lanning your own luxury private yacht trip might seem complicated or intimidating. Worry not! For this exact reason, with only one phone call our professional charter consultants are available to help you select the right yacht, plan your itinerary and help arrange all logistics before, during and after your trip. Our aim is to make this process seamless and ensure you have the best experience.

SELECT YOUR DATES When planning your trip, let your charter consultant know the specific dates that you are looking to book your vacation. We recommend that you make your reservations in advance and that you have a few different dates in mind to ensure availability.

You should keep into consideration that holidays and “event� periods are usually in high demand and are often booked several months in advance. Certain yachts may require a 10 day minimum charter during these busy periods.

CHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION Let your charter consultant know the locations that you would like to visit. The Mediterranean is the most popular summer destination, especially during July and August, but you may also enjoy visiting New England, the Caribbean or Alaska. The Caribbean and the Bahamas are the most popular winter yachting destinations.

Yachts in this magazine are categorized per destination, but most yachts are available for charter in the wider area. The speed of your yacht, weather conditions and availability in a particular marina are all factors that will determine the specific locations and number of ports you can visit during your trip. Entering certain countries may be restricted by the yacht flag or its size. Also, make sure that you have the appropriate visa permits to enter the countries you intend to visit.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR PARTY On most yachts, the maximum number of charter guests allowed by law is 12. If you require a yacht that can accommodate a larger party, our consultants will make sure to find you a selection of yachts that are appropriately registered with a larger guest capacity. You should also take into consideration the number of separate cabins and beds available.

CALCULATING CHARTER RATES Charter rates are quoted per week. Charters spanning for more or less than seven days are calculated pro-rata against the weekly rate (divided by seven or six respectively and multiplied by the number of charter days). Charters commence from noon onwards on the first day and terminate by noon on the last day. Some yachts have high season rates that apply to the most popular charter periods and low season rates that apply to all other periods.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITHIN THE CHARTER RATE? Charter rates include the yacht with crew service and all necessary equipment, properly insured for marine risks. Rates do not include VAT, provisioning, fuel charges, electronic communications, canal fees, harbor dues, local taxes and specific marina fees. If embarkation and/or disembarkation take place away from the yacht’s home port, delivery/return fees and expenses will also be charged.

Crew gratuities are not obligatory, but it’s customary to leave 10% to 20% of the total charter fee, upon discretion and based on satisfaction. The best way to ensure that all crew members receive equal recognition is to entrust the distribution of gratuities to the captain or charter consultant.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO SECURE MY CHOSEN YACHT? All charters are subject to a fully executed contract. Once the availability of your chosen yacht has been verified, you will receive a Charter Agreement (MYBA), with a request for a deposit to secure the booking.

The Charter Agreement defines the terms and conditions, obligations and rights of each party.

A deposit of 50% of the total charter fee is required upon signature of the Charter Agreement in order to confirm your booking. The remaining 50%, plus an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), together with any VAT taxes, delivery/redelivery fees and any additionally agreed charges, is due one month before the charter commences.

MAKING SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED ONBOARD Every detail counts. Several weeks before you board your yacht we will ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire describing the preferences and special needs for all members of your party.

This sheet will cover dietary preferences, medical requirements, details on any allergies, favorite activities, sporting and entertainment requests. Knowing your preferences will enable us and the crew to ensure that you have everything that you need onboard.

USING THE YACHT’S AMENITIES During your charter you are allowed to use all amenities on the yacht and enjoy it as if it were your own. When it comes to watersports and scuba diving equipment, in most countries a license is necessary for certain water toys (e.g. jet skis, wave runners and other mechanically propelled watercraft) and there may be an age limit. To utilize the yacht’s Scuba diving equipment, a certified PADI license or equivalent is necessary. If you do not have the required certificates, our team can usually arrange for an instructor to come onboard the yacht during your charter.

It is no wonder that artists like Picasso chose this vibrant coastline for his artistic muse. The Côte D’Azur stretches from Monaco to Iles d’Hyères: a string of cosmopolitan towns lying close enough to one another that enable frequent, casual stopoffs if desired. The coastline also hosts a glittering calendar of events throughout the summer months, from the worldfamous Monaco Grand Prix to the Cannes Film Festival.

CASINO, MONTE CARLO

Monaco, long associated with glamour and exclusivity is the perfect destination to start your charter. Begin your evening with a unique culinary experience at Louis XV before trying your hand at the roulette table at the legendary Monte Carlo Casino.

Saint Tropez is a must see. Anchor for a swim off Club 55 on famed Pampelonne Beach, an extraordinarily long beach said to be the home of the bikini and one of its early proponents, Brigitte Bardot. Dine ashore at Alain Ducasse’s Spoon at Hotel Byblos.

SAINT TROPEZ, FRANCE

Quieter times can be had in the ports of Villefranche and St Jean Cap Ferrat, enthralling with their forests of aromatic eucalyptus, shady parasol pines and countless beaches for sunning and snorkeling. Cap Ferrat is both glamorous and beautiful, yet remains remarkably unspoilt.

Spend the afternoon exploring the town’s old streets and venture to Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild set high on a hill, with dizzying sea views on both sides and a superb art collection.

Cap d’Antibes is a peninsula between Nice and Cannes

known for its grand villas. The marina, overlooked by an imposing stone fortress, harbors several of the world’s largest yachts. Make a dinner reservation at the Eden Roc Hotel and enjoy the stunning views of the bay and beyond.

Make sure to visit the Picasso Museum, housed at the former Château Grimaldi.

The beautiful resort town of Cannes is primarily known for its international film festival that takes place during the month of May. The city’s famous mile long Boulevard de la Croisette is lined with upscale boutiques, sandy beaches and

palatial hotels. Situated at one of Cannes’ premium hotels is La Palme d’Or, the only restaurant in town that holds two Michelin stars. After dinner dance the night away at Bâoli, a nightclub frequented by celebrities.

Just a few miles away is the island of Sainte Marguerite, where nature, relaxation and turquoise waters come together. The island is most famous for its Fort Royal, a prison where the alleged Man in the Iron Mask was held in the 17th century. The shallow waters of Plateau du Milieu is the ideal spot for a swim and snorkeling .

he Aeolian Islands, named after the ancient Greek god of the winds Aeolus, are a volcanic archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea situated to the north of Sicily. Breathtakingly beautiful and diverse in nature, the seven islands and many uninhabited islets of the Aeolian archipelago were claimed a Unesco World Heritage site in 2000.

An amalgamation of stunning waters, rocky coastlines, smoldering craters and black-sand beaches is what makes this region truly unique. Each isle has its individual charm and the archipelago is a paradise for island hopping.

Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands and the most practical place to start your yacht charter. Lipari Town is a picturesque port characterized by its pastel colored buildings and stunning views. For those looking for an easier hike, make your way up to the Gran Craters, which are an hour’s walk from the anchorage of Porto di Ponente.

njoying time on the water is a hugely popular part of yacht ownership and charter and finding the latest and greatest toys and tenders is a constant goal for many yacht owners. With

many seeing water toys as the secret to charter success, ensuring the best and most varied selection for a yacht can be an enjoyable challenge. Luckily, with so many new and exciting products always coming to market there is always plenty of choice.

One new product making waves is the JetSurf, a revolutionary new motorized surf board that is fast becoming a must-have for superyacht owners and charter guests. Designed to be used as a standalone toy, as well as for competitive racing, this fast, light board combines advanced motorsport technology with on-water fun, reaching impressive speeds of up to 55km/h.

Flavien Neyertz believes the JetSurf is the perfect fit for superyachts. “It creates a unique feeling on the water – a mix of snowboarding, surfing, jet skiing and riding a motorbike – and is amazingly versatile. It can be used to explore the coast, cruising, race on flat water, freeride behind a tender and more, creating a water-based experience like no other,” he says. “Guests can have many different experiences with just this one product, it is very easy to use and is accessible for everyone.” At just 12kg, it doesn’t require special storage or a crane to launch it into the water, making it ideal for yacht crew to easily bring out for guests to use.

As well as the JetSurf, Neyertz has plenty of recommendations for what else is up and coming and well worth a look for yacht-goers. A growing trend is the rising popularity in land-based and amphibious craft, which allow guests to seamlessly go from sea to water and make the most of their surroundings. Having a well-equipped tender for longer day trips away from the yacht is also increasingly a must-have for many owners and several new tenders have been developed to meet this demand.

“One exciting new tender is the Anvera 55 ‘tender toy’, which is an amazing mix between a chase tender, a mini shadow boat, a limo tender and a day boat,” Flavien says. CELEBRATE THE 4TH OF JULY IN NEW ENGLAND

very year the Fourth of July, marking American Independence Day, sees celebrations take place all around the US, with fireworks, parades, picnics, barbeques and more. One of the most historic and culturally rich regions in the United States, New England is also home to some of the best celebrations in the country.

Boasting a rich yachting heritage, New England is one of the most popular cruising grounds for superyachts and many will make sure to time their charter around the Fourth of July holiday. Celebrating on board a superyacht will allow you to enjoy spectacular sights of the exhilarating fireworks show while avoiding large crowds, long queues and wearisome traffic.

An official holiday since 1941, festivities for the Fourth of July date back to the American Revolution in the 18th Century. If it’s history you are interested in, then Bristol, Rhode Island, has the most unique parade and the oldest celebration in the States, dating all the way back to 1785. The festivities include a concert series, a spectacular fireworks display, a drum corps show, a firefighters muster and a Fourth of July Ball. he Bahamas islands have lured and captivated seafarers for centuries, enchanting both settlers and traders alike.

Explorer Christopher Columbus landed on San Salvador in 1492 and declared this place to be a ‘baja mar’ or ‘shallow sea’ – and so The Bahamas was named.

The archipelago of the Bahamas is formed from coral, creating 700 islands and cays that contain incredible reefs.

With sheltered waters and schools of tropical fish shimmering beneath the surface, this is a divers’ and snorkellers’ paradise.

Colorful reefs are alive with parrotfish and angelfish, which you can often spot without using a mask. Its warm and kind people echo the temperament of the hospitable Gulf Stream winds, making the Bahamas a prime destination for a yachting vacation.

Nassau is the best-known yachting port in the Bahamas, and it is where a good number of charter vacations begin and end. If you are looking for a slower-paced destination to really relax during your charter, leave the civilization of Nassau and head south to the Exumas. These 365 cays are known for their laid-back way of life, and many of the rich and famous have homes here to escape to. The Exumas archipelago is a shallow cruising ground with depths that allow for private yachts but exclude cruise ships. The ambiance is therefore pristine and quiet, and many charter yachts have secluded white beaches all to themselves.

Highlights in the Exumas include Big Major, where the resident pig Emily wades into the surf to welcome visitors arriving by tender, and Thunderball Grotto, where the James Bond movie “Thunderball” was filmed. You can still snorkel through the cave in which Sean Connery’s Agent 007 hid until he was airlifted to safety. Allan’s Cay, too, is worth a visit to feed the dozens of iguanas that sprint across the sand. Another must-see is the Lucayan National Park on Grand Bahama Island and just 25 miles from Freeport: the largest unchartered system of caves in the world and the only place in which you can see all six of the islands’ ecosystems in one place. Highbourne Cay, offers a beautiful view and is certainly worth taking a hike to the Spring. The island’s eight beaches are among the best kept secrets in the Bahamas.

VICTORY REEF, BIMINI The chain of Bahaman islands that make up Bimini are home to remarkable dive sites. At Victory Reef a dive through the coral covered canyons will bring you face to face with loggerhead turtles and Caribbean reef sharks. For a truly unforgettable dive, visit in February when huge hammerheads gather.

FRENCH CAY, TURKS AND CAICOS Once used as a hideaway by a notorious pirate, French Cay is now a bird sanctuary, and from January to March is one of the best spots for large pelagic encounters. Visibility is often over 100m, and with frequent sightings of Humpback whales it is a perfect choice to do a live aboard trip. For a change of pace, sail a few miles to the nearby Molasses Reef where you’ll find an intriguing, ancient shipwreck.

BLOODY BAY WALL, LITTLE CAYMAN The smallest of the Cayman Islands hides an absolute treasure! The ledge starts at 20 feet and plunges dramatically to a depth of 22,000 feet, covered in the biggest and most exotic sponges you will see. The dazzling coral gardens and crevices are home to a wealth of creatures, and you will see many reef fish including triggerfish, horse-eye jacks and groupers, as well as turtles, sharks and sting rays.

WALKER’S CAY, BAHAMAS For shark diving, Walker’s Cay is a unique opportunity. Sharks are chummed by local dive masters, and the now famous “Shark Rodeo” gives you the chance to dive safely with sometimes hundreds of reef sharks.

THE AQUARIUM, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS As the name suggests, this site off the Western Coast of Spanish Town guarantees fantastic viewing of marine life. In the warm waters of the BVIs you will see a spectacular display of tropical life, from blue tangs and parrotfish to stingrays and nurse sharks.

Trained wreck divers can enter the ship, and experienced divers can explore the rest of the structure including the still recognisable swimming pool.

COW AND CALF ROCKS, US VIRGIN ISLANDS Amazing rock structures make this one of the best locations for snorkelling or shallow dives in the Caribbean. ART AND SUPERYACHTS, THE PERFECT MIX

o often beautiful artwork is a central part of a yacht’s interior design, with superyacht owners often also being passionate art collectors. In fact many consider yachts themselves to be works of art in their own right. IYC places high value on the role of art in the world of luxury yachts and has developed several partnerships and initiatives that help to pair art with superyachts and allow owners to indulge in their love for both.

One of IYC’s latest initiatives is the use of the IYC Fort Lauderdale office as a platform to showcase the work of two talented artists: Ramez Jamali and Igal Fedida. These highly respected creatives each have a unique style that has won them followers around the world. Ramez Jamali has become known for his distinctive use of bright colors and bold shapes, in both figurative and abstract compositions, while Fedida makes use of a variety of materials, including metal, canvas, wood and glass, to emulate the creation of the world through his expressive art.

Select pieces of art from their portfolios have helped to develop a creative and inspiring environment in the Fort Lauderdale office, that is in keeping with the consideration given to superyacht interiors, for IYC clients to enjoy.
