"¿Quién quiere la realidad?"

La imagen de la silla eléctrica fue utilizada por primera vez por Warhol en 1964 en la serie "Muerte y Desastre". Warhol señaló que era Henry Geldzahler, restaurador del Museo Metropolitano de Arte, quien "me dio la idea de empezar la serie Muerte y Desastre. Los dos estábamos almorzando un día de verano [1962] sentados con las noticias diarias sobre la mesa. El titular era '129 mueren en un jet ', y eso es lo que me inició en la serie de la muerte y los desastres", Andy pasó horas en la biblioteca de Nueva York buscando la foto de la silla eléctrica que sirvió para la ejecución de los supuestos espías Julius y Ethel Rosenberg, y que el deseaba tener en su poder. Con los años, la silla fue acreditándose como propiedad de Warhol, tanto la obra como la idea. Fue expuesta en la exposición de Alcatraz en San Francisco en 1985. Al morir Andy Warhol, la silla fue devuelta a Pietro Psaier y ha permanecido en su colección particular hasta la adquisición por parte de Atlántica (fondo de arte privado de origen gallego y completamente centrado en el pop art).

Fue tanto su pasión por esta silla que Andy la usaba para sus sesiones de cine de terror con palomitas incluidas, además de utilizarla en 1973 en su película “Flesh for Frankestein”. Aunque más escalofriante es la historia que cuenta Roman Polansky, quien probo su funcionamiento friendo unos entrecots con Nico y Andy en la Factory.

Andy Warhol realizó múltiples serigrafías de la silla eléctrica, sirviendose de fotografías sacadas de las crónicas de sucesos de los periódicos, mostrando la otra cara del sueño americano, vulgarizada por los medios de comunicación americanos; y como herramienta descontextualizada de la opresión política. Sillas que resultan dramáticas y frías en la distancia de una escenografía vacía de presencia humana. Hasta ese momento nunca se había reflejado en el arte de una manera tan directa, un medio de ejecución de la pena capital que expresara una carga tan significativa del contexto social y político, como metáfora de la muerte, Warhol extrae del Dadá la idea de unir arte y vida, es decir, anular la separación abismal que existe entre la vida cotidiana de las personas y el arte. " Lo importante no es la realización manual de la obra de arte sino la elección del objeto, que lo es por su propio valor artístico", decía Warhol y mucho antes Duchamp.

En esta obra en concreto, "Desastre naranja nº 5", utiliza el color de la vida para plasmar la muerte de una sociedad americana plagada de armas, publicidad y consumo. 15 repeticiones que recrean ese consumismo frío y esas gigantescas montañas de objetos absurdos que inundan los supermercados y tiendas, ya, de todo el mundo.

Una hoja de contactos donde cada foto encuadra la muerte de una forma fría y vacía, donde el espectador se estremezca como si asistiera a una ejecución múltiple y donde el único aliento de armonía lo marca el propio color naranja.

Pura expresión gráfica, propia de un periódico cualquiera, que llama a la atención tanto de un espectador de la calle, como de un gran banquero de wallstreet.

Obra que, desde con h, la comparamos con gran respeto con la obra de banksy "silla de oficina", donde se puede ver un joven rompiendo una silla de ruedas (estilo london calling) tipica de cualquier oficina y, que a su vez tambien muestra ese simbolismo del objeto social como muestra de arte. Con la diferencia de que banksy no comercializa la obra en cuestion sino unas reproducciones estampadas en productos de subvenir como camisetas y tazas de porcelana.

"Who wants reality?"

The image of the electric chair was first used by Warhol in 1964 in the series "Death & Disaster".

Abril hará brotar lilas del interior de tu vientre putrefacto. Se preguntan “¿qué le estará diciendo?” ¿por qué le explica los cuadros a una liebre muerta?”. ¿ALGUIÉN VIÓ UNA BICI QUE DEJE AQUÍ?

"De cada una de ellas podría contar una historia, como por ejemplo, la que quedó a medio hacer en la ex jefatura de policía, debido a que un oficial me detuvo al descubrirme. En otra oportunidad, un joven que venía de trabajar me llevó en su auto para que le pintara una en la pared de su casa; cargamos las dos bicicletas, la real en el baúl del coche y la otra, la del esténcil, en el asiento trasero y partimos. El diálogo que se generó durante el viaje fue maravilloso.

Al llegar, la hicimos en silencio, pues quería darle la sorpresa a su mujer cuando se levantara a la mañana. O sino cuando salía en las noches de invierno, muy abrigado, con mi gorro de lana y cuellera, y veces, a la madrugada, me encontraba con los chicos que salían de los boliches que pedían que me sacara el abrigo de la cara, porque querían conocerme.

Muchas son las interpretaciones sobre este cuadro de Francisco de Goya, desde que estamos ante una obra inacabada, hasta que se trata del minimalismo mas abstracto de Goya.

Dicen que existe una pérdida de elementos presentes en el cuadro antes de su traslado a lienzo, ya que se creo como pieza mural.

Elementos como los pájaros que supuestamente observa el perro, pero lo que mas se acerca a al realidad es que estamos ante la representación pictórica de la libertad de un pueblo y sus esperanzas ante la vida.

El perro representa al pueblo español hundido en la miseria de colores ocres observando la esperanza y la libertad representada por el espacio y la luz cálida del amanecer.

Goya escribió: "El perro parece el único ser cariñoso, preocupado, humilde; humano, por así decirlo" There are many interpretations of this painting by Francisco de Goya, since this is a work unfinished, until it comes to the more abstract minimalism Goya.

Así, la silueta de la bicicleta abandonada se transformó en una metáfora de la ausencia.

Fernando Traverso es un artista y militante social de los barrios de Argentina que decidió estampar bicicletas por la desaparición de un amigo suyo a causa de sus ideas políticas. La representación de la bicicleta, que realizo 350 veces por la cantidad de desaparecidos y secuestrados políticos, se convirtió en el homenaje artístico hacia ellos, expresando así "la espera de su dueño"

lo largo de la historia y en diferentes culturas, a los hombres con vello facial se les han atribuido la sabiduría, la potencia sexual o un estatus social alto, pero también la falta de higiene o refinamiento y una disposición excéntrica.

En algunas religiones los varones deben llevar la barba completa como una filosofía de libertad y como puente entre la mente y el corazón. Entre los celtas la barba constituía un signo de virilidad y libertad, ya que los esclavos eran obligados a recortársela.

Durante mucho tiempo las barbas, junto con el cabello largo, fueron reintroducidas al mundo occidental por los hippies.

A principios de siglo las barbas largas se veian ramente porque comenzo una cierta tendencia unisex, como en el caso de la filosofía metrosexual. Actualmente cada vez se pueden ver mas hombres que se dejan crecer sus barbas, ya sea por moda o por estilo de vida.

Crecer la barba también es símbolo de rebeldía, masculinidad y valentía, pero lo que esta claro es que cada uno elige la manera de mostrar su rostro independientemente de su forma de ser, y lo mas importante, de como el mundo lo ve. Glamour, no glamour, masculinidad, seriedad, insinuación de buena salud o de dejadez, el aspecto físico nunca deberá ser lo importante en un ser y esto es lo que el artista quiere reflejar en esta serie de autoretratos.

Através de un ejercicio cotidiano como es el afeitarse para cambiar de aspecto, el artista quiere motivar a que sustituyamos esa estúpida visión estética y superficial que tenemos al ver a una persona, por una visión mas interior y trascendental. Una performance de transformación exterior que en ningún caso ejerce un cambio interior, convirtiendo lo cotidiano en elemento artistico.

hroughout history and across cultures, men with facial hair have been credited with wisdom, sexual power or high social status on the one hand, as well as with a lack of hygiene and sophistication or an eccentric penchant on the other hand. It is just an exercise of outward transformation that in no way can ever lead to inner change.

Omayra 1985, by Frank Fournier

Omayra Sánchez fue una niña víctima del volcán Nevado del Ruiz durante la erupción que arrasó al pueblo de Armero, Colombia en 1985. Omayra estuvo 3 días atrapada en el fango, agua y restos de su propia casa. Tenía 13 años y durante el tiempo que se mantuvo atorada siempre estuvo encima de los cuerpos de sus familiares. Cuando los socorristas intentaron ayudarla, comprobaron que era imposible, ya que para sacarla necesitaban amputarle las piernas, sin embargo carecían de cirugía y podría fallecer. La otra opción era traer una moto-bomba que succionará el cada vez mayor fango en que estaba sumergida. La única moto-bomba disponible estaba lejos del sitio, por lo que sólo podían dejarla morir. Omayra se mostró fuerte hasta el último momento de su vida, según los socorristas y periodistas que la rodearon. Durante los tres días, estuvo pensando solamente en volver al colegio y en sus exámenes. El fotógrafo Frank Fournier, hizo una foto de Omayra que dio la vuelta al mundo y originó una controversia acerca de la indiferencia del Gobierno colombiano respecto a las víctimas. La fotografía se publicó meses después de que la chica falleciera. Muchos ven en esta imagen de 1985 el comienzo de lo que hoy llamamos Globalización, pues su agonía fue seguida en directo por las cámaras de televisión y retransmitida a todo el mundo.

Omayra Sanchez was a child victim of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano during the eruption that destroyed the town of Armero, Colombia in 1985. El propio Fournier declaró en una entrevista: “Me encontré con un campesino, quien me dijo de una niña que necesitaba ayuda. Cuando me condujo hacia ella estaba casi a solas, unas pocas personas la rodeaban en tanto algunos trabajadores de rescate ayudaban a otra persona un poco más lejos.

Al tomar su fotografía me sentí totalmente impotente, sin poder alguno de ayudarla. Ella se enfrentaba a la muerte con coraje y dignidad, sentía que su vida se le iba.

Ana Gallardo y su hija estuvieron alrededor de un año sin casa. Cuando encontraron hogar, los muebles que había quedado esperando durante la sucesivas mudanzas eran muchos para el nuevo espacio.

Gallardo decidió conservarlos y construir con ellos un "hogar rodante".

"Durante el año 2006, Rocío, mi hija y yo, estuvimos sin casa. La dueña del lugar en el que vivíamos nos dijo que lo necesitaba, que tenia que vender etc Me tomó por sorpresa. Con el diario en mano, salimos a buscar hogar, pero era todo inaccesible ... solo nos quedamos con una maleta con ropa, algunos libros, discos y la computadora ... muebles que heredé de afectos y que acompañaron toda la vida de Rocío. Ellos, conformaron nuestro patrimonio y con los mismos construí nuestra Casa Rodante. Una tarde de domingo salimos a andar por la calles de Buenos Aires."

Ahora su casa se exppone en museos. ¿Qué es el arte de vectores?

Vector Art es una técnica, que significa el arte creado con programas basados en vectores. Vector art es el uso básicamente de puntos, líneas y curvas. Los programas de vectores toman nota de la relación entre estos elementos. Esto permite que las imágenes creadas puedan variar su escala sin perder calidad o pixelarse. En comparación, los píxeles pierden calidad cuando son aumentados por encima del 100% de su tamaño.

Programas populares de vectores son Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, y flash.

Casi todo lo creado con estos programas es considerado como obra vectorial. Digo “casi” porque hay excepciones en cada regla. Si tu obra vectorial combina imágenes vectoriales con imágenes rasterizadas, me temo que deja de ser una obra vectorial (y consecuentemente no pertenece a la Vector Gallery). Por ejemplo: aI terminar tu obra vectorial, piensas que a tu obra le falta algo, y lo metes en Photoshop para darle una pequeña textura, intentando completarlo más. En ese momento deja de ser una obra vectorial, y deberías subirlo a “Digital art> Mixed Media”. De la misma manera, si tomas la textura rasterizada y la metes en Illustrator aplicando un estilo de capa, tampoco sería una obra vectorial. Como esta textura no puede ser aumentada sobre 100%, hace que tu vector sea técnicamente inútil tras las imágenes rasterizadas en tamaño original. Tampoco pienses que no puedes añadir texturas a tu obra vectorial. Muchos de estos programas vienen equipados con muestras de patrones detallados, pinceles texturizados, incluso con “Live Trace” (calco interactivo), que como su nombre indica, traza imágenes rasterizadas y las convierte en gráficos vectores.

Reiterando y asegurando que no haya confusión, he aquí una lista con programas generalmente considerados como basados en rasterizaciones: Photoshop, Painter, MS Paint y una gran alternativa gratuita, Gimp. Básicamente todo lo creado con este programa es considerado imagen rasterizada. Unos pocos de estos programas son capaces de crear imágenes con puntos, líneas y curvas, tal y como un programa de vectores haría. El mismo Photoshop puede hacer imágenes basadas en vectores, sin embargo suelen ser consideradas “vexels” porque los artistas Vexel suelen incluir trazos de pinceles en sus imágenes (para pelo, etc). Hablando de pinceles. Sólo porque te has descargado e instalado un set de pinceles para Photoshop (u otro cualquier programa de imágenes rasterizadas) que tenga la palabra “vector” en su título, NO quiere decir que tu obra sea vectorial. Estos pinceles vienen en varios tamaños, y no importa en qué resolución los apliques, nunca podrán ser aumentados por encima del 100% de su tamaño sin perder calidad.

Simplificando, “Vector no es un “estilo” como Anime, pero es un “medio” como el carboncillo. Preguntar a qué se parece el arte vectorial es como preguntar a qué se parecen las pinturas con óleos. Podría parecerse a Rembrandt, Picasso, o a una pintada con los dedos de un niño de quinto curso.”

Pintar es una forma de amar y que te amen para arrojar luz a una oscuridad inabarcable e infinita. Por ello no me es un trabajo me es una necesidad como comenta Rilke en " Cartas a un joven poeta" Realmente no creo que haga o piense algo nuevo pero si que tengo fe en lo que hago, nada más. Necesito acabar las piezas, no me gusta mucho la palabra pieza , cuadros o pinturas, hasta que me satisfacen, no los veo como productos seriados, cada uno necesita un lenguaje y un tiempo, son criaturas vivas que tan solo es necesario escucharles atentamente, ellas te van indicando lo que necesitan parto con una mínima pauta, que podría ser cualquiera, un fondo y una técnica, luego tan sólo hay que proyectar e imaginar y no tener miedo, dejarse llevar y tener fe.

A veces si que he requerido de bocetos para mostrar alguna idea, algún miedo o representar algo que me estaba pasando, tornándose en amuleto protector o extirpador de alguna sensación negativa, pero por lo general no me gusta saber como va a acabar el cuadro, necesito que me sorprenda si no me sorprende me parece una especie trabajo sin premio , necesite sentir que llego a lugares que ni yo entiendo".

Esta tradici贸n oral ha sabido evolucionar y adaptarse a los tiempos conectando con las generaciones mas j贸venes, llegando a reunir en una final del campeonato a 14 mil personas.

Un arte de est茅tica austera que sorprende en esta 茅poca de grandes espectaculos y efectos digitales.

Viejo, baldado y analfabeto fue un verdadero bohemio rural que improvisaba con maestría tanto en cualquier tugurio como en campeonatos.

Tras una posguerra de más de veinte años, la Academia de la Lengua Vasca (Euskaltzaindia) consiguió la autorización de organizar un campeonato de bertsolaris en 1960. En las eliminatorias previas tomaron parte 56 bertsolaris.

De los diez finalistas, Iñaki "Basarri" fue proclamado, por segunda vez, campeón. Junto a el, Manuel Olaizola, "Uztapide", con quien formo la pareja que mantuvo el bertsolarismo público durante los duros años cuarenta y cincuenta. También pareja debido a la dictadura franquista y sus trabajos forzados.

Los años ochenta supusieron una importante renovación del bertsolarismo, con la consagración de Xabier Amuriza, exsacerdote y expreso político que durante más de seis años estuvo en cautiverio donde estudio, escribió y publico infinidad de bertsos. Renovó la imagen, introdujo la metáfora, aportó nuevas melodías y demostró que el euskera es un lenguaje tan útil para la improvisación como cualquier dialecto. Recopilador, investigador, pedagogo, escritor, Xabier Amuriza es el modelo en que se han mirado muchos de los bertsolaris de hoy.

A partir de aquí 100 bertsolaris se concentran en el velódromo de Anoeta (Donostia) para competir en lo que se podría denominar como las primeras grandes "batallas de gallos", como lo vienen haciendo hace algunos años otros conocidos poetas de la improvisación, los rappers.

Sebastián Lizaso, Jon Lopategi, Andoni Egaña, son algunos de los grandes campeones que marcan tendencias dentro del bertso y su forma de contar.

En 2009 Maialen Lujanbio ganó el Campeonato Nacional de Bertsolaris proclamándose la primera mujer que gana una competición como esta.

La "lucha" improvisada entre poetas se reconoce como disciplina artística y competición nacional. Un estilo donde todos los bertsolaris componen en sus cabezas pequeñas historias de humor, critica o sentimientos sobre la vida en relación a un tema concreto que es elegido por un juez segundos antes de la competición. El éxito o fracaso comunicativo del bertsolari no reside en su voz, sino en el tono escogido y la manera de cantarla ya que ningún tipo de música acompaña a los bertsolaris.

Los tonos se clasifican en tres categorías, tonos populares tradicionales, nuevas tonadas y tonalidades compuestas.

El bertso se divide en puntos y cada punto, según la métrica, presenta un cierto número de sílabas (Zortziko mayor, Hamarreko mayor, Zortziko menor y Hamarreko menor).

El bertsolari jamás cuenta las sílabas mientras está improvisando y su facilidad para la rima es el quid donde formar sus bertsos, así pues, el no dice nunca aquello que quiere decir, dice aquello que la métrica y las palabras que ha almacenado y puede en un momento dado utilizar, se lo permiten.

"Desde pequeño cuando pensaba en mi futuro, lo veía muy claro, quería ser escultor.

Mis primeros pasos en este mundo han sido ir a la escuela de arte y a la escuela profesional de escultores en Ortisei. En primer momento mi intención era volverme un escultor de arte sagrado, hacer santos de grandes dimensiones, con el tiempo mi ambición ha cambiado. Con i trabajo lo que pretendo es representar niños muy adultos y conscientes de su situación, de las circunstancias que han pasado y de los sentimientos heredados de sus predecesores, sean estos buenos o malos. Mis discursos nacen de una afirmación de Rudolf Steiner, dice que los niños de seis y siete años tienen la facultad de sentir en su inconsciente pensamientos y culpas heredadas de sus antepasados. La relación con el pasado y con los padres para mí es muy importante. Los niños que represento piensan que el mundo que les rodea no les deja tiempo para ser niños, no tienen tiempo de vivir su infancia ni recorrer el camino difícil que lleva de la infancia a la edad adulta. personajes llevan objetos comunes, tijeras paraguas, cinturones ... con estos objetos intento crear un contraste entre el niño y el mundo, pero también influenciar el modo de observar mi escultura, decir el orden de mirada en la pieza. Generalmente cuando se mira una obra nos llama la atención el rostro, yo pretendo llevar la atención antes hacia otro lado.

Para potenciar este efecto genero un contraste entre partes de madera natural y partes pulidas, un modo ayuda al otro, la parte áspera del cuerpo del niño amplifica la suavidad y la armonía de las partes lisas de los objetos que suelen ser más oscuros y atraen la atención del espectador. La madera me rodea desde que soy pequeño, me gusta porque es un material orgánico y cálido, con el que se pueden obtener m u c h o s resultados. Las esculturas que hago están construidas con módulos, esta técnica permite modelar y esculpir al mismo tiempo.
