What's new? Thank you Gift Bag Celebration As part of Hamilton’s core values, students have been learning about their role as global citizens. Through assemblies and class discussions, students have explored how to actively participate in their community and work with others to make our planet more peaceful, sustainable, and fairer. Grade 4 and 5 students came up with the amazing initiative of ‘Thank you gift bags’ for Hamilton’s security, cleaning, and maintenance staff. These staff members were recognized for their exceptional hard work keeping Hamilton safe and clean for students. Grade 4 and 5 students worked together to collect various donations, including food items and confectionary; with the support of class teachers, students organized a gift bag celebration. Through this initiative, students have developed their skills in collaboration and , leadership. They have also understood that they have the power to act and influence the world around them. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all our families who supported and donated towards this initiative.

What's on in Hamilton Grade 4 Exit Point Our Grade 4 students had their Exit Point - 'Here and Now, There and Then'. The children learned how to read an atlas while locating different countries and their capital cities. From this, the children had to find key information about each capital city, such as population, currency, and economic status. The children focused on grid references and locating different objects around the school while finishing off with completing a bird's eye view of Hamilton School.

The Wizard of Oz Dear Parents and Guardians, We are pleased to announce that our Arts Department will be showcasing our students' talents in a reworking of the American children’s classic, ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The show features students from both the Primary and Secondary School who have come together under the direction of Mr Jugue and Mr Loughrey. We are excited to present our first-ever school production which incorporates drama, music and dance and will be hosted in the Hamilton Theatre. We cordially invite you, your family and your friends to join Dorothy in the Land of Oz, along with her newfound friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Lion for an evening of entertainment. Dates: Tuesday 9th May 2023 and Wednesday 10th May 2023 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm (Doors open at 5:30 pm) Cost: 35QAR. Children under three years old can enter for free Additional Information: How can I purchase tickets? Tickets can be purchased: from Q-Ticket through the following link https://events.qtickets.com/eventDetail/3944540658/The-Wizard-of-OZ in cash from the reception, 15 minutes before the start and 15 minutes after the end of each school day Secondary School students can purchase tickets directly from Ms Sturmheit, in the Pastoral Leaders Office Can I bring a friend or a neighbour? Of course you can! They will need to register with their Qatar ID at the reception when you arrive in the evening. Where do I park? Please use Gate 3 to park and enter. Will refreshments be available? The parent council will be selling popcorn and soft beverages prior to the show commencing. Can I drop off my children and leave? All Primary School children must be accompanied by an adult. Secondary School students are allowed to enter without an adult accompanying them, however, they must be collected at the end of the evening by a designated adult. If behaviour does not meet Hamilton’s expectations, then you will politely be asked to leave.
Secondary School Parent's Evenings Following on from the Mid-Semester reports published last week, we invite you to our parents’ evenings at which you will be able to speak with your child’s teachers about his/her progress in school this year. After positive feedback from parents in semester 1, we will have the parents’ evening over two days, with one event being in-school and in-person and the other being online through Microsoft Teams. The dates are as follows: • Monday 1st May: 2 pm – 5 pm at Hamilton On-site parents’ evening • Tuesday 2nd May: 4 pm – 7 pm Online parents’ evening In order to meet with your child’s teachers, you must book timeslots with all of the teachers that you want to see. This can be done through the Engage parent portal. Please see the attached user guide that will help you to log on. You will find links to the parents’ evening in the ‘Notices’ section under your child’s details from Tuesday 18th April, and you can begin to book your appointments from that time. If you have any issues with logging on, please email itaccounts@this.qa. Please leave at least a five-minute gap between your scheduled meetings – both onsite and online. Due to various factors, meetings may run over or not be able to begin on time, so please build in a ‘ buffer-zone ’ to allow for this. Online meetings will be held on Microsoft Teams. You can access Teams through a mobile phone, laptop, or tablet, and you do not need to log in to do so. To access the correct teacher’s meeting, please click on the link in the attached document. This link will take you to a Microsoft Teams meeting where you will wait in the lobby until the teacher lets you in. For both online and in-person meetings it is important that you are on time so that you can have your allocated time with the teacher as there will be other parents waiting afterwards. Primary Creative Writing Competition The Student Council are excited to announce the launch of this year’s Primary Creative Writing Competition. It is open for children from KG2 all the way up to Grade 5, with two winners per grade. The task is to write a short story using one of the visuals below as inspiration.
The winning entries will be selected by Mr Rinaldi, Mr Rowland and Ms Flynn. The winning entries will be printed and displayed in a special book at the main reception. ECAs Secondary School ECAs The Secondary School ECAs will run for the final term from Sunday 7th May to Thursday 15th June. On our return after the Eid break, the full list of Secondary School ECA’s will be published to parents and students. Students will then sign up for their chosen ECA’s during homeroom. Please note that there will be scheduled rehearsals for the school production taking place in the first week back after the Eid holiday. Mr Jugue will communicate the days and times of rehearsals to students and parents.
Primary School ECAs The Primary School ECAs for the remainder of Semester 2 will run from Sunday 7th May until Thursday 15th June. ECA letters will be sent home to you on Sunday 30th May for ECA preferences to be made. Our students will have an exciting variety of sports, creative and academic activities to choose from such as, advanced Maths, drama club, orchestra, team games and many more.
Inclusion School ECAs The Inclusion Department’s ECAs will run for the final term from Sunday 7th May to Thursday 15th June. On our return after the Eid break, the full list of ECA’s will be published and parents can then sign up.
Parents Voice
You can now register for our Parent-Led classes starting the first week of May. We have 3 classes on offer Zumba, HIIT Circuit Training, and Parent & Baby Music and Movement class. Payment will be paid directly to the instructor/teacher and part of the proceeds will go back to the Parent’s Council to fund future events and initiatives.

Parents Voice Parent & Baby Music and Movement Class Parent and baby music and Movement classes are action packed, full of singing, laughter, dancing and exploring using music and musical instruments. Parents and babies get to bond and have fun while making memories. Zumba "Merash" "Merash" is a scientific sport program designed on a precise basis to be appropriate particularly with women's body. It is a new training program that combines the enhancement of body shape and strength together. Also, it takes into consideration the aspects of entertainment and pleasure that supports the psychological status of women. The program is based on the integration of Arabic culture and music with free style aerobics movements using light weights. HIIT Circuit Training Interval training circuit style class incorporating cardio, plyometrics, and strength training. You will get a full body workout, that is sure to get your heart rate up. Focusing on good form and proper core engagement throughout the class.
