The Ivymount Organization has been a leader in the field of special education for six decades, providing nationally recognized educational and therapeutic programs for children and young adults with unique needs.

Ivymount Outreach extends our exceptional services to the greater community. Highly trained staff from Ivymount School and The Maddux School lead recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs, as well as trainings and consultation across a variety of topics in the field of special education. We’ve also published several curricula and online tools to support professionals and parents.

Club Alliance is a therapeutic summer program for children 6 to 12. Each session includes emotion regulation and social skills interventions that have been rigorously evaluated. Every day the campers are exposed to exciting games and skill building activities. The curriculum is designed to be engaging and fun! Licensed Behavior Analysts provide specialized lessons daily. Technicians help the campers generalize these skills with structured games (indoors and outdoors).The club leaders incorporate technology at times to engage the campers in activities that reinforce the social and emotional skills. However, technology use is kept at a minimum as the club aims for campers to explore a variety of methods to grasp concepts.

Campers are encouraged to apply skills to their daily experiences.

ArtStream

www.art-stream.org Let your creative light shine! Make friends and learn new skills in ArtStream’s creative, collaborative performing arts activities. You will have fun and you will improve communication, self-advocacy, pre-employment, and social skills. ArtStream offers six Theatre companies, four Cabaret companies, and over 850 drama and social skills classes and workshops throughout the DMV. Join us for classes like Musical Theatre, Songwriting, or Super Social Saturday! Come to a show or watch online! Free tickets available for students 16-26 years of age.

The Benedictine School is a 12-month day and residential school for individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and multiple-disabilities, ages 5 to 21. Founded by the Benedictine Sisters, the school is located on 500 acres in Caroline County on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Benedictine's approach to individuals with developmental disabilities is the creation of a supportive and therapeutic environment in which to foster the development of the whole person and to assist the individual in maximizing present and potential strengths. Services include; classroom instruction, Adaptive PE, Music Therapy, and as needed, OT, PT, Speech Therapy, Behavioral Supports, and Vocational Training.

The Best Buddies Living program represents one of our organization's four key mission pillars, Inclusive Living. This program fosters an integrated experience for people with and without IDD to become active, contributing citizens who live independently in a dynamic environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

Bretton Woods is a recreation center. We offer outdoor adventures for neurotypical and non neurotypical adults and children. We offer summer camps with general admission as well as small private groups and one on one adaptive programs. We offer weekend and no school day programs. Our adaptive programs shadow neurotypical adventure experiences with a one on one personal facilitator assigned to the adaptive participant. This personal facilitator will handle additional directions and modify the experience as necessary.

Bridle Paths

www.bridlepathsva.org Bridle Paths is a nonprofit organization based in Leesburg, Virginia that offers meaningful paths to connection, in partnership with horses. Our mission is to offer strength, support, and healing to individuals and families through safe, effective, and high-quality equine-assisted services (EAS). We provide adaptive horseback riding instruction, equine-assisted learning, and equine-assisted psychotherapy services to individuals and families faced with physical, cognitive, psychological, and emotional needs. The program serves those with a wide variety of challenges, including attention deficit disorder, autism spectrum disorders, cognitive impairments, anxiety and depression, genetic disorders, seizure disorders, brain injuries, post-traumatic stress, and trauma.

Camp Inclusion is a day camp in Howard County, Maryland that focuses on social interaction between the campers and their non-disabled peers.

Camp Inclusion creates a unique friendly environment because we only hire middle and high school students to work as volunteers at the camp.

We operate on a 3-1 camper to volunteer/staff ratio. Camp activities include team building games, small sided sports activities, table games, and arts & crafts. Families can sign up for one week or multiple weeks.

DC Autism Parents (DCAP) is a 501(c)3, parent-volunteer run non-profit organization created by parents of children with autism for parents of children with autism. DCAP offers a monthly newsletter, monthly support group, and training for families.

Disability Rights Maryland

Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) works closely with disability communities in Maryland to determine the most critical legal advocacy priorities and leverage our available limited resources. DRM provides a broad array of advocacy services to maintain and increase access to housing, special education, health and mental health care, transportation, employment, and community-based services and preventing abuse, neglect, and discrimination. DRM’s services include providing outreach and education, legal advice and information and referral to individuals, technical assistance and public and private stakeholders, and investigations of suspected abuse, exploitation or neglect. We focus on addressing systemic issues through litigation, policy advocacy and legislation.

Easterseals Camp Fairlee is a traditional, residential summer camp for children and adults with all types of disABILITIES providing accessible recreation and family respite to Maryland families since 1954. Sessions in 2022 vary in length from 6 to 12 days. Health Center and nurses on site.

Activities include canoeing, kayaking, rock wall, zip line, horseback riding, nature trails, swimming, arts / crafts and more! Totally rebuilt in 2015 with modern climate controlled facilities. Accredited by the American Camp Association.

Got Transition is the federally funded national resource center on health care transition. Its aim is to improve transition from pediatric to adult health care through the use of evidence-driven strategies for health care professionals, youth, young adults, and their families.

Great and Small provides Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to children and adults of all ages affected by a range of physical, developmental, emotional, and learning disabilities. Through a supportive and therapeutic engagement with horses, we strengthen and empower our riders, helping them develop their full potential. Our services include weekly therapeutic riding and occupational therapy incorporating hipporthearpy as a treatment strategy, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) in connection with Ten Ten Counseling, group programming, summer camps, and more!

We provide three categories of services: Special Needs Care Navigation, Parent Coaching, and Relationship Development Intervention (RDI). Special Needs Care Navigation involves helping parents figure out what supports to put in place and helping them navigate medical, educational, and community-based systems to access those supports. Parent Coaching involves working with parents to brainstorm challenging situations and behavioral issues so they can put effective supports in place and teach their kids essential skills. Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) is a parent coaching intervention that helps parents of kids with autism to teach their kids the skills that make relationships (and life!) work.

Imagination Stage offers a dedicated and professionally trained Access and Inclusion team that works one-on-one with families and teaching artists to ensure that every student has a space to build theatre arts and social skills, be creative, and have fun. Imagination Stage has in-person classes and camps in a range of acting, musical theatre, performance, dance, and filmmaking for ages 3.5 to grade 12. Integrated Living Opportunities

Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO)is a non-profit organization that creates communities to support adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (whom we call selfadvocates). ILO's long-term goal is to help self-advocates become self-sufficient and to be able to live independently as members of the wider community. ILO helps develop networks of family and friends, as well as social and professional supports, that create the rich environment in which self-advocates can thrive. ILO is the only non-profit organization in the greater Washington, DC region dedicated to helping families and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities prepare for and maintain independent living that is tailored to the needs of the self-advocate. Currently ILO serves 37 families with self-advocates, and 27 of those self-advocates already live independently. ILO facilitated their transitions into the wider community and continues to provide programs that support them.

Our programming for preschool aged children through young adults provides supports for individuals and their families in home and community settings using the principles of applied behavior analysis. Services include assessment and treatment of challenging behaviors and comprehensive or focused in home programs focusing on a wide variety of functional skills. We also offer an Early Childhood Clinic for children ages 2 to 5 years old. Using evidence-based programming, we work collaboratively with families to increase communication, preschool readiness, self-care and play skills. We provide individualized, 1:1 ABA programming, as well as, structured peer play groups, integrated speech and language and OT services.

Ivymount School serves students (ages 4-21) with multiple needs, including learning and intellectual disabilities, speech and language impairments, and autism spectrum disorder. Ivymount supports diploma-bound and certificate track students through nationally-recognized innovative and evidence-based programs that integrate academic, social and pragmatic skills curricula in classrooms with low student/teacher ratios. Meaningful Opportunities for Successful Transitions (MOST) is a one-year individualized program of activities and training designed to facilitate successful transition into the adult community. The MOST™ program serves as a portal for individuals and their families, through which they are introduced and integrated into a broad range of community resources. At the MOST Program, individuals use one year to focus on developing, improving or maintaining life skills needed to establish a transition plan that ensures successful integration into the adult community.

The Music Therapy program at Levine Music provides assessments, individual and group music therapy sessions, and adapted music lessons for individuals of all ages with unique learning needs. Our individualized music therapy services are designed to promote nonmusical growth and development as well as to encourage creative expression through supported music making. We offer yearlong programming, summer programs and mini camps, and partner with community organizations for community-based music therapy services.

Little Leaves is an organization dedicated to helping people with social, communication, and behavioral challenges grow and succeed so that they can participate as fully as possible in their families and communities. Using evidenced-based practices based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), our professionals partner with each family to develop and implement an individualized therapeutic plan.

Main Street is the first member-based, affordable, accessible housing solution in Rockville, MD to redefine the concept of inclusion in a vibrant 10,000 sqft community space within the apartment complex itself. Main Street members do not have to be residents to enjoy a robust calendar of in-person and virtual programs centered around culture, movement and more. Yoga, boxing, Zumba and Friday hangouts occur every week alongside signature one-off events like spice blending, art lectures and professional development workshops. With three membership options to choose from, anyone can come as they are and choose how they participate, learn and connect.

These schools, located across the state, provide high-quality services customized to meet each student’s needs. Students are referred by Local School Systems, which results in no cost for parents. Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) is a state-wide nonprofit dedicated to connecting, supporting and empowering families who are experiencing behavioral health challenges. We also advocate to improve services and systems that impact individuals with behavioral health challenges and to reduce stigma related to behavioral health.

Maryland Relay is a State agency that provides equipment and services for Marylanders who have difficulty using a telephone. Our free public services allow people who are unable to use a standard telephone, to both make and receive phone calls.

Melwood Camp Accomplish www.melwood.org

Camp Accomplish offers options for day and overnight camps, as well as several new specialty camp options. Our Day Camp program runs from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Day campers ages 5-18 enjoy many activities and return home each evening to share the day’s adventures with family and rest up for the next fun-filled day. Campers enjoy a wide variety of daily activities from Monday through Friday afternoon, including equestrian activities, creative and performing arts, sports, climbing wall, adventure activities, nature, horticulture, culinary and so much more. Each camper will have the opportunity to try everything, and for campers who know exactly what they like, we offer the opportunity to choose and focus on specific programs! Camp is a great place for campers aged 5 – 18, to gain independence, make lasting friendships, and explore new opportunities!

Breakfast, Lunch, and Snacks are provided as part of this program.

Mentra

Mentra is a hiring platform that matches neurodiverse professionals (people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, epilepsy, and more) with fulfilling careers to solve the 80% unemployment rate in this community. Mentra was inspired by the founder’s non-speaking autistic brother, and their platform is built by an entirely neurodiverse team who are passionate about creating the next ‘LinkedIn for the neurodiverse’. Mentra’s gamified platform – derived from 2 years of research with the autistic population – enables us to assemble a dataset on neurodiversity that’s never been collected before. Ultimately, Mentra is reaching a massive portion of a highly talented population that has been underserved, despite the immense value and ‘diversity-of-thought’ they bring to the workplace.

Miracle League of Montgomery County www.Miracleleaguemocomd.org

Miracle League offers an opportunity for kids to play baseball in the Spring & Fall at the Washington Nationals Miracle Field in Germantown, Md. (near the Soccerplex fields). We give all kids the opportunity to play, regardless of their disability and financial circumstances. Our specially equipped field is designed to be accessible by disabled children. We play on Sunday afternoons and use volunteer adults and teenage buddies to facilitate play.

Montgomery Parks

M-NCPPC Montgomery Parks is committed to upholding the integrity of the ADA by delivering appropriate and reasonable inclusive service, modifications, and physical accessibility to ensure social equity and inclusion of all citizens. The Program Access office coordinates and manages reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities to be successfully included in countywide programs.

Additionally, the Program Acess office coordinates inclusive special events and works with Parks facility managers and event planners to keep accessibility in mind. Finally, Parks offers a variety of adaptive equipment available throughout the county for people to use at no additional cost.

MyPad

MyPad offers high quality housing, below market rate in great neighborhoods in Montgomery County, Maryland, to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Optional customizable supports and services that are designed by and with MyPad participants are available. MyPad offers monthly activities including cooking club, as well as, monthly mingles (which include rock climbing, barbeques, swim parties, and sporting events) to foster friendship among peers.

Most MyPad participants elect to have a roommate but it is possible to rent as a single resident.
