1
Prep nails thoroughly & wipe with GUARD.
2
Size tips. If nail is between sizes, select the larger size and file the sides in for a better fit. It isn’t essential for the tip to reach all the way to the side walls, you can leave a small gap & blend the edges once tip is secured.
3
Apply a thin layer of clear gel on the natural nail. Freeze cure for 10 seconds so the gel is partly cured and still sticky. This helps to hold the tip in place before curing.
4
Apply slightly thicker layer of clear gel on the underside of tip leaving a slight gap from the sides of the tip so excess gel doesn’t squeeze out. Ensure you extend the gel far enough to cover the length of the natural nail.
5
For an easier application, leave a small gap from the proximal nail fold, then place the tip onto the nail (starting at the nail fold) and then roll tip down towards the free edge, applying gentle pressure. Ensure the uncured gel covers the whole of the natural nail. Hold in place for a few seconds with your thumb with gentle pressure. Watch for air bubbles, and apply more gel if needed.
6
Cure for 30 seconds before proceeding to the next nail, curing one finger at a time. Once all tips have been secured, place all 5 fingers together in the lamp and cure for an additional 30 seconds. NOTE: You may need to keep pressure on the tip before placing the finger in the lamp. If enough gel has been applied on the underside of the tip, it should stay in place without needing to be held in place. You can hold the tip in place if needed & bring the lamp over the the nail for 10-20 seconds before releasing & placing hand in lamp as normal. Alternatively, you can ask your client to help you.
7
Once tips are secure, you may wish to thin out the bottom & sides of the tip if any ridges or bumps have been caused by the gel or the tip isn’t sitting flush on the nail for a smooth & natural looking finish. We recommend a 180 Grit File with gentle pressure. This can also be done prior to tip application if preferred. Finish by lightly buffing the surface of the tip with a 180 Grit Orange Sponge Board and finish with a 240 Grit Blue Sponge Board before removing dust with GUARD. You may wish to perfect and smooth the surface of the tip using clear gel prior to colour gel application if you have overfiled or blended the tip to ensure a smooth finish.

Further Advice & Notes • Cure times given are using Izabelle Hammon Ltd clear gels using an IH LEDUV lamp • We recommend using our LEDUV Black Lamp. • P ractice makes perfect. It may take a few attempts to get used to applying the tips using gel & the correct amount of gel to use. • All Izabelle Hammon Ltd clear base gels can be used for securing clear tips. We do recommend using CALGEL or iZ Pro Base&Build Clear for best & long- lasting results. • Our gels do not require etching of the clear tip prior to application. • Tips can be filed to any shape. You can also apply the tips using our BOND Nail Resin. We would recommend using a base layer of clear on the natural nail before securing tip with resin to protect the natural nail. Apply resin to the underside of the tip before applying the tip to nail and holding in place until the resin has activated. Ensure you cure your base layer of gel thoroughly before applying the tip. If your client has quite flat nails, we would recommend building a curve with clear gel before applying a whole nail clear tip or use our Natural Tips in Style 600. If your client prefers a shorter length, keep the shape on the free-edge and reduce length by filing or clipping the bottom of the tip. The first layer of freeze cured gel (10 second cure) on the natural nail should help keep the tip in place before placing in the lamp. If you need to hold it in place, ask you client to help hold the lamp over the nail. Our LEDUV Black Lamps have a detachable base to make this easier. Applying the tip slightly away from the side walls & nail fold may help avoid gel getting onto the side walls while you get used to the application. Once tip is secured, you can then thin out the bottom of the tip slightly to keep the cuticle area as thin as possible before applying clear gel on top to smooth ridges (if you have over-filed any edges) of the tip before colour application. Further Advice & Notes The clear tips don’t require a reinforcement build layer for strength like traditional half well-tips or gel sculptures as the weight of the tip is distributed over the whole nail. Our clear tip extensions are semi-flexible and so the risk of breakages or snapping is minimised. If applied correctly, they should last until removal. Nail preparation and the base layer of clear are crucial to the longevity; if the base layer of clear starts to lift, so will the tip. Removal is easy; the tips can be removed simply by soaking-off as normal. You may wish to thin down your top layer of gel to help speed up removal. There is no need to soak-off for every colour infill or appointment. Gel can be infilled as normal on top of the clear tips. If you prefer to completely remove the previous colour, we recommend doing a layer of clear on top of the tip before applying your colour so you are able to buff or e-file the colour off to the base of clear (which helps to protect the tip beneath it) before infilling the clear and applying a fresh colour. Our clear nail tips are suitable for use with any gel nail system and can be used with other gel tip extension systems if not being used with one of our clear gels. If using a Clear Gel not supplied by Izabelle Hammon, you may need to etch the underside of the tip for the gel to adhere properly & be sure to follow suppliers curing instructions.
