James Hardie James Hardie is replacing the Hardie™ Castellated Batten with the new and improved Hardie™ Structural Batten, which features optimised performance and increased application scope, including steel frame compatibility. With a compatible 35mm PVC Cavity vent strip, James Hardie’s new installation system creates a 35mm cavity.

James Hardie have also taken the opportunity to review and optimise the Hardie™ Oblique™ Cladding and Stria™ Cladding board lengths. Hardie™ Oblique™ Cladding and Stria™ Cladding are now available in 3000mm board lengths. To accommodate the trend of larger ceiling heights in modern Australian homes, a 3000mm board length for vertical cladding provides greater coverage to help reduce wastage on site.
Available in both 4200mm, and now 3000mm plank lengths, Hardie™ Oblique™ Cladding and Stria™ Cladding and can both be installed vertically and horizontally.

Due to this trend, the new 3000mm board length replaces the 2750mm board lengths for Hardie™ Oblique™ Cladding. The new 3000mm lengths better suit common wall heights and 4200m lengths give tall walls a continuous look, reducing the need for horizontal joints.
