BRINGING BUSINESS TO RADIO
In September, College of Business Dean Dr. Shane I Hunt launched the new Bengal Business Radio Show on KISU-FM 91. “I was inspired to launch [the show] to share the great things happening in the College of Business and to have successful alumni and professors who are experts in their field provide insights on current business topics,” said Hunt. “Our faculty guests get to share their research and the impact it is having across industries and our alumni get to share advice that benefits current students and other listeners throughout the region.”
After just a few months of airing, Hunt said he has received numerous compliments on the show from listeners throughout the state. “I have been told by several listeners how much they enjoy hearing about the great classroom projects and research our faculty and students are working on together,” said Hunt. estate agent and partner at Colliers International, Don Zebe and management professor, Dr. Alex Bolinger. October’s show featured alumnus and managing partner at Big Four accounting firm- KPMG, Mike Hayhurst and economics professor Dr. Iris Buder. “We have had some great discussions about the impact of COVID-19 on commercial real estate, large accounting firms and the economics of healthcare,” said Hunt.

Hunt said he is planning to feature more great guests for future episodes and plans to discuss topics at the forefront of business conversations such as the future of retailing, healthcare administration during the pandemic and the impact of Big Data on businesses in 2021.
The segment airs the last Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM MT on KISU-FM. KISU’s signal is located at 91.1 in the Pocatello area, 91.3 in Idaho Falls and 88.1 in the Upper Valley. The show and all past episodes can also be heard online at kisu.org/programs/bengal-business.
