Project Title: Urban Design (In-Situ Rehabilitation) Location: Haiderpur Badli, New Delhi Site Area: 34416Sqm./ 8.50 Acres
In-situ rehabilitation in India is a vital urban development and social policy aimed at improving the living conditions and livelihoods of marginalized communities. The term "in-situ" refers to the practice of upgrading and redeveloping existing slum areas instead of relocating their residents to far-off areas. This approach is gaining momentum due to its potential to tackle urban poverty and create sustainable urban environments. In this write-up, we will explore the significance, challenges, and progress of in-situ rehabilitation in India.
Green Integration: We prioritized the incorporation of green spaces within the existing fabric of the city, promoting environmental resilience and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.
Community-Centric Design: Placing communities at the heart of the process, our designs aimed at preserving the unique identity of each neighborhood while addressing current challenges and future needs.
