ALPINE MOMENTS IN THE PAZNAUN VALLEY
The Paznaun valley is situated in Western Tyrol, spanning a total length of 40 kilometres. It is renowned for its abundant sunshine hours in summer and consistent snowfall in winter. The region offers a wide range of attractions and activities for families, sports enthusiasts, foodies, and nature lovers.
The most famous resort in the area is Ischgl, known as a lifestyle and skiing hotspot. With the crossborder ski and bike resort Silvretta Arena IschglSamnaun, delectable cuisine, and top-class events, it has been attracting visitors for decades. Ischgl’s Silvretta Therme is another highlight, providing year-round water fun, relaxation, and fitness options. The three smaller municipalities of Galtür, Kappl and See enchant guests with their traditional charm, their three quality-tested family ski resorts, and summer adventure parks. All four resorts - Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl, and See - are situated in high-alpine locations between 1,000 and 1,600 metres above sea level. Combined, they offer around 20,000 beds at over 1,100 hotels catering to various budgets, including approximately 100 hotels with a four-star rating or higher. The Paznaun valley is easily accessible by public transport. Travelling by train, alight at Landeck/Zams station and take a bus or taxi from there. For those arriving by plane to Innsbruck, Munich or Zurich, buses, trains and airport shuttles to the Paznaun valley are available on-site.
Thanks to the reliable snow from late November to early May, the four ski resorts with a total of 265 kilometres of slopes and 74 cable cars and lifts, offer thrilling skiing experiences for all skill levels. Additionally, a variety of off-slope activities are available, including cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice skating, winter hiking, snowshoeing and more. In summer, the Paznaun valley boasts over 1,000 kilometres of hiking and mountain bike trails, leading to mountain summits up to 3,000 meters high, 40 mountain lodges and restaurants, various mountain lakes, and three family adventure parks. Moreover, the Paznaun valley offers a plethora of other summer activities, ranging from bouldering and climbing to trail running, fishing, tennis, and paragliding.

ISCHGL IN WINTER
With its population of 1,600, Ischgl stands as the premier winter sports region in the Paznaun. Situated at an elevation of 1,377 meters between the Silvretta and Verwall mountains, this sun-drenched high valley boasts the highest density of 4 to 5-star hotels in Austria relative to its population. As an Alpine lifestyle hotspot, Ischgl offers a diverse entertainment program, featuring renowned concerts and top-class events, and a vibrant nightlife. The village is also a have for food enthusiasts, housing eleven award-winning fine-dining restaurants that rank among the best in Austria. In addition to the skiing and snowboarding opportunities at Silvretta Arena, Ischgl provides ample options for other winter sports such as cross-country skiing, winter hiking, and ski touring. SILVRETTA ARENA ISCHGL-SAMNAUN
Ischgl is home to one of the largest interconnected ski areas in the Alps, known as Silvretta Arena. From late November to early May, avid skiers and snowboarders can enjoy guaranteed snow and take advantage of duty-free shopping in nearby Samnaun. Silvretta Arena offers meticulously groomed slopes for all skill levels, one of Europe’s largest interconnected snow parks and amazing powder areas that can be accessed directly from the lifts or cable cars without prior ascent. State-of-the-art cable cars and lifts ensure that winter sports athletes quickly get to their desired location in the ski resort. For those interested in following the footsteps of the region’s historic smugglers, the Smuggler‘s Circuit ski route provides an exciting option. Available in bronze, silver, or gold versions, this ski route is one of the world‘s longest, spanning a total length of 61.8 kilometers and featuring an altitude difference of 13,740 vertical meters.

GALTÜR IN WINTER
Traditional, peaceful, and family-friendly, Galtür is situated at the rear end of the Paznaun valley in Tirol. Located at 1,584 meters above sea level, it is Tyriol‘s first climatic spa and home to approximately 800 residents. Galtür has a rich history, with notable figures like Ernest Hemingway having spent their holidays there. Today, it remains a popular holiday destination for families and is recognized with the ECARF quality seal, making it an appealing choice for allergy sufferers. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts are drawn to Galtür for its extensive network of trails. From December to April, visitors can enjoy 73 interconnected cross-country trails, which have been awarded the Tyrolean quality seal and reach elevations of up to 2,000 meters. These trails are free for everyone to use and provide a well-developed infrastructure with service providers, cross-country ski schools, and rental stations. A highlight is the flood-lit night trail starting in Wirl, which remains open until 10:00 pm. Galtür also serves as an ideal starting point for ski touring in higher-located areas, offering magnificent views of the Silvretta mountains to the south and the Verwall mountains to the north.
SILVAPARK GALTÜR
Galtür is home to Silvapark, a quality-tested family ski resort that embodies a forward-thinking winter sports concept. Known as the „heart of the Silvretta mountains,“ it is renowned for its reliable snow conditions. Developed with great respect for nature, Silvapark encompasses six distinct sectors. Young visitors can enjoy the „Zwergerlwelt“ and „Abenteuerland“ areas tailored specifically for them. The „Actionpark“ features three different funsport areas designed for young riders. The „Pistenparadies“ sector offers a skiing haven for skiers and snowboarders, while the „Heldenreich“ area, with its dedicated family run and avalanche transceiver checkpoint, is a favorite among passionate freeriders. Nature lovers can revel in the breathtaking mountain vistas found in the „High & Nordic“ sector.
KAPPL IN WINTER
With approximately 2,600 residents, Kappl stands as the largest municipality in the Paznaun valley. Situated at an elevation of 1,258 meters above sea level, Kappl is nestled between the neighboring villages of See and Ischgl, serving as the gateway to the Paznaun valley in Western Tyrol. With the majestic Verwall mountains to the north and the Samnaun mountains to the south, the picturesque village offers breathtaking views. Kappl boasts the highest number of area names in Austria, totaling 96, and is also home to the most chapels in Tyrol. It is an ideal destination for relaxed exploration of the local landscape, offering a variety of winter hiking trails, snowshoeing trails, and toboggan runs. KAPPL SKI RESORT
Renowned as the sunniest, quality-tested family ski resort, Kappl is famous for its 25,000-squaremeter „Sunny Mountain Adventure Park“ practice area. The Sunny Mountain Club provides professional childcare services for children aged three and above. The resort features a thrilling six-kilometer natural toboggan run that not only welcomes traditional toboggans but also offers exhilarating rides on snoocs from the mountain station of the Diasbahn cable car down to the valley station. Kappl is also a favorite among backcountry enthusiasts. Beyond the groomed slopes, the resort transforms into a stunning powder paradise, serving as the stage for an annual international freeride competition. Nearly all freeride descents in Kappl can be accessed from the mountain stations of the respective chairlifts. SEE IN WINTER
With a population of only 1,167, See stands as the second-smallest village in the Paznaun valley and offers a family-friendly atmosphere. Situated at an elevation of 1,056 meters above sea level, See welcomes visitors at the entrance to the Paznaun valley, with the magnificent Verwall mountains to the north and the stunning Samnaun mountains to the south. See provides a diverse range of winter activities, including ice skating, snowshoeing, and tobogganing. Toboggan enthusiasts can enjoy six kilometers of thrilling tobogganing fun on one of Tyrol‘s most beautiful natural toboggan runs. The „Kids Club“ ski nursery, located in the heart of the ski resort next to the panoramic restaurant, caters to children aged two and above. An interesting fact: See ski resort is self-sufficient in energy, generating its own electricity through a hydroelectric power plant.
SEE SKI RESORT
See is a winter wonderland for families. Starting from the village center, a convenient cable car transports winter sports enthusiasts directly to the ski resort, reaching heights of up to 2,570 meters above sea level. The eight-seater Furglerblick cable car efficiently carries up to 1,500 passengers to the ski resort in just five minutes. The spacious practice area near the mountain station provides children and beginners with the perfect place to take their first turns in the snow, equipped with various conveyor belts and platter lifts. Notably, See ski resort is self-sufficient in energy, generating its own electricity through a hydroelectric power plant.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Nordic sports enthusiasts will love the 73-kilometer network of cross-country ski trails between Galtür and Ischgl. As a member of the „Tiroler Langlaufspezialisten“ network, the region guarantees snow reliability from December to March, along with excellent infrastructure and quality-tested accommodation options for cross-country skiers.
WINTER HIKING
Why not explore the tranquil side valleys or take a shopping trip to Samnaun? With elevations ranging from 1,060 to 2,036 meters above sea level, there are approximately 20 winter hiking trails covering a total distance of 60 kilometers, extending as far as the Swiss village of Samnaun.
SNOWSHOEING
For those seeking the serene winter landscape away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes, joining a guided snowshoe hike is a perfect option. It provides an opportunity to discover the Paznaun valley during the day or night. Snowshoes can be rented on-site or directly from your guide.
TOBOGGAN RUNS
In Kappl, you can enjoy an exhilarating six-kilometer toboggan run from the mountain station of the Diasbahn cable car to the valley station. In See, the six-kilometer natural toboggan run offers a 700-meter altitude difference. Our tip: The night toboggan run in Ischgl is one of the longest runs in the Alps, stretching for seven kilometers with an altitude difference of 850 meters.
ICE SKATING, ICE HOCKEY, BAVARIAN CURLING
The natural ice rinks in Galtür and See provide perfect settings for ice skating, ice hockey, and Bavarian curling. Additionally, Ischgl‘s Silvretta Spa features a 1,300-square-meter ice rink that encircles the entire upper floor of the building. Rental equipment is available on-site.
SKI TOURING

Ischgl, the most renowned municipality in the Paznaun Valley, is a world-famous upscale holiday resort with approximately 1,600 inhabitants. As Europe‘s highest e-bike destination, Ischgl offers 300 kilometers of scenic bike trails for both traditional and electric bikes, along with 300 kilometers of hiking trails. Situated at an elevation of 1,600 meters, it shares borders with Vorarlberg and is surrounded by the magnificent Silvretta mountains to the south and the Verwall mountains to the north. SILVRETTA THERME
The Silvretta Therme combines business with pleasure effortlessly. The spa building features function rooms for up to 600 guests, including an adjustable 500-square-meter event hall. The trattoria on the ground floor offers delicious food and drinks for guests.
PARDORAMA
The conference room at Bergrestaurant Pardorama offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains of Ischgl, reaching up to 2,624 meters above sea level. The restaurant can be reached from Ischgl in just ten minutes by cable car. The conference room can accommodate up to 200 guests.
HEIDELBERGER HÜTTE LODGE
Situated at an altitude of 2,264 meters above sea level, Heidelberger Hütte lodge can be reached by skiing or snowcat, depending on your winter sports skills. In the summer, a forest road leads to the lodge. The lodge‘s conference room can accommodate approximately 50 guests.

ALPINARIUM
The museum, which is part of Galtür‘s avalanche barrier wall, is equipped with state-of-the-art conference technology. It offers two conference rooms, each with a size of 32 square meters (24 seats in rows, 18 in classroom seating), and an auditorium of 89 square meters (90 seats in rows, 60 in classroom seating).
SPORTS AND CULTURE CENTRE
Galtür‘s multifunctional leisure center, located in the Gamperle district, provides excellent opportunities for sports and event facilities. The Silvretta room (650 square meters) is equipped with a stage and can accommodate up to 450 guests in rows or up to 280 guests in classroom seating. Additional facilities include a foyer and a gallery.
MONTE GRILLRANCH
Monte Grillranch offers a charming and rustic atmosphere for group events and provides splendid views of the surrounding mountains. The ranch can be booked for groups with or without service.

COMMUNITY HALL
The community hall features a traditional Tyrolean design and is located in the center of Kappl. It includes an on-site bar called „Per Du,“ which is also suitable for larger groups. The big hall (300 square meters) can be divided into three individual sections and can accommodate 300 seats in rows or 240 seats in classroom seating. The foyer (200 square meters) offers space for 100 seats.
TRISANNA HALL
The „Trisanna“ hall is situated in the heart of See. It is spacious and flexible, allowing the event facilities to be easily adapted to your needs. The hall can be divided into two separate areas and features a stage. It offers seating for 450 guests in rows and 200 guests in classroom seating.
PANO-LOUNGE MEDRIGALM
The panoramic restaurant at See ski resort boasts a modern Alpine-style lounge located above the restaurant. It can accommodate up to 70 guests and is easily accessible via the Medrigjochbahn cable car.
