meet Marie :)
After 10 years working in construction as a project manager, overseeing the concept and construction phases of hundreds of housing units, Marie relocated to Dubai in 2014 with husband and kids.
Marie then worked for the #1 scenery contractor in the UAE, handling amazing projects such as temporary museums, huge exhibition stands, or decor constructions for luxury events from brands like Cadillac, Cartier, Dubai Government, Ralph Lauren, Le Louvre Abu Dhabi and many more. Finding the right materials, colours and textures, supervising production of custom-made decors or furniture pieces became a daily routine.
TThese experiences made her realize how passionate she is about all things interiors and about transforming spaces.
To turn her passion into a career and build up on previous experiences and skills, Marie completed her Bachelor of Art (First) in Interior design with Leicester University in the UK, before founding her own boutique practice, Islago Design Studio.
After 9 years in the UAE, Marie can rely on a network of reliable contractors and suppliers to achieve great projects.
Design concept
After the initial brief we come up with a design concept: inspirational ideas, mood boards, and development sketches allow us to support our design proposition.
Space planning Project specification
Based on your brief, and the intended use of your space, we work on different zoning options to give your space the function you desire, until we reach the optimal layout.
Technical drawings & 3d Implementation
A full set of technical drawings is prepared by our team so there is no space for mistakes during execution stages. Floor plans, furniture layout, lighting and AV plans, elevations.
When necessary, we can work on 3D modelling of the space to help you visualize the end result.
After approval of the design concept, we will develop the scheme into a full design specification : final presentations, sample boards, products specifications for finishes, furniture, lighting etc.
We assist you throughout the execution phase of your project. We liaise with suppliers and contractors, to ensure the materials and furniture are delivered to site when needed and to ensure the work is done as per plans, in the respect of budget and schedule. We do quality controls and assist you for the handover of the property, helping you to establish the snagging list with the contactor.
