Alomere Health welcomes you to a Prenatal Class during this important time in the life of your family. This two class series will help you prepare for your new addition by answering important questions about labor and delivery, sharing what to expect at the hospital, and will give you a tour of the labor and delivery department.

Our Ready, Set, Go! to Preschool Experience Young preschoolers are excited about learning! Your child can experience an extra day of practice with this experience, designed for children and families to ease into preschool. GYMNASTICS PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS Parent Tot Gymnastics

Fun early childhood classes will focus on taking turns, building balance and strength, listening skills, and basic gymnastics shapes. An instructor will guide Parent and Child through stations and obstacle courses. This program is for children 18 months to 3.5 years, accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Little Leapers

Little Leapers focused on taking turns, building balance and strength, listening skills, learning basic gymnastics shapes like tuck, straddle, pike and lunge. Our classes offer a lot of opportunities for fun and growth. This class is geared toward ages 2-3 1/2 and must be potty trained.

Preschool Gymnastics

This class for 4 & 5 year old’s will introduce the basics of gymnastics.

Taking turns, building balance and strength, listening skills and learning basic shapes. Our classes will provide a lot of opportunities for fun and growth while learning skills to get us ready for the big gym.

Intro to Gymnastics

Basic tumbling skills (forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, etc) plus introduction to bars, balance beam and vault. Terminology of gymnastics is also introduced. This class is intended for ages 5 and older. Must pass Intro to move into Intermediate.

Intermediate Gymnastics

Must pass Intro or have been evaluated to enroll. Gymnasts will work skills and progressions in tumbling, bars, balance beam and vault. Skills of emphasis are: pullovers, bridge kickover, handstand to bridge, cartwheels, and the start to vault. There will be an emphasis on our strength, flexibility and technique.

Advanced Gymnastics

Must pass Intermediate or have been evaluated to enroll. Skill progression and advancement in tumbling, bars, balance beam and vault. Skills of emphasis are: roundoffs, handsprings, walkovers, vault, kips, jumps and turns on beam, also continuing to improve strength, flexibility and technique. Once mastered, you will be invited to try out for the pre team program.

Pre Team

Our pre team program prepares gymnasts for competitive gymnastics for our club program and to help them prepare for the Alexandria high school program. These classes progress skills and start to incorporate routines, jumps and leaps in preparation for competition opportunities. 4238. Placement on pre team is done by evals that are completed in the spring or on a case by case basis.

Alexandria Area Gymnastics Team Our team

program runs year round with evaluations taking place in the spring and team placement at the end of summer. LET'S PLAY BALL! TackleBar Football (Gr. 5-6)

TackleBar® Football offers a safer way to play, keeping the game’s tradition and fundamentals. A parent meeting is on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30pm at Discovery Middle School Auditorium. A $200 equipment deposit is required but won’t be cashed unless the gear is lost or damaged. Practices are twice a week, with Saturday games. Sign up early, as each grade is limited to 80 participants.

Fall Golf Camp is for beginner or experienced golfers, boys and girls.

Each session has a different focus starting with the basics, then moving on to learning the irons, drivers and putting, to sharpening up your short game. The season will be wrapped up by playing a game of golf on the course. All participants are required to bring their own golf clubs.

Alexandria Elementary Fun Run

General Educational Development (GED) The GED test is a series of four subject tests in math, science, social studies and language arts a person can take to demonstrate their high school academic knowledge. Earning a GED diploma is the equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma and accepted by nearly all colleges and employers in the U.S., as well as many universities outside of the U.S.

English as a Second Language

Minnesota Standard Adult Diploma (AD) This is a competency-based secondary credential issued by the State of Minnesota and aligned to the State’s current K-12 academic standards along with College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), Academic, Career and Employability Skills (ACES), and NorthStar Digital Literacy Standards. The Standard Adult Diploma covers five domains: English language arts, math, science, social studies, and employability/career/digital literacy.

ABE offers flexible and self-paced adult instruction in a variety of delivery methods: in-person, distance learning or a combination of the two. Adults have access to online learning portals that enhance the classroom learning and offer instruction designed to fit your schedule. ABE has a computer lab for those who do not have personal access to computers.

Classes for adults whose native language is not English.

Learn to speak, read and write in English. Meet once a week to practice conversation and study ESL/citizenship topics.

Computer Basics

This course is for Conditional Work Learners referred through Career Force who are looking to improve their computer skills and ABE learners with a primary goal of GED, ESL, or basic skills, who need to complete the NorthStar Digital Literacy component of their studies. In addition, Microsoft Office and Google Suite will be covered. FREE by referral.

Developing a Pathway

Registation Deadline: Oct. 31 This course introduces students to the Minnesota Career Information System. Students will learn to use the occupations database, take and interpret at least three career assessment tools, use those results to research specific careers, set a career goal, and make plans for achieving that goal. Students will also learn the steps of a professional job search and develop a resume.

Knowledge & Content for Written Driver’s Exam

Registation Deadline: Sept. 16 This level 2 course focuses on the knowledge and requirements needed to pass the MN driver’s license written exam. The content is based on the MN Driver’s Manual and includes road knowledge, traffic laws, vehicle operation, and signage. This is our level 2 course in preparing for the MN driver’s written exam. Students who have taken the level one course, English Vocabulary for MN Driver’s Manual, should take this next in preparation for the permit test.

Fast Paced Knowledge & Content for Written Driver’s Exam Prep

This is a level 3 course in preparing for the MN driver’s written test.

English Vocab for MN Driver’s Manual

Registation Deadline: Sept. 17 This 10-week course focuses on the basic vocabulary and knowledge that is needed to help English language learners begin studying for the Minnesota Driver’s license written exam. Registration Deadline: Sept. 24 Course is designed to help individuals who are going into the nursing field. The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam is an aptitude test given to nursing school applicants (RN and LPN) prior to admittance into a nursing program.

This class will offer help in science, math, language arts, and reading skills in preparation for taking the TEAS Exam. Free TEAS Practice Test ($65 value) for those who complete 40 or more hours of the course.

NEW The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy: An In Depth Analysis

This course will examine the discrepancies between the Warren Commission, which investigated the assassination of President John F. Senior Housing Tour
