Behind the Scenes at Knipper Health We’re peeling back the curtain to take a look at the responsibilities of fellow contributors. Name: Sandy Shaver Department: Human Resources Business Unit/Shared Service: Corporate Location: Somerset Facility Role: Receptionist Time in Role: 20 Years Tell us about your role at Knipper Health: I enjoy greeting our new employees on their first day in the office. I let them know if there is anything they need, have a question or anything else, I’m here to help, and if I cannot help them, I always find someone who can. What makes your work meaningful and rewarding to you? It’s very important to me to make a positive first impression on our Clients when they visit our facility. I try to make them feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible. My Parents always told me, “Treat others as how you would like to be treated”, and that is what I try to do every day. Tell us about a hobby or interest outside of Knipper, or a fun fact about yourself that others might not guess? My Mom and I shared the same love for jewelry. That apple didn’t fall far from the tree! My Dad taught me and my siblings, all about fishing and how to build or repair things. He also taught my husband, when we started dating. There was never store bought fish in my house as a child or now. I have to say I’m also pretty handy around the house. One memory that I’ll always be grateful for is when me and my Dad, built a large deck onto their summer place in the Poconos. Most of all, I love to spend quality time with my children, especially with my grandson Richie. He’s definitely the apple of my eye. Watching him grow into this wonderful young man, makes me very proud. (Continued on page 2)
