features a central dome of petals that radiate outward each one tipped with a natural diamond. The core of the flower gently rotates, bringing the piece to life with subtle motion. With its airy structure, soft symmetry, and glistening movement, this ring captures the lightness and fleeting beauty of nature in full bloom.

MOTIVATION The concept behind “Dandelion” was to reimagine a familiar natural form through precious materials and mechanical artistry. The aim was to create a piece that felt poetic and organic, while still pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship. The movement adds surprise and tactility, inviting the wearer to interact with the design. It’s a celebration of creativity, goldsmith skill, and storytelling through form.

MOTIVATION The natural bluish grey satin finished white gold to represent a darkened lunar landscape, pockmarked by diamond craters and a rose gold starburst with a dark heart represented by a black diamond.

KIRRA-LEA CAYNES Ripple DESCRIPTION Inspired by the flowing lines of Art Nouveau, this sculptural ring is forged from a single piece of silver and shaped to wind between two fingers. A sweeping curl rolls over the top, engraved with ripple-like textures drawn from mussel shells and the tide’s imprint on sand. The curl is inlaid with rich 9ct yellow gold and blackened with liver of sulphur, creating deep contrast with the polished silver and making the gold glow with warmth. A freshwater button pearl rests cradled in the curl, giving the piece a soft, organic finish.

MOTIVATION I wanted this piece to feel like it was in motion, flowing naturally across the hand. Making it from one continuous piece of metal was important — I wanted it to move without interruption. I played with the contrast between polished silver, blackened silver, and the rich tone of yellow gold. The rippled engraving adds texture and gives the curl a sense of movement, like the marks left by the tide or the curves of a shell. The blackened silver makes the engraved lines deeper and helps the gold glow even warmer. It was about creating something that felt fluid and full of life, with light and texture working together to bring it to life.

MOTIVATION Inspired by the nostalgia I have felt over the last few years from revisiting places from my childhood where I have been camping or out in nature. Standing under the night sky and staring up at an endless field has never lost that feeling of wonder. it is that feeling I have tried to capture in this piece. The never ending curve and twist of the Mokume body, and the stars and planets that run through its confines are my attempt to capture the ceaseless turn of the stars overhead.

MICHAEL MOONEY The Silkened Weaver And The Aegis Beetle DESCRIPTION Choker necklace of a spider in its web with a spring-loaded beetle clasp with dew-styled diamond web patterns. All of this is completely handmade, including the chain. I drew down the wire and made the jump rings, soldered the chain and pulled it through the plate, as well as the springs from the clasp. I rewound the steel wire for the springs.

MOTIVATION This design was inspired by a story told to me after a terrible tragedy in my life, based on a lose-lose situation. I wanted to make something truly special and turn what was bad into something beautiful and magical.

At its centre sits a bi-colour tourmaline, showcasing a natural gradient from deep blue to vivid green. It is surrounded by a sunburst arrangement of brilliant-cut diamonds and topaz, representing the light and joy she brings into our lives.

The piece was created using CAD design, 3D printed and cast in-house in 14ct two-tone gold. This is not only a labour of love, but a collaborative achievement by my brother and I following our fathers' footsteps in the jewellery profession

MOTIVATION This ring was made as a 60th birthday present for our mother. Having a husband, son and daughter who are all jewellers, we wanted to make something unique and colourful to suit her style. This was the second collaborative piece my brother and I have done and, only having ventured into jewellery in the last 3 years, it was great to be able to challenge myself with a standout piece like this.

Crafted in 9ct yellow gold with a spinning 9ct white gold segment, it features a black rhodium engraved QR code at its centre. Twelve diamonds are set at the precise positions of a clock's hours symbolising the passage of time. When scanned, the code unlocks a private digital memory: a photo, a voice, a moment otherwise fleeting. It’s a ring that holds both presence and permanence. In merging traditional craftsmanship with digital intimacy, Time Capsule becomes more than adornment it becomes a vessel for connection, a timekeeper of love, a living archive. The interlocking pieces of the brush can be removed and worn as part of a collier and drop earrings. This jewellery piece was made as a multimedia artwork in collaboration with a contemporary fine artist. It will be sold together with a portrait featuring the jeweller and the paintbrush, this will be on display at the Jewellery Industry Fair. The title of the piece was inspired by a song by Nick Cave and Nicholas Lens, “The Litany of Divine Absence” (2020)..

MOTIVATION “Art is the way home” This piece was inspired by the artist's journey. My goal was to challenge boundaries by fusing jewellery making with the instrument of an artist, to create a wearable piece of art. The paintbrush is an extension of the hand, a direct connection to the creation of a painting and the artist. When I feel a disconnection from self, I use art to rediscover myself. This piece explores how the absence of self can lead to the deepening of the experience of creation and what it means to be human. It's difficult to look into ourselves, and more difficult to be seen by others. Through their chosen mediums, artists externalise their souls, contributing to the visual history of the human experience.

ALYRA BARTASEK Littoral Zone DESCRIPTION Hot Isostatic Platinum (HIP) featuring a Santa Maria emerald cut natural aquamarine and eight baguette-cut, two oval-cut, four pear-cut, two princess-cut, and seventy-eight round brilliant-cut diamonds, ring and pendant.

The ring separates into two pieces, the ring shank and the basket. The basket can also be worn as a pendant with the concealed clasp bail.

MOTIVATION This piece was inspired by the continually changing patterns of shorelines. Like the transformative sea, this piece converts from ring into pendant, to be worn as either. The diamonds like glistening, wet pebbles on a shoreline draw attention to the captivating water or immersive, deep colour of the Santa Maria Aquamarine, cradled in a shell inspired basket. The repetition in these patterns highlights the beauty and perfection of nature that is still largely a mystery to us. The hidden curved structure of the band is reminiscent of the female form, or the mermaid on the bow of a ship, the protector of this space.

MOTIVATION When I moved from China to Australia, one of my first experiences was standing barefoot on a beach, overwhelmed by the vastness of the ocean and the warmth of the sand. There’s nothing quite like it where I’m from — no endless blue, no golden shore, no sea glass scattered like tiny treasures catching the light. That moment stayed with me. The sound inside a shell, the worn glass, the feeling of space and stillness — all became part of how I see & design jewellery. Along one angled face of each earring are seven grain set round black spinels, while on another angled face are three round diamonds, also grain set. Stud with lever back fitting.

MOTIVATION I wanted to challenge myself to design and make jewellery beyond the everyday pieces we make for clients.

When the opportunity arose to design a piece around the fabulous, unique cut quartz by Munsteiner, I was compelled to create earrings which allowed them to move and catch the light. The gemstones themselves informed the design, with the angled cuts reflecting the tourmaline needles intersecting within.

MOTIVATION This piece was inspired by a pendant seen in a local Antique store, and is a combination of old jewellery pieces which hold many memories.

contempoRARy AWARd DESCRIPTION Like a caiman waiting for prey just below the surface of the water, a Colombian Emerald sits just above a cascading tail of tightly set step-cut diamonds in a heavy tantalum band, with a crescent sleeve of 18ct gold.

MOTIVATION European jewellery houses have always dominated the world of innovation and excellence in high jewellery, and I’ve always admired the unconventional materials in which they excel. This piece is a personal challenge to test my boundaries of design and technique in bold materials, and though it was intensely difficult I enjoyed the exploration and R&D of this concept so much. In pushing my own technical and creative limits, I wanted to combine rarely-paired (for good reason) metal with a juxtaposing delicate and valuable emerald, with one of the most difficult sets of diamonds to tightly fit corner-to-corner, resulting in a piece that combines sculpture, engineering, and ornament.

KIRRA-LEA CAYNES Azure DESCRIPTION This forged brass ring explores the boundary between the natural and the surreal. Its hollow form is textured to evoke organic matter — the ridges of a horn, the surface of a seed pod — and blackened with soot from a soft flame. The surface has been gently rubbed back near the opening to reveal warm coloured brass, sealed with a matte varnish to preserve the charred patina. From the opening of the ring, a plume of my own bluedyed hair emerge like living material, surrounded by fine stalks of sterling silver tipped with delicate Akoya seed pearls.

MOTIVATION This piece began as a sketch I made during my apprenticeship — a concept I’ve revisited over the years before finally bringing it to life. I forged three hollow form bands and chose the one that felt most alive. My own dyed blue hair spills from the ring’s opening. Hair has long held symbolic meaning — especially in Victorian jewellery — as a way to carry memory, love, and identity. I collect offcuts from myself, friends, and family, seeing hair as both deeply personal and expressive. This piece is a quiet merging of history, sentiment, and instinct — made not from a fixed concept, but from a desire to explore and materialise something I’ve carried with me for years.

PETER COOMBS Electro-Torch 40th DESCRIPTION Electro-Torch 40th Anniversary Edition. Spectacles created from titanium and silver fittings.

Originally an end of the world Jules Verne type piece created from black chromed nickel and sterling, the newest iteration ca be produced in raw titanium, coloured titanium etc. The front bumper can also be interchanged with numerous shapes other than round.

MOTIVATION I created my first frame in 1985 and called it Electro-Torch.The design has endured and to mark 40 years, I have taken the look and modernised the construction process.

ZAC FARDELL Amberlyn DESCRIPTION A 6.2ct whisky zircon is elegantly set in a hand sliced and sculpted frame combining ceramic coated Australian deer antler, rich south American cocobolo wood and polished African Oryx horn. This unconventional blend of natural materials, is both a celebration and elevation of the raw to refined. Beneath the natural zircon lies an intricate array of autumn hued diamonds set into blackened silver. Evoking the subtle richness of late season earth. The rings head is semi detachable, engineered to interlock with precision. Some hidden craftsmanship beneath its bold contemporary exterior.

MOTIVATION The ring draws its conceptual and material language from the design ethos of Westley and Richards. the esteemed British gunmaker. Their striking interplay of organic and engineered materials, combined with a deep reverance for craft and functional beauty, served as the foundation for this piece. By adopting their meticulous approach to material pairing, palette and construction. An attempt to reinterpret the soul of the sporting rifle into the language of high jewellery- one rooted in contrast, heritage and elemental elegance.

contempoRARy AWARd CARMEN TAYLOR Guardian of the Heart Gate DESCRIPTION Guardian of the Heart Gate is a handwoven breastplate crafted as a vibrational portal for heart-led ascension and soul remembrance. Created over 44 hours using fine micromacramé techniques, the piece activates what I call the “Gates of Intention” — high-frequency stones chosen for their energetic resonance. A Sirian–Lyran Light Language transmission is woven into the fibres through meditative knotting, sealing the work as both adornment and spiritual technology. A single Rhodochrosite bead rests at the end of the adjustable strap — a quiet talisman of inner child wonder and joy. The design merges ancestral craft, celestial geometry, and contemporary ritual — inviting the wearer into energetic recalibration, healing, and multidimensional embodiment through the heart. It is a wearable altar. Sovereign, soft, and encoded with love.

MOTIVATION This piece began as a spiritual directive — to weave a ceremonial heart amulet as a guide for inner transition. I was moved to work with eleven specific stones, each chosen for their capacity to hold clarity, compassion, and transformational frequency. The process became a ceremony: a slow, sacred conversation between material, memory, and intention. While working, I received a Light Language transmission from the Sirian and Lyran frequencies. This frequency was sung into the cordwork, knot by knot. On the end of the strap, a Rhodochrosite bead became a symbolic key — a whisper from the inner child, reminding us to see through the eyes of wonder. My motivation was to create something that both holds and heals a bridge back to soul truth.

JACINTA MARTIN Wyola DESCRIPTION Brass, platinum and silver necklet featuring sea glass and patterned sea pottery surrounded by South Sea Keshi Pearls, diamonds, driftwood, Mother of pearl and hand carved Abalone shell. The necklet is finished with a matt finish with polished highlighted sections and a hand-woven natural cotton rope on an adjustable tension spiral clasp to allow the necklet to be worn at any length to suit the wearer and their attire.

MOTIVATION Inspired by themes of transformation, sustainability and resilience. Balancing raw, found objects with precious pearls, this one-of-a-kind statement jewellery necklet is a harmonious blend of nature’s castaways and reined craftmanship. Named “Wyola” after the shipwreck (SS Wyola) where the sea glass and sea pottery, found nestled in the sands of CY O’Connor beach. It reimagines discarded objects, such as sea glass, pottery, driftwood and pearls which normally wouldn’t be used into a refined, heirloom-worthy piece telling a story of time, transformation and repurpose. What was discarded is given new life, transformed into something meaningful and beautiful to be handed down for generations. This necklet is both a work of art and a tribute to the sea, tactile memory or coastal shores, ocean tides and history.

CHANTELLE GREEN Hydra DESCRIPTION ‘Hydra’ is a collier design featuring a central pear cut white diamond, which is set between two swirling ‘vortices’ of white and rose gold. It is adorned with grain set white round brilliant cut diamonds and rub over set Argyle pink diamonds, which graduate from most intense in the centre, to white diamonds at the back.

MOTIVATION This collier was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s series of ‘Nature Studies’ exhibited in Australia in 1984. In particular, his studies on water and hydrodynamics, which served as both scientific observation and artistic pursuit. His illustrations with their dynamism and swirling vortices were the aesthetic foundation of this design.

The Heart of the Phoenix is a contemporary interpretation of antique design, hand-rendered in pencil and gouache. The piece is an Edwardian-inspired star brooch with a removable anatomical sacred heart at its centre. The heart connects into the brooch via a white gold arrow pin set with rubies and diamonds. The arrow unscrews at the ruby end to hold the piece securely together. Inside the heart locket lies a hidden pavé of cabochon and reverse set rubies and garnets, and an engraved intaglio of a rising phoenix—a symbol of strength and renewal. Each component—the brooch, heart, and arrow—can be worn separately or combined.

MOTIVATION The Heart of the Phoenix is a deeply personal design—about taking painful experiences and creating something meaningful and beautiful from what remains. A trip to Italy in 2024 inspired much of the iconography behind the piece, drawing on sacred hearts, arrows, and symbolism of rebirth.I lost both of my parents to cancer at a young age, survived cancer myself, and rebuilt my life after divorce. My jeweller was forced to leave his home country and begin again in a new language and culture. Between us, we understand that rebuilding is more than survival—it's an act of strength, intention and beauty .This piece speaks to that journey. The heart is pierced but not broken. Hidden inside, the phoenix symbolises renewal and the courage to rise.

A technical sketch of an 18ct white gold cuff bangle, in an openwork lace design. The edges are lined with pavé-set diamonds, and appliqué elements highlight lustrous Australian South Sea pearls and rare Argyle pink diamonds. The piece embraces the wrist in a corset-like silhouette, softly concave and with a crossover ribbon-inspired design with fine chain as the closure. At the base, delicate chainwork cascades over the hand, ending in drop-shaped South Sea pearls and briolette-cut diamonds for an elegant, articulated finish.

The top view showcases the piece as a three-dimensional cuff, with the flat-lay centred, both drawn to scale for structural clarity.

MOTIVATION La Belle Etreinte - “The Beautiful Embrace” - is a cuff bangle inspired by the sensual romance of lace, the structured elegance of corsetry, and the dazzling allure of vintage Parisian nightlife. Drawn in white gold, its openwork design evokes delicate lace patterns, the piece encircles the wrist like a gentle, seductive embrace.

Pearls symbolize classic femininity, while white and pink diamonds add vibrancy and sparkle, capturing the drama and glamour of Parisian cabaret. This piece explores the juxtaposition between boldness and delicacy, structure and softness, celebrating empowered beauty through intricate craftsmanship and theatrical flair.

The laurel wreath, held aloft, represents triumph earned through steadfastness and inner strength. I wanted to create a piece that honours the kind of courage often unseen - the courage to keep going through difficulty, to persevere with quiet strength. ALYRA BARTASEK Littoral Zone DESCRIPTION A watercolour sketch of a Platinum ring featuring a Santa Maria Emerald Cut Aquamarine and Diamonds of various cuts. The ring can separate into two pieces, the ring shank and the basket. The basket can also be worn as a pendant with the concealed clasp bail.

MOTIVATION This piece was inspired by the continually changing patterns of shorelines. Like the transformative sea, this piece converts from ring into pendant, to be worn as either. The diamonds like glistening, wet pebbles on a shoreline draw attention to the captivating water or immersive, deep colour of the Santa Maria Aquamarine, cradled in a shell inspired basket. The repetition in these patterns highlights the beauty and perfection of nature that is still largely a mystery to us. The hidden curved structure of the band is reminiscent of the female form, or the mermaid on the bow of a ship, the protector of this space.

MOTIVATION In today's busy world we so often find ourselves queing behind someone, this motivated me to design a bold statement piece visually striking from all angles drawing attention to the wearer because i wanted my design to stand out from both sides I chose to use the repousse and chasing method to create the fish heads, to capture the body's natural movement each joint was hand fabricated from chenier to balance the spinning bones. I chose titanium for its colour and the synthetic teal green stones for the eyes complimenting the titanium.

HANNAH CREA Giardina DESCRIPTION Giardina - meaning "garden" is a handmade ring that captures the beauty and movement of a blooming garden. The design features a vine-like band that gracefully wraps around the wearer's finger. At the heart of the piece is a spinning flower with openwork petals that surround a vivid green sapphire. The petals' airy structure allows light to pass through and reveals shifting perspectives as the flower moves. Grain set diamonds decorate the large swirl adding a touch of sparkle. Giardina is a miniature enchanted garden bought to life for the wearer.

MOTIVATION My motivation was to create a floral, nature inspired ring that feels alive, organic and enchanting.

MOTIVATION This Aztec-inspired necklace was created as an exploration of duality, fusing ancient symbolism with the raw beauty of nature and modern materials. The design aims to capture the strength, mysticism and transformative spirit that runs through Aztec mythology.

At its centre lies a double-sided Australian Boulder Opal, bezel-set within a freely spinning mechanism. This kinetic element symbolises transformation and the coexistence of opposing forces - both of which are core themes in Aztec cosmology.

Crafted in Sterling Silver, the pendant pays homage to traditional metalworking techniques, while the use of neoprene for the chain introduces a bold, modern contrast. PAMELA BROWN Desert Bloom DESCRIPTION Trilliant cut green sapphires claw set in white gold amongst the white gold mountains near the blooming desert of claw set yellow and purple trilliant and round cut sapphire flowers in a necklet with a white gold cable chain.

MOTIVATION Inspired by desert bloom in the Atacama Desert, a climatic phenomenon of blossoming flowers caused by unusually high rainfall reaching seeds and bulbs which have been in a dormant state, causing them to germinate and flower.

It's the first ring I've made using a claw setting, and the process taught me a lot about precision and control. I kept the band smooth and clean to contrast with the more decorative setting, which reminds me of petals or unfurling leaves. The overall form is simple yet expressive, reflecting both my learning process and my interest in natural forms and refined, elegant design.

OLIVER MATHE Untitled DESCRIPTION This sterling silver ring features a Laboratory-grown green sapphire, securely set in a double bezel. The layered setting was a deliberate choice, giving the stone a feeling of depth while protecting its edge. I wanted the design to feel solid but not heavy, with smooth curves that sit comfortably on the hand. The green sapphire brings a vibrant contrast to the silver, and shifts in tone depending on the light. This piece was an exercise in balance, between structure and simplicity, colour and metal. It's a quiet design, but one I feel reflects more control and intention in my work.
