turquoise that makes a statement
Iz and Oak reflects the genuine spirit of the working cowgirl with a couture spin. Just as the wild west was built on rugged individualism, we believe that today’s cowgirls deserve a wardrobe as unique as they are. We know the clothes we wear are a direct connection to our western way of life.
We love shooting at local spots that capture the charm and spirit of New Mexico
With our love for western fashion, we live by the idea that we are never “just selling clothes”. We are constantly inspired by western women and their strength, creativity and drive. We have a soft spot for pieces and brands that keep our western heritage alive. We are even more passionate about sharing these styles with others.
FASHION INSPIRED BY THE HEART OF THE SOUTHWEST
M E E T
I’m Sage.
My dream to create a western brand rooted in the authentic spirit of the west started my senior year of college. After I obtained my degree in animal science and ranch management, it became a reality. My personal style can almost always be defined by feathers, pink Mojave, and maximum amounts of serape. I’m a true believer that fashion is art! My other passion outside of fashion is working with mules. I’m also a certifiable caffeine addict, Taylor Swift addict, and textbook youngest sibling.
Iz and Oak is inspired by my own personal connection to the rural lifestyle. I grew up in an agricultural community and eventually found my way to riding and showing mules. My mules, Izzy and Oakley, are the longears you’ll recognize in our logo and see hanging around here often.
I hope you find pieces that inspire you here with us!
Growing up in New Mexico gave us a deep appreciation for the beauty and cultural significance of Native American designs.
Turquoise is known as the stone of life or “sky stone” in Native American culture and holds deep ceremonial and spiritual significance. Some legends say that turquoise was created when a tribe cried upon finally receiving rainfall.
We will never stock any inauthentic or plastic turquoise pieces.
a few of our favorite turquoise mines
We are constantly inspired by western women, which is why you’ll find an entire line of graphic tees that are hand drawn by female western artists in our store (many of which are exclusive to Iz and Oak!)
Our artists draw inspiration from their own experiences in the American West- ranging from working on their cattle ranches to range riding in the valleys of Montana.

The Grandpa's Wallpaper tee draws inspiration from farmhouse wallpaper of the artist's late grandfather. The background of the design shows the branding system of the farm's cattle. We love this tribute to western heritage!
wild and woolly
II was always joking about how my sister‘s labradoodle, Laramie, looked like a pair of woolly chaps, and it was the perfect inspiration for this design!
Around here, we ‘ re firm believers that the only thing a cowgirl really needs is a good horse, a good dog, and lots of turquoise. Bonus points if it‘s a heeler!
Our Indian Summer skirt is a true statement piece: made up of beautiful hues of turquoise, spiny oyster purple, and vibrant red in a flattering maxi length. Let the skirt speak for itself and pair it with a simple graphic tee and your favoite cowboy hat!
We carry an entire line of handmade serape pieces by one of our favorite brands- Silverado Apparel, a mother/ daughter duo based out of Texas. While most aztec/ serape patterns you find on the market are just a screen printed pattern on polyester blends, this is the real deal! Genuine woven serape textiles are then hand crafted into stunning statement pieces- including skirts, blouses and jackets. This is the kind of staple piece you keep in your wardrobe for years and reach for time and time again The opposite of fast fashion!
