醫療設計

Fínn is a vest designed for the elderly people to cover their body, while they exit the bathroom. It is expected to prevent the possibility of cardiovascular disease caused by the temperature change between the bathroom and the livingroom during the winter may rise.

Fínn 是一件專為老年人設計的防風加熱背心，預防在冬天的時候， 因為浴室和房間之間的溫度冷熱差引發心血管疾病。

Temperature Difference

在溫度低的時候人的血壓普遍會升高，這代表有更高的機會得到心血管疾病。室外 的溫度冷熱差可以透過天氣預報去了解，然而室內的溫度差是人們不太會關心的。

Blood pressure is normally higher in cold season when the body exposure to the cold, the possibilty of the cardiovascular disease will increase. Changes in out outdoor temperature would be concerned through the daily weather forecast, however we may not pay that much attention for the indoor temperature changes.

在中醫的領域中，氣溫驟降會使得身體產生各類疾病，其中以頸部、肚臍、背部、 膝蓋、腳掌為最不能受冷的部位。

Due to the knowledge of traditional chinese medicine, some parts of our body would cause a few symptoms when they being under cold.

Difficulty of dressing up

當人的年紀漸漸增長後，移動力與靈巧度會同是降低。關節處會變得沒有彈性與更 為僵硬，這導致他們的生活增加許多的不方便性，也包刮在穿衣服的時候。

When people get older, the mobility and dexerity would decease at the same time. The joints become less flexible and stiffer, which would cause problem during the daily tasks, including putting on clothing.

如何保留熱能

How to keep the heat

衣服中使用了兩種不同的材質，在外層使用防風材質，內層使用保溫的布料。兩層 布料之中再置入了充電式的加熱墊，如此便能達成徹底的保留熱能。

Two kinds of fabric are used, which are trench coat for the outer and thermal underwear beside the skin. Also, a heating pad is inserted between two fabric layers. The purpose is to be windproof and to keep the heat from the body at the same time.

從無障礙服裝中學習

Research of self-adapting clothing

近期越來越多的時尚品牌將注意力放到殘疾人士的需求，推出了一系列的無障礙服 裝，其中使用了魔鬼氈或者磁鐵代替在一般款式中的拉鍊，至於外觀則並無差別。

Recently a few brands in the fashion industry have published their new branches for disabilities. Using velcro or magnetic zipper inside of the clothes would make them look same just as we are.

當我在思考這件背心究竟應該要有什麼樣的外觀時，腦海中閃過各種不同樣式的 服飾，然而，最重要的核心就是要讓它有著不同於醫療器材的樣貌，如此老年人 便不會對於穿著它感到羞恥。

When I go through the process of thinking how the vest should look like, however, there many different kinds of styles come into my mind. The main idea is to make it look fashionable, so that the elderly wouldn’t be afraid of wearing it because afraid of wearing medical device.

經典款式的足球衣在近期非常的流行，而且我認為蠻適合從它作為外觀的參考。 因為它同時具有時尚的元素，同時具有充足的機能性，這也就是我希望能賦予 Fínn的核心理念。

Retro football shirts are currently on the trend and I think it is a suitable moodboard for the outlook of vest, because they are both fashion and functional, which perfectly matches my core idea.

Volkswagen x Speedskate

品牌x造型x特徵是一個對於剛開始涉足產品設計領域的學生很 好的練習。在這個作品中需要調查一個品牌的設計語彙，不管是 從造型或是特徵著手，最後產出這品牌沒有生產過的全新產品。

Brand x Form x Feature is a design practice for the industrial design students, who just starts designing products. In this project, we should do research of both form and feature from a band we choose, and come out with a new product.

在國小三年級之前，直排輪可以說是一項我投入非常多時間的 興趣。每到假日，我們全家就會驅車前往各個縣市參加比賽。

Before the third grade in the primary school, inlineskating is the activity that I spent plenty of weekends with it. Even more, my whole family would drive to many places in order to attend the competitions.

Why Volkswagen/ 福斯一直以來以其經典的設計為名，比如說是金龜車和T系列的 貨車。他們有著獨特和容易識別的設計語言，簡潔、功能和實用 化。除此之外，家庭也是福斯非常重要的品牌價值。

Volkswagen is known for its timeless and classic designs, such as the iconic Beetle and the Volkswagen Bus. The brand has a distinct and recognizable style that is often associated with simplicity, functionality, and practicality. Volkswagen has also a strong brand identity that is built around values of familyfriendliness.

Why the Beetles/

自從金龜車在60年代開始變得熱門後，它稱得上福斯最為經典的車款之 一。儘管能夠從各代不同的的金龜車觀察出外觀的不同，然而卻又能識 出他們共同分享相同的核心設計語彙。

Beetle is one of the most iconic model from Volkswagen since it became popular in the 1960s. From then on, there are some changes in many ways from the beetle. Overall, we could still see the core design language from the oldest one to the modernest one.

在草模中我擷取了金龜車的曲面元素，不管是俯視抑或是側視的角度。

若是將金龜車的造型簡化成幾何結構，則可以視為大的球體和小的球體 的結合，因此我會將這些元素放到直排輪中。

Beetle is obviously mostly rounded looking from the top and beside it, which can be seen in my model. Also, looking at it as a geometric way , it is composed of one big circle and another smaller one. Therefore, I have thought about my design this way with circles and then shape it as a shoe.

從銳利到圓角

From edgy to curvy

一開始非常容易忽略了金龜車的設計語彙，而只專注在鞋子本身。經過 多次在紙上描繪造型，學習到如何使鞋子保持簡單的外觀，以及對稱。

In the begining, it's very easy to miss the feature from the Volkswagen beetle during the sketching. Through more times of drawing, I learn how to keep the shape as simple as possible, and let the shoe look symmetrical, because of the car brand.

Wan Zhu Material: Bamboo,Rice Straw,Indigo Dye

近幾年環保議題因為其重要性，不斷的在各個國家被討論。而身為學生，

在課堂中聽過無數次減少碳排放的做法，好比多搭捷運並減少自行開車。

不過對於在居家中環保的議題卻是比較少被討論的。

In the recent years, “eco-friendly” is a frequently discussed topic in many countries. As a student, we are taught to reduce the carbon dioxide in course, for example, we should take the MRT as a better choice, rather than driving our own car. However, we don't really talk about what to do at home.

彎竹所使用的竹子取用自大自然，除此之外與另一個材料稻稈皆是生長 非常快速的植物。另一個優點是其生長的從北到南都有它的蹤影，這樣 子也能夠減少運送途中的碳排放。

Wan Zhu is a bamboo chair, which choose the materials directly from the nature. Bamboo and rice straw are two materials that heighten in a very short time. Besides, they can be seen over different places from north to south in Taiwan. We can benifit from lowering the amount of carbon dioxide by shorten shipping distance.

Better economic status than before. Some brands want the consumers to buy more/ The quality of the products is dropping.

更多不可回收的垃圾，同時產品的壽命循環變小

More garbages that can not recycle, and the lifecycle of products is changing to be smaller.

2002年永續設計這個詞被發明，人類應該要了解生產的產品是要能長久使用 的或使，或者是幫他找到第二個生命。

In 2002 the word "eco design" is made. Our human should aware more on sustainable production and design, and the product ought to reach the end of their useful life in a suitable condition to be put to new uses.

The advantage of bamboo is that it only takes 4 monthes to grow up from the bamboo shoot to bamboo. There are two harvest season in Taiwan, which is May to June and October to November. The growth period of rice are 4 monthes.

在台灣稻子一年有兩季，分別是5、6月和10、11月， 長達4個月

使用就近的材料除了能夠減少炭排放也能幫助周遭農民

It is also friendly to the local sellers and farmers by using the materials nearby.

現代人的生活作息與手機發明前很不一樣，這能從在家中的坐姿來解析

Modern human has a lot of changes in our everyday life because of the invention of smartphone. We can see the transformation with the posture at home.

使用方圓100公里以內的材料能夠減少運送的碳排放量 不對材料使用太複雜的加工方式以及有毒的黏膠

The material that it is made of comes from somewhere less than 100 kilometer radius, it would be able to reduce the carbon dioxide while transporting it.

Not using too complicated way working on the natural materials, including poisonous glue.

Design Process

永續設計代表著設計師需要實驗新的材料，在這件作品中我嘗試了以往沒有碰過得竹子

以及稻稈，因此我花了很多的時間在嘗試這幾種材料的使用方式。

Sustainable design means somehow the designer should experiment a new combinition of materials. In this case, bamboo and rice straw are quite new to me, I haven't use them as the material to build model before. I spend most part of my time during te bamboo curving, making sure the curvature measure up to what it needs to look comfortable. Rice straw is another part, which is not easy to handle, because the inside of it is still moist. I have to dry them out in the maschine, and withdraw the dirty and rotting area.

裝置需要可以達成行走20公尺的距離，全程不能將腳落於地面，不論快或慢。

或許聽起來蠻簡單的，不過很多人最終無法成功。

In the presentation, the device should be able to move 20 meters without the feet touching the ground, no matter fast or slow. This might sound not so hard, however many students aren't able to reach the goal for the distance.

我和宗楠在討論的階段冒出了一個很酷的想法，也就是在一隻怪獸的身體中操控 它移動，我們決定使用金屬來打造人獸嵌合體。

Zong Nan and I imagine drving in the body of a monster would be pretty cool, so we accomplish it with a full mechanical device, which only made of metal.

運用牙棒和螺絲組合裝置

Drill the holes on our steel sticks, and connect different parts with the screw

當某個部位有誤則可以簡單更換

The benifits is that if a small part doesn't work well, we can depart them easily, and drill another hole before long.

The whole device is composed of three steel sticks, and they have different functions while moving.

Besides the wheels, it is the only part that attach the ground, so the friction between the stick and the floor is very important in this situation. We addtionaly add recycled tire on the attaching part, in order to move smoother.

The function of stick 2 is that it is the bridge between stick 1 and 3. When the stick 3 is tended to move upward, it helps stick 1 go another direction.

It is the part that we two hold on, and be able to takin control, whether to shift forward or backward.
