ISD is a community that:

Face-to-face learning on campus

Therefore the class of 2023 has spent most of Grade 11-12 years learning face-to-face and on-campus.

Testing Restrictions: Students in Bangladesh have experienced limited access to standardize testing because of fewer test dates and fewer sites offering the test. Please take this into account when evaluating our students’ applications.

The language of instruction at ISD is English. The academic year runs from August to June. School is in session from Sunday through Thursday, 8:00-3:00.

ISD offers the IB Diploma, including studies in languages and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, and mathematics, with the option of studying three courses at the higher level and three courses at the standard level, including the DP core requirements.

Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Credit requirements for the ISD High School Diploma include:

On average, 75% of ISD students receive the full IB Diploma, 25% of students receive the ISD Diploma and may sit for 1-6 IB exams.

IB COURSE OFFERINGS: ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/23

REPORTING ACADEMIC PROGRESS

All grades at ISD are reported as scores on the IB 1-7 scale and students are given an unweighted grade point average (GPA). ISD does not rank students.

Courses taken at other high schools are not factored into a student’s cumulative GPA.

CREATIVTY, ACTIV

ISD continues to partner with local organizations to run student-led projects that measurably impact the immediate community. All ISD students are supported to complete service learning while working towards the ISD/IB Diplomas.

EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAMS

ISD offers a wide range of co-curricular programs, including weekly clubs for drama, music, and visual arts, Model United Nations, and Duke of Edinburgh. ISD students may participate in team and intramural sports, including varsity soccer, swimming, cricket, tennis, badminton, basketball, and volleyball.
