Record-Breaking Sales Competition

Held twice a year, the Sales Competition, sponsored by Aflac, is an opportunity for any student in the University to gain invaluable experience by diving into the principles of sales for a chance to win cash prizes. In the competition, teams of two students work together as a buyer and a seller to sell a product or service of their choice. Students are judged on a number of criteria designed around five major concepts, as well as communication and presentation skills.

Participating in the competition gives students a chance to hone their skills in oral and written communication, practice engagement and leadership, as well as working in teams - all major attributes sought by employers of any industry. This year’s spring semester competition had a record-breaking 18 teams compete.

“[This] was one of the best events I’ve been able to be a part of. Great enthusiasm. Great contest. Very well done,” said Paul Fuller, Sales Competition Judge and Head of Revenue for Membrain.com.

In addition to Fuller, the College of Business thanks the judges who spent a full day assisting with the competition - Vance Nielsen with Farm Bureau Insurance Company, Kasi Nelson with Silver Star Communications, Jeff Tanner with Old Dominion University, Anthony Zerwig with Federated Insurance and Brandon Daw with Aflac.
