What's new? KG1 Exit Point KG1 students did a super job showcasing their amazing learning from their first unit “This is me!”. Over the past few weeks, they have been exploring what makes them special and unique. Looking at what they like, what they look like, where they live, people who are special to them and their bodies. As well as, they learnt how to keep healthy and clean. We are very proud of our KG1 students and how well they have settled into their new routines. What happened in Hamilton Qatar Academic Committee Curricular Alignment Project The Hamilton International School is proud to work alongside the Qatar Academic Committee chaired by Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums. The aim of the committee is to collaborate with schools across Qatar, creating highquality teaching and learning opportunities on Qatar’s heritage and culture that accompany learning opportunities within the Qatar Museums. Mrs McLean has been working on the committee for the past two years developing lessons to bring learning in the National Museum to life. Last week, KG2SO had the opportunity to experience one of the lessons based on Dugongs. Students explored a picture book: Sirenia A little dugong’s tale, before looking at the interactive and informative video resources the museum has which support this learning. The lesson ended with writing postcards to Sirenia about how citizens and residents in Qatar can help care for Dugongs off our shores. We look forward to continuing to develop opportunities for these lessons and visits to the museums within our school curriculum. We would like to encourage all students across the school to visit and explore the museums across Qatar to support their learning inside the classroom, for more information on exhibitions and topics please visit: Qatar Museums - Qatar Museums (qm.org.qa). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs McLean.

Important Announcement Lanyards To support the safety of our children at school, one of the key safeguarding measures we take at Hamilton is issuing a lanyard to all parents, visitors, contractors and staff members.

Navy Blue - Staff

Red - Parent

Black - Contactor

White - Visitor

If you still do not have a lanyard, please inform your class teacher directly and pick it up from Reception. From the 8th of October, if you try to enter the school premises without your lanyard, then the Facilities team will be required to take your QID and give you a temporary lanyard, before returning your QID back to you when you leave the site. This takes time and will no doubt be frustrating, so please have it with you at all times. Please note that lanyard replacement will cost 50QR. if you have any questions, kindly contact Ms. Katrina at kchaplin@this.qa or Ms. Sarah at ssaleh@this.qa
