What's new? Music Performance We had an unforgettable music recital when our remarkable grade 10 and 11 students graced the stage in the music room. They poured their hearts and souls into their performances, each note resonating with passion and dedication, from Greek traditional music to lively rock songs and everything in between. We were truly inspired by the depth of their talents and can't wait to see where their musical journeys take them next.

What happened in Hamilton G6 - Social Studies Our Grade 6 students are learning about the three main areas of geography in their social studies lessons. Students have created and presented their landscape in a box; designed to be an engaging and ceeative way to solidify their understanding of physical, human, and environmental geography, G4 Parent Panel Our Grade 4 has set off their new English genre, ‘Stories From Other Cultures’ by inviting a panel of special guests to share a story with the students. They had 3 parents volunteer to come and tell stories of trust, hope, adventure, friendship, and determination. We also had Mr. Senior, the principal of the school who joined them to tell a fascinating story about his family connection, a survivor from the Titanic! Our students are looking forward to engaging and immersing themselves more in the genre over the next week. We sincerely thank and appreciate our volunteers for their time and effort, The students and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed it! Secondary Assembly Our Grade 8 students have been developing their English skills by analysing and explaining the Hamilton school logo and our school vision of Igniting Passion, Purpose, and Potential. Students developed their ideas in class and for homework and presented this in our whole school assembly. They took it in turns to share their ideas whilst explaining the different aspects of the school logo and vision and analysing the English elements to each part.
What happened in Hamilton Grade 1 - Parent Panel Today, our Grade 1 students had a Parent Panel event in the main theatre, parents were invited to come and share their stories about their jobs and careers. Parent Council Hamilton International will be hosting International Student's Day on November 2, 2023. We are so happy to be able to have parents on site along with the students to celebrate the amazing diversity of The Hamilton International School. We have 90 nationalities that make up our student body, which is incredible! How can you get involved? We are looking for parents who would be interested in hosting or helping out at their home Country's Stall. Our goal is to be able to have almost all 90 countries represented. You can work as a team with other parents from your home country to help organize, cook, set up, etc. It would be helpful if each country had a Country leader to help take the lead. You can also team up with another country and share a table. You can provide food, games, activities, and/or trivia questions at your table. Come dressed in your country's cultural dress or flag colors to get into the spirit. Each table should be decorated to show off your country's identity. We want the students and parents visiting each table to leave with a bit of knowledge about each country. We know that some of you may be traveling home during the October break or will need time to purchase items for International Student's Day and we wanted to ensure that we give all parents time to do that. We thank you in advance for the time, energy, and resources it will take for this event to be successful. Many hands make light work! We do not have the schedule for the day yet but it will follow closely last year's timings. The parade will start somewhere near 9:00 AM, followed by the students/parents visiting the Country Stalls (you will have time to setup your stalls before the parade), we will have some time to take down our Stalls and tidy up before we end the day with some performances in the theatre before pickup time. Please check out the link below to see a video from last year's International Student's Day to give you an idea of what the Country Stalls look like and what the event is all about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHJNFTqUdg8 We have divided the countries into 4 WhatsApp groups to help with the flow of communication. Please join the WhatsApp group that correlates with your Country.
