SEEMA GUJRAL FLAGSHIP STORE
Dhan Mill, New Delhi
The SG flagship store at Dhan Mill, New Delhi, designed by Studio Renesa, is a 9000 sq.ft. retail space that exemplifies the fusion of traditional Indian architecture with modern design principles.
The store is divided into five distinct sections—Saree Area, Cocktail Area, Menswear, Mehendi Area, and Weddings Area—each embodying the design philosophy of a particular SG collection.
These sections are seamlessly connected by minimalistic and elegant navigational spaces, allowing for intuitive circulation. The architectural highlight of the store is a grand double-height courtyard at the epicenter of the design, capped with a ceiling installed with light panels that mimic the effect of a skylight.
This innovative use of lighting creates an uplifting ambiance, enhancing the sense of openness and bringing a soft, natural glow that makes the courtyard feel like an outdoor space while remaining indoors.

The central space, inspired by traditional Indian courtyards, brings a sense of openness and cohesion to the layout. This design choice creates a focal point that unifies the various sections of the store while maintaining a connection to traditional architectural elements.
The design language continues seamlessly on the first floor, where the office space is located. From the first-floor corridor, there is a clear view of the courtyard below, ensuring a strong visual connection to the central architectural feature. This design allows natural light to flow through the space, enriching the entire environment.
Throughout the store, the use of brass elements, geometric ceiling features, and dynamic metal sheets creates visual continuity. These elements tie together the varied themes of each section, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic experience.
The design also incorporates a mix of earthy and avant-garde materials, striking a balance between heritage and contemporary aesthetics.
This thoughtful material selection reflects the duality of tradition and modernity that defines the store’s overall design.

4THE EDIFICE
The Edifice is a student housing that aims to create an impact among the young generation. It aims to promote a sustainable approach towards life by encouraging the u:se of non motorised vehicles that have been provided on site free of cost to reduce the carbon footprint.
The same has been achieved by planning the building in a staggered way, providing courtyards and by covering 65% of the site with a green cover to reduce the heat island effect
The open terraces on each level provide an arena for exchange of thoughts, ideas and values. This proposal will help students in their academics, stimulate their intellectual curiosity and will create an impact among today’s generation.
