An understanding of our own beliefs, values, atudes, experiences and feelings and how they shape us; the impact of cultural influences; the recognion of strengths, limitaons and challenges as well as the ability to cope successfully with situaons of change and adversity; how the learner’s concept of self and feelings of self-worth affect his or her approach to learning and how he or she interacts with others.

Interacons

An understanding of how an individual interacts with other people, other living things and the wider world; behaviours, rights and responsibilies of individuals in their relaonships with others, communies, society and the world around them; the awareness and understanding of similaries and differences; an appreciaon of the environment and an understanding of, and commitment to, humankind’s responsibility as custodians of the Earth for future generaons

All curriculum areas provide an opportunity to ulise the approaches to learning The PSE component of the curriculum also provides opportunies for students to:

● reflect on the development of his/her own personal, social and physical wellbeing;

● develop and apply strategies to help manage situaons of change and adversity;

● work towards achieving personal goals;

● master new skills and techniques in a variety of physical acvies;

● develop strategies to improve individual and team performance in physical acvies;

● understand the factors that contribute to a healthy lifestyle;

● use cooperave behaviours in order to funcon as part of a group or team;

● reflect on interacons with other people, other living things and the wider world;

● appreciate the interdependent relaonships between humans, other living things and the environment.
