I am happy to share several important updates in this issue of the IUOE Local 877 newsletter. First let me say, we are frequently updating the job openings posted on our website. Please reach out if you’re interested in any opportunities listed there. We are preparing for another busy summer season and I look forward to supporting our members.

Speaking of which, our members are hard at work maintaining five ABM/ Able Engineering worksites throughout Boston. We are proud to have ratified four renewed contracts and won one new contract for our members. See pages 4-5 for a glimpse of the hard work on display across those sites.

Worksite Spotlight:

ABM/Able Engineering

Members of Local 877 are responsible for the maintenance of several important buildings throughout Boston. We are proud to share that we recently ratified five contracts with ABM/Able Engineering worksites in Boston, including a new building: 23 FID Kennedy Ave. This is a wall-to-wall win for operating engineers!

Recently, we captured our hardworking members showing off their skills and expertise on-site at these five locations. Thanks to the dedication of our members, the Boston community continues to thrive.

Scholarship Announcement

The Local 877 annual scholarship application is open now! Children or grandchildren of current Local 877 members can apply for this scholarship for (7) $1,000 winners and (1) $2,000 winner. Applications are due on Friday, July 19 so don’t delay!

In order to be eligible for an award, the student must:

♦ Be the child or grandchild of a current Local 877 member in good standing

♦ Be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited post-high school education institution

♦ Complete the scholarship application

♦ Submit an official copy of his or her most recent school transcript (copies or printouts from the school’s website will not be accepted)

♦ Submit a 500-word essay.
