Itasca Park District Mission Statement The mission of the Itasca Park District is to efficiently and economically provide education, recreation, facilities and open space that are designed to provide health and wellness, social equity and conservation experiences that benefit the community.

Accessibility for People with Special Needs The Itasca Park District welcomes the opportunity to assist guests with disabilities to enjoy ALL of our facilities, programs, and services.

Nothing ruins a good program quicker... than everyone waiting until the last minute to register. Please register one week prior to the first class to avoid disappointment.

Conduct Policy Behavior: Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times.

The following guidelines have been developed to help make Itasca Park District programs safe and enjoyable for all participants. The Park District reserves the right to develop additional rules for particular programs and athletic leagues as deemed necessary by staff and the park board. Participants shall: ■ Show respect to all participants and staff ■ Refrain from using foul language ■ Refrain from causing bodily harm to other participants or staff ■ Refrain from damaging equipment, supplies, and facilities Discipline: Itasca Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant for infraction of the code of conduct. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit.

Trap

Do you have the luck of the Irish on your side to catch Itasca's mischievous leprechaun? The Park District has the inside scoop and knows when the leprechaun will be running around Itasca, leaving a trail of green items and even some gold coins in people's front yards. Set a trap in your front lawn and see if you can catch him!

Don't be surprised if he leaves green items and trinkets to find in your front lawn, along with some gold coins around your trap. Make sure traps are set out in the front lawn on Monday, March 15th between 12:00-3:00 pm. This program is limited to Itasca Park District and Village Residents. Flashlight Hunt

Lucky, Itasca's Leprechaun, is helping us celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a Flashlight Hunt at Washington Park! The Itasca Bunny is hopping around town and visiting Itasca Park District and Village Residents. Participants will get a 5-10 minute driveway visit from the bunny and bunny basket! The first child in the household is $25, and any additional children are $15.

Masks are required, except during pictures. Please plan to be home and ready anytime between 9:30 am and 12:00 pm. A more specific time frame will be emailed the day before. Boozy Bunny Egg Hunt

This year is going to take some serious perseverance – make THE that perseBEERance. We are turning the Softball Complex DATE! parking lot and fields into an Ale-Gate for a 90-minute tasting window to enjoy some beer, sunshine, and friends. Sign up for the window that works best for you! Pack your tents, chairs, yard games, and food to make your Ale-Gate an afternoon of fun! Sign up for a spot that is claimed by your social group. Each spot will belong exclusively to that friends/family pod. Your party can check in 30 minutes before your first pour. First pours will begin right at your event time. Each tasting has selected a flavored popcorn to pair with their craft beer.

Our day is limited, so pre-registration is required. Like a beer? Order a pack To Go, and we will have it delivered directly to your Ale-Gate spot. Masks will be required when outside your assigned Ale-Gate area and when interacting with staff. Must social distance from other Ale-Gate pods. More information and registration to follow.

The Itasca Bunny will be hiding eggs at Washington Park this year! Register each child, ages 0 through 14, for one of the three time slots. Egg hunts will promptly begin five minutes after the start of each time slot. After the egg hunt, each family will have an opportunity to take a picture with the Itasca Bunny! Dr. Seuss Science Camp NEW ACTIVITIES

Little ones, join our Young Explorers Summer Camp designed especially for the youngest nature enthusiasts. Learn about Itasca Nature Center's wild animals and get the chance to meet some live critters. Each session will feature a nature walk, art project, snack, and a story based on the animal of the day. All of our Early Childhood Education classes follow the Itasca School District #10 calendar for holidays and weather-related closings.

Inter-Village Soccer League

Registration will be accepted on first-come, first-serve basis on dates listed below. Participants will be informed of team placement by their coach on or before Tuesday, March 23rd. *Participants must register in the age division designated by their grade.

Practices and Games

Itasca Inter-Village Soccer plays in the Mid Suburban Soccer League other districts included are Addison, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, Medinah, Roselle, Villa Park and Wood Dale. Practices are once or twice per week with practice days and times at the discretion of the coach. Games will be played on Sundays April 17-June 12. No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend. Time and location of games will determined by league schedules which will be determined no later than Saturday, April 15.

Uniforms

All players must wear an Itasca Park District uniform. Uniforms must be purchased at the time of Registration. A sample of all sizes will be available at the registration desk. A complete uniform consists of a jersey, shorts, socks, shin guards and soccer shoes. Equipment

All participants are required to wear shin guards underneath their socks at all practices and games. Players must bring a soccer ball to practice each day.U6 & U8 will need to have a Size 3 ball; U10 will need to purchase a Size 4 ball, while U12 and U14 will need a Size 5 ball.

Coaches

The Itasca Park District Soccer League is extremely popular and has a large number of participants and teams. Without our fantastic volunteer coaches we would be unable to offer such a wonderful program. The park district is currently looking for parents or adults to volunteer as a coach or an assistant coach. Please indicate on your child's registration form if you are interested in coaching.

Co-ed Soccer League Each team will practice approximately one day a week and play a sevengame schedule.*No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend. Coed Soccer League Spring soccer will be playing with a new format in accordance with the US Youth Soccer organization. Smaller fields and teams will allow for players to achieve the following: to touch the soccer ball more often which will enhance their individual technique and tactical development, receive more individual teaching time with their coach, receive more involved playing time in games, and most importantly to have more opportunities to score to enhance excitement.

U6 Micro Soccer Micro Soccer is a scaled-down version of the game of soccer specifically designed for young children. Children will play 3 vs. 3 on a smaller soccer field. This class will teach kids about track and field, one of the oldest sports that continues to grow and is highlighted by the Olympics every 4 years. Boys and girls will learn the jumping, running, and throwing skills involved in the sport of track and field. They will practice sprints, relays, long-distance walking, running hurdles, long jump, discus throw, and other track and field events as well as participate in a fun-filled SportsKids track and field meet on the last day of the clinic. The Competitive Gymnastics Program Our girls’ gymnastics team is in its 33th year. We participate in USAG; levels 4-10 and also the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). We compete in local meets as well as out of state; our girls consistently qualify to the State and Regional meets. Participation on this team is by invitation only. Please call to set up an appointment for evaluation. We are always looking for new faces to join our team.
