Se ualit is hat gender ou are attracted to. Biological se is the gender ou ere assigned at birth and cannot be changed.

Stereotypes d why they re H rmful A lot of people get bullied about their hobbies or interests. In some places, kids ith different se ualit get bullied and ha e to deal ith iolence more often then kids that are considered Normal . Most of this bull ing is created b gender stereot pes and ho to media portra people should act.

Another problem ith these topics is that there is a lot of gender stereot pes for both bo s and girls that can affect their life, most of these stereot pes follo the same trend being that bo s are strong, masculine ill take care of oman hile the girls are eak and quiet and must ork around the house and take care of the kids. This can be harmful to both bo s and girls, this can be harmful because the might not follo their passion and the ill feel less moti ated and more discouraged.

Another reason h this can be harmful is that in some places girls are still not allo ed to go to school and ha e to clean around the house and marr someone at a oung age.

Another stereot pe that applies in the real orld is during mo ies and lo e stories a princess is usuall being kept in a castle defended b a dragon and a prince has to sla the dragon and sa e the princess.

This can be a bad e ample for kids because it sho s that girls are hopeless and eak and bo s are strong and bra e hich is an unhealth mindset for both genders.

One of the largest parts of your identity is your personality. Your personality is who you are as a person, and how you react, feel, or think in different situations, which separates you from other people. The 5 big personality traits are traits that everyone has, but for each person, the percentage of these traits within themselves are unalike to everyone else. The 5 big personality traits are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, also known and abbreviated as OCEAN. Having a large percentage of openness means to have a large imagination, being open and aware to all emotions, and being a risk-taker. High openness is all of these things, but it can also mean that you can’t focus that well, often make impulsive decisions, and are very unpredictable. However, low openness is seen as being driven and literal.

Openness connects with me because I have a pretty high percentage of it. For example, I tend to take risks more than my friends and find it hard to listen to in class because I daydream

so my percentage of openness was 60%.

Conscientiousness is how self-disciplined you are and how high you set your expectations. Having low conscientiousness means you tend to be unorganized, irresponsible, and unreliable, but also flexible and open to adventures. High conscientiousness means you are very focused, prepared, but people can see you as being very stubborn. Most people are usually a mixture of both depending on what’s going on. For myself, I scored the lowest on conscientiousness. I agree with this because I am not usually the best in my class and I tend to be unorganized, irresponsible, and unreliable. I usually lose my belongings quickly and tend to forget why I go into rooms. Therefore, my percentage of conscientiousness was below 50%.

Extraversion is how you engage with others socially. By having high extraversion, you are usually more comfortable with being with friends and people and tend to be more open to others, but they don’t usually think before they speak. Having low extraversion means you tend to keep to yourself and don’t find being around people as enjoyable as others do. This connects to me because I like to be social and talk to people, but can also tend to say things when I think of them.

My percentage for this was 52%.

Agreeableness is the trait that values the opinion and feelings of others.

They’re usually kind, generous, and considerate of others. People tend to trust others who are agreeable. They are usually positive and optimistic about human nature. Being agreeable relates to how people work in relationships or within a group.

Although being agreeable is good, there are also negative sides to it. For example, people tend to take advantage of them and they are easily tricked. But being disagreeable means that you don’t rely on others' opinions and approval and are very skeptical, making most people see them as unfriendly. I relate to being agreeable the most. For example, if I’m in a bad situation, I try to think positively and optimistic. For agreeableness, I got 72%. Neuroticism is a trait that focuses more on negative emotions/feelings,

including sadness, anger, and anxiety.

They have a low tolerance for stress, very worried, and easily frustrated.

They tend to also be more emotional and think of situations as scary or threatening. However, it is very important to know that neuroticism is not bad for you but if anything healthy, and it can even protect you from harm.

For neuroticism, I was somewhat in the middle. I was surprised by this because I am not usually sad, and I’m usually positive. But for this, I got 56%.All five of these traits are a big part of my life because, throughout my life, all of my choices and decisions come from these five traits. If all of us didn’t have these five personality traits, then none of us would have a personality and we wouldn’t be any different than the next person. Another way that these five traits affect my daily life is that everyone else that I know, including my friends and family, also have these five traits, although the difference is none of them have the same level of each of the five traits, and that’s good because it helps us to interact with others who might, for example, be more agreeable or neurotic and it can help to push ourselves out of our comfort zone. We should want to understand this topic because it’s important to know how people deal in certain situations and how we can’t always blame them for their choices, because it might not be intentional.

Adolescence can also be what makes people themselves now, and how they identify themselves. Adolescence is the period of time where your brain and body develop the most and fastest, which is between the ages of 10 and 19 years of age. Adolescence connects to your identity because this is the part of your life where you learn lessons and are able to grow more as a person.

Throughout the years of adolescence, connections that are unused in the processing and thinking part of your brain (known as the grey matter) are being pruned away. This means that the brain is becoming more efficient and drop or forget this knowledge in order to strengthen others. In this time, adolescents can learn and improve their skills greatly. The synapsis in their brain can learn connections faster and they learn better while adults find it harder to do so. Pruning causes the person to be able to take in information better and learn at higher rates. This process called the pruning process begins at the back of your brain while the front of your brain, the prefrontal cortex, is developed last

The prefrontal cortex is the part of your brain that makes decisions, how you plan, and how you think of the consequences of your actions. It also solves problems and can be impulsive.

I know this is can be true because I tend to do impulsive things like choosing to say things that might not be mature and kind. This is developed in early adulthood. Teenagers usually rely on the amygdala, the part of your brain that has to do with impulses, emotion, and aggressive and instinctive behavior. Teenagers use this part of the brain more than adults do, and that’s why they tend to act more impulsively when they have to make certain situations. Teenagers can also act impulsively because of hormonal changes that happen during puberty. They also tend to want to be around friends more than family and are more likely to conform to others so they are accepted easier.

Because of this, they do more risky things with their peers like smoking,

drinking, and sexual affairs. But, being around others besides their family can also positively impact them. With healthy friendships, they are more honest, kind, and thoughtful with others of their age.

Both of these help the person going through them to find themselves and see who they are and who they fit in with.

Adolescence has a large impact on your identity because it is the period of time where you grow most as a person and you learn lessons that stick with you throughout life. In this section of your life, you learn how to mature, how to know where you fit in, how you know who you need and don’t need in your life, and much more. It’s also important because you know who you are. As a small child, you don’t differ from other babies because you consisted of only a couple things, when you were hungry, when you pooped in your diaper, and when you were tired. But as you grow up, you find out hobbies of yours, what you enjoy doing, what you dislike doing, and etc. For example, as I grew up, I found that I loved to play tennis but hated debate classes.

Usually, I’d be excited for Social Studies but when we have a discussion, I tend to debate whether I should fake being sick.

But now, I know that doing things I don’t like is good for me and it helps me to get out of my comfort zone and explore new things. If I always stick with what I know, how will I get to find my new passions?

That’s why doing things is always good for you, not just during adolescence, but throughout life.

Both adolescence and the personality traits are crucial in developing your identity. They help you to find who you are as a person and show how you differentiate from others, they teach you lessons that you carry with you for the rest of your, and they’re a part of you. While going through adolescence, you may think that it’s hard and difficult, but in reality, it’s preparing you for when there are no more teachers to show you how to advance for your job and there’s no more security guards waiting outside of the school gates to make sure that you’re safe from harm. But most importantly, it’s showing you that all you need is you, and that no one can take that away from you. Personality teaches you that you don’t have to always have the same interests or the same hobbies when you make a friend, but that sometimes being with someone completely different from you is healthy and interesting. I have two best friends, and they’re the opposites of each other when it comes to hobbies, personalities and many more things. But I get along with both of them equally and would not change them at all.

This bar chart shows how I scored on the personalit traits test. Out of all the traits, I scored the most on neuroticism and the least on extraversion. I can see how i scored like this because i usuall like to think b m self or overthink this which mostl includes thinking about this negativel . Most people might see me as quite livel and loud which doesn t match the graph because i scored low on the extraversion. This is because I use talking to m friends as a wa to clear up m mind so I don't get swallowed up in m thoughts and fall into a deeper hole. Another reason I think I scored high on neuroticism is because I get stressed prett easil because there's man things in m mind and sometimes I get irritated b small things.

IN CONCLUSION In conclusion, all of these traits are a big part of m life because the basicall are the things that tell ou ho to react or decide things in a situation. These things can also mean ho people see ou as a person. Like for e ample, someone might sa that ou are a ver agreeable person and a not so conscientious person. Race/Ethnicit /Culture n this unit, we learned a lot about race, ethnicity, and culture. Here is an example of the text we read where we learned about third-culture kids (TCKs): “TCK's parents were born in one country. Then, they moved to a new one. TCKs grow up with the new country's culture.

But they mix it with the culture of their parents. This mix is a new, third culture. Living like this sometimes makes me feel free. feel as if 'm wearing di erent masks.” (Newsela Article, Ndéla Faye).

● This means that the main idea of this is what a TCK is. They live in a di erent country than their parents were born/from. ● Now my understanding of TCK’s is that they have a mum and dad from a di erent country and they don’t live in those countries. ○ This can have an impact on their identity because they might not fit in or they might get made fun of for not being the same race or having a di erent culture. Also, maybe they would have a di erent accent or speak a di erent language.

Signi cance: This topic is important for teenagers to understand so they know more about there selves and family. To learn about identity and your family and the people around you because say, for example, an American who bullied people in his school in America but then moved to say, Thailand, gets bullied for being di erent and he learns that it’s not nice to bully and he gets empathy and more understanding.
