Let’s put trees all over the city.

Green city

The main benefit of urban vegetation can never be taken away: namely its natural beauty. It needs no alibi other than its obvious charm to justify its luxurious presence at the heart of the city which without it would be purely mineral.

Plants and flowers are attractive by their very essence but also offer many other advantages which offer a whole range of benefits for urban Homo sapiens of the 21st century.

Not only are they pleasing to the eye thanks to their aesthetic perfection and the colours that adorn their foliage, they also set the tone for the landscape with their height differences by playing on the distinct heights of façade openings.

And this tiny detail creates a very relaxing effect. If we take a closer look we will see that the fresh foliage is not only interspersed with flowers, but also provides shelter for a little colony of insects who are delighted to be part of our world.

Flowering structures like Steel Garden which emerge above ground outdoors will appeal to us as lovers of this new-found link with the very essence of life. It goes without saying that urban plantations capture CO2 and play a major role in reducing the temperature. We know this and have always known it instinctively.

This is why we love to feel in contact with the ground when surrounded by the backdrop of the city. The world that lies at the heart of all of us is green.
