What's new? Secondary Assembly This week our Secondary students had a special assembly where we celebrated excellence across the Secondary School. Students were congratulated for their hard work and dedication across a range of fields. The Gallery of Excellence in Secondary School, which showcases examples of excellent work, has recently been updated with student work from the first semester. Students were recognised in the assembly for having their work selected for The Gallery of Excellence. We also enjoyed two musical recitals, from Egor Banshchitov playing piano, and Katarina Vulic playing the violin. Both Egor and Katarina have dedicated hundreds of hours of their time to refine their musical skills and abilities. Their performances, we are sure will have inspired others in their pursuit of excellence. During the assembly, the Middle School Student Council and High School Student Council representatives were announced. Students across the Secondary School have had the opportunity to stand for a number of roles and have undergone a rigorous selections process. High School students not only had to complete an initial application, but also had to prepare and deliver a speech in front of their peers and sit a panel interview, consisting of staff and a student representative. We are very excited about the ideas that students already have to help further improve and enhance our Secondary School and we are looking forward to the Student Councils being a driving force for positive change in school. Finally during the assembly, we had the pleasure of announcing the Principal's Scholarship Award 2023-24. This year's deserving recipient was Taylen Jacobs from Grade 10. Taylen not only represents the Hamilton Core Values on a daily basis, but he also volunteers his time to support a wide range of school events, has represented Hamilton in sporting and non-sporting competitions and achieves outstanding grades in his academics. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob's were invited to join us for the event, to hear accolades from Mr. Senior and to witness Taylen receive his award and well-deserved applause. We are confident that Taylen will continue to inspire the student community at Hamilton to give their best and fulfil their potential.

What happened in Hamilton
Secondary Assembly Hamilton’s grade 11 students recently had the opportunity to explore a variety of academic and career prospects during a field trip to the Najah University Fair, held at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC). This event provided students with insights into higher education choices. Over 50 exhibitors from different parts of the world were present at the QNCC venue, offering visitors the chance to learn about different academic programs and potential career paths. Students engaged in discussions with university representatives to gather information about admissions requirements, programs and opportunities. The Najah University Fair aimed to inform and inspire students as they navigated their academic futures. It offered valuable information and served as a platform for students to make informed decisions about their higher education options. Important Announcement Dear Parents, Your opinion matters to us at The Hamilton International School, and as an ISP school, we are always striving to get better. For this reason, we ask you to fill in this short, anonymous, online parent survey twice a year. In addition to our other parent surveys, your feedback in this pulse survey will help us understand how you feel about our school. Please find the survey link below,
This short pulse survey is based on the Net Promoter Score concept (or NPS) and provides ISP and our schools with a snapshot of how you, our families, feel about your school. To find out more about how NPS works, please read below.
NPS NPS was first developed in 2003 by Bain & Co. It stands for Net Promoter Score and measures loyalty to a company. It’s used by companies worldwide and is based on a single question: “How likely is it that you would recommend X to a friend or colleague?”. The response choices range from 0 (not at all likely) to 10 (extremely likely), and respondents are put into one of three groups:
The NPS is then calculated by subtracting the % of detractors from the % of promoters. NPS surveys for our families work in the same way. It asks the same question of families “How likely are you to recommend X to a friend?” and puts them into one of the same three groups. Your feedback is invaluable, and we reassure you that your responses will be completely confidential and untraceable. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to share your views with us. Best wishes, Terry Senior Principal
