APPRECIATION WEEKEND
GRAND MARSHALLS T
LLOYD AND CAROLYN KELSEY
he wonderful people and “The Magic” of Tara Woods made it an easy decision for Lloyd and I to buy in July of 2000. We joined the Tara Woods family in May of 2001 full-time. We wanted to get involved with the activities, and Carolyn started classes with Sweating to the Oldies and country line dancing. We were able to meet new people and make friends forever.
Lloyd volunteered to play music for a fundraiser towards the traffic light in 2001. We are K-Sound. To our surprise it turned out we needed to advertise, print and sell tickets, purchase drinks and refreshments, decorate, play the music and clean up! Everyone who runs an event at the Clubhouse understands what we are saying! It was Great Fun! We got to meet so many nice people willing to help. It was a success and we all enjoy and feel safer having the traffic light. Over $600.00 profit was earned. For many summers we would also play Free Fun Dances! We also deliver the Columns and Telephone Directories which gives us a chance to meet neighbors. We find being on the Hurricane Committee is very interesting. We’ve had to use our skills a few times, and we truly appreciate the many professional nurses who help with our special needs neighbors! Another thing we do is work at the cast parties, which gives us a chance to meet and work with different people, and it’s always FUN!
We have it all!!! Feel “The Magic” as we have – get involved. Lloyd and Carolyn Kelsey
Lloyd works with the Sound and Light Committee. He also serves on the Park Improvement Committee and Fire Wise Committee. We both took the Medical Reserve Corp. Training to help here in Tara Woods. We are so grateful that we got involved with different activities. It has given us the opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy the company of our long-time friends. It has been Priceless! We’re very fortunate that our two sons, Kevin and Keith, and our daughter Kathy moved down to Florida the same time we did.
