Beaded Allure Designs by Kimberly LLC, "placing beauty at your fingertips," is the overall goal of my business. As a little girl, I was raised around family members with a knack for creativity. From my great-aunt making macramé planters and purses to my grandfather building things around the house and being surrounded by my granny's thimbles, bobbles of thread, and bolts of fabric. Creativity, as it relates to crafts, seems to come naturally to me with the right equipment on hand.
My business was born from a Christmas gift suggested by my daughter (and paid for by my husband, LOL) and lots of encouragement from family and friends. Ultimately taking a 'blank' to something beautiful puts me in my happy zone. My product line has evolved from beaded embellished pens to candles and home fragrances with custom t-shirts and tumblers in the middle.
During the summer of 2022, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Kids Rock Summer camp in Rockledge, FL. I marveled at the chance to help children tap into their creative side. During these three days, I worked with children ranging from VPK-7th grade on theme-associated projects.
Positively Impacting the Community
All of which was in preparation for their Kid Rock Entrepreneurs Day. We completed projects that walked them through business idea brainstorming and following steps in a specific order to complete a task or project. We worked on their project presentation to ensure high customer engagement and sales.
Challenges Establishing and maintaining a
proper work-life balance has always been a challenge. Being a small business owner is not my career but an additional task on my list. I am a pastor's wife, a mother, a registered nurse in a high demand job, youth ministry director, and I am actively involved in my sorority. I am often wearing multiple hats at the same time which can be challenging but in those moments I take solace in resting in my happy place.
New Opportunities In 2022, our home fragrance product line, “Beaded Scents” was launched. We offer a variety of all-natural candles and wax melts that are hand poured in small batches using high-quality ingredients. This year we are excited to offer the “Beaded Scents Experience,” where participants can create their own home fragrance wax product in a private party-type setting.

Through prayer, follow your dreams and talents. Please do your research; I believe there are endless opportunities to learn and grow within your business. Encourage yourself daily. I am determined to avoid competing with the next crafter and perfect the products I want to offer my customers. Stay confident but HUMBLE. I have learned from 1 Peter 5:6-7 to remain humble, and God will exalt me and my business in due time.
