Yacht Sales OverviewWhat You Need To Know

Selective Buying Amid A More Uncertain Environment

Purchasing activity continued against a backdrop of heightened geopolitical uncertainty and a more cautious macroeconomic environment. While transaction volumes moderated, buyers continued to pursue quality opportunities, particularly where pricing aligned with market expectations. The increase in total sales value despite lower transaction volumes illustrates that demand remained concentrated in higher-value assets. Buyers appeared increasingly selective rather than absent from the market, resulting in a steadier pace of transactions while maintaining healthy activity across the brokerage segment.

Brokerage Provides Stability As New-Build Activity Eases

The moderation in market activity was concentrated primarily within the newbuild sector, while brokerage transactions continued to underpin overall market performance. New-build sales represented 31% of all transactions, compared with 35% in H1 2025, accounting for much of the decline in overall sales volumes. At the same time, brokerage values increased by 13% year-onyear, demonstrating continued activity across the pre-owned market. Inventory remained elevated, providing buyers with a broad selection of opportunities while reinforcing competitive conditions for sellers.

Larger Yachts And The U.S. Market Remain Strong

Market composition remained broadly stable, although larger yachts modestly increased their share of completed transactions. Sales of yachts 50 meters and above increased from 9% to 11% of total transactions, while the average yacht sold increased from 33.7 meters to 34.4 meters. At the same time, the United States accounted for 32% of global sales, increasing its share by 5 percentage points compared with H1 2025. These trends highlight continued resilience at the upper end of the market, where well-priced yachts continued to generate healthy transaction activity despite softer overall conditions.

Global yacht sales moderated during the first half of 2026, with 444 yachts sold, representing a 15% decline 2025. The slowdown was driven primarily by lower new-build activity, while the brokerage market remained comparatively Despite fewer completed transactions, the total value of yachts sold increased to $4.56 billion, supported by brokerage sales value and a 55% increase in new-build sales value. Overall, the market has stabilized at a more activity, following several years of healthy market activity after the exceptionally strong post-pandemic period.
