Sharing His Story: Student's Love of ISU Leads to Voluntary Recruiting in Nepal

The College of Business has made a significant impact on many students, but one student in particular has enjoyed his education so much, that he chose to voluntarily recruit for the College. Kaushal Wagle, a junior in informatics and native of Nepal, opted to use his time visiting his home to share his story. “I am biased toward the benefits of entrepreneurship and I believe whatever field you end up studying, it will always lead to business.” Last spring, Wagle approached Assistant Dean John Ney regarding his idea. “I really appreciate that he volunteered for the job. He’s such a great student so I thought it would be a fantastic idea,” said Ney.

Wagle’s trip proved to be quite successful, visiting over 100 students to share his experiences. The trip included two seminars at Trinity International High School and a session organized by the United Nations Education Foundation (UCEF). As an international student himself, Wagle could speak well as to what it’s like studying in another country. Wagle said many students he spoke with knew what they wanted to study, but did not know how to apply for admission. Fortunately, he was able to help. Wagle will graduate in 2020 and is looking forward to spending his final semesters making memories in Pocatello. After graduating, he plans to start an IT consulting firm, and hopes to stay in the U.S. for at least a year.
