What's on in Hamilton

KG1 Trip This semester the children have been provided with the opportunity to explore “Weather Wonders” unit where they were supported to develop their understanding of seasons, weather, and climates. The children took a trip to the Snow Dunes in Doha Festival City Mall and were able to experience the feel and texture of snow and ice. The children had great fun building snow men, creating snow silhouettes and of course having a snowball fight. The children enjoyed linking this practical and hands on learning with their previous experiences and were eager to share stories of their own family holidays in the Winter snow.

KG1 - Exit Point Our KG1 students celebrated the end of their unit “Weather Wonders” by inviting their parents into school and showcasing their learning. The children were encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite season and it was wonderful to see all of the creative and unique costumes. During the exit point the children showcased their natural talents by performing the songs “Mr Sun”, “Rain, Rain, Go Away” and “Incy Wincy Spider” before engaging in some unit related activities with the help of their parents. For example, they made craft umbrella, sugar cube igloos, and packed a suitcase to go on holidays. Both the parents and children had a fantastic afternoon, and it was great to have so many parents present to celebrate the occasion.

What's on in Hamilton G2 - Visitors What an exciting day it was for Grade 2! We had the pleasure of welcoming two wonderful safety visitors who taught us all about the importance of keeping our bodies safe and healthy. During their visit, the children learned valuable lessons about car safety, how to help themselves and others during emergencies, such as broken bones and burns and that visits to the hospital or from a paramedic don't have to be scary experiences. The highlight of the visit was when the children got to test out oxygen masks and witness how vitals are checked during a hospital visit. It was an interactive and engaging experience that left the children feeling empowered and knowledgeable about their own well-being. But it wasn't just educational—it was loads of fun too! A big thank you goes out to Rohan and Zenri, the lovely helpers who made this visit possible.
