PRODUCTION RIGHTS DEATHTRAP is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
SPECIAL THANKS Michael Compton | Tom Compton | Julie Dixon | Alexis Pritchard
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR DEATHTRAP is a play that has no real ending; it will forever be a snake eating its own tail. Ira Levin has created a world where an audience can relish in suspense and secrecy, and it has been my job as a director to pay homage to his genius writing. DEATHTRAP holds the record for the longest running comic-thriller on Broadway, and since then has gone on to be produced in film. I chose to direct DEATHTRAP because it is the most intricately straightforward play I have ever read. The amount of detail that has gone into this process will be unquestionably obvious in the product, and I am so grateful to have worked alongside industrious crew members, brilliant designers, and fearless actors. My ultimate goal is for you, the audience members, to enjoy yourselves during your time at the Bruhl residence, and I hope you all go home with unanswered questions. The mystery of the unknown is a beguiling feat, and DEATHTRAP will inevitably leave you craving more! ~ Carsyn Wayland, Director
