What is “Content” Anyway?

To put it simply, content is any asset or deliverable that you create or use to get your message across to your audience. Content can be videos, audio, images, blogs, emails, websites--the list goes on. The root of all content is messaging. Content can be flexible, but messaging should be consistent.

9

Don’t “Reinvent the Wheel” if you don’t have to

In the world of content and content marketing, there is always the unending pressure to deliver high-quality content to your audience across an ever-growing array of channels. When resources are limited, you have to stretch everything you have to succeed.

Updating & Reposting Blog Content

If you run a blog, updating blog posts should be a part of your content strategy. A large number of posts that contain good information don’t have to stay lost in the past. As you’re combing through your blog archive, pick out posts that can still be valuable with a few tweaks. Tip: Notate in the title that the post has been updated with new information. It draws in readers looking for the latest data and readers who previously enjoyed the post will have a nice refresher.

13

Updating & Reposting Social

Tip: If you haven’t already, make sure to create a Business Account for your channel across social to unlock each platform’s analytics on top performing posts. Review at your data and choose the best performing social posts to make an “encore” performance. It also provides a great way to test your content and understand what drives results.

14

Use internal data for infographics or case studies

Statistics on a social media page, such as Instagram or LinkedIn, makes your page as a whole look credible. It shows the public that your business cares about industry data as part of your brand.

15

What types of data do you collect, and how do you interpret them?

If you gather social media metrics, collect SEO data, or analyze traffic performance, there’s room to use that data to make a case study. You can draw inferences from the data you’ve collected in the past and try to learn something new. Third-Party data can also be collected and added to your infographics to beef-up and contextualize your infographics. Tip: Issuu Statistics are another great starting point to fleshing out your Infographics and Data.

16

Turn your presentations into distributable content

Have a great presentation? Share it as content! ●

● ●

Export your slides into individual image files so you can upload it to your corporate blog, or your social media channels Convert your presentation into video format and upload it to sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and other video-sharing sites Elaborate and reformat your presentation to create an eBook about your presentation topic Export your Presentation as a PDF and upload to Issuu to keep the distribution going.

17

Use webpage content for video content

85% of internet users enjoy video content. Blog posts already contain a lot of valuable information, and an alternative to producing a podcast to deliver information is by making a short video. If you have a YouTube content strategy, producing a video with blog post information could fit into that strategy like a glove. This tactic makes your content available across more than one platform. Another distribution idea for video content is to add it to your blog post. You can add “Video” to the title, keep the introduction, and use the video for the body. A shorter post entices skimmers who want to digest information quickly and concisely.
