LOCAL NEWS by Marta and Lucía T. Sixth flat burns on Saturday night in Pola de Siero The fire took place on the living room of a flat around 4am. The owners of the house had just left the house before the firefighters arrived. Due to the hour of the fire, some neighbors were sleeping so one of them was trapped inside his own house. The firefighters started moving all the neighbors out of the flat so they weren’t injured.

Finally the fire was extinguished and they all could return to their houses safely.

Evacuation by fire extinguishers prank On Monday morning, the bus station in Pola de Siero was evacuated. The cause was a group of teenagers that played a practical joke by emptying two fire extinguishers of the station. At the end the cleaning service cleaned all the mess and everything went back to normal.

SCHOOL NEWS New logo for the Language Department?

After the Language Department changes,, they were searching for a new logo for their door. They suggested their students to help them make one. After a difficult decision, the winners were some students of 2ยบ ESO C. Here is the final result:

Six months later, case of missing Spanish teen is going nowhere They are no longer looking for Diana Quer. It has been six months since the 18-year-old from Madrid disappeared in the Galician coastal village of A Pobra do Caramiñal, where she used to spend all her summers.

Sources at the Civil Guard admit that the investigation is stuck. Officers are now waiting to see if some new clue turns up, or if one of the suspects on their list makes a mistake.

Meanwhile, Diana’s family has hired a team of private investigators. But six months later, the case seems nowhere closer to being solved.

Mexican migrant kills himself after being deported from the US A Mexican migrant who had been recently deported from the US committed suicide on Tuesday by jumping off a bridge near the border, which connects Tijuana and San Diego. Mexican authorities have confirmed that José Luis Jiménez, 44, had been deported last week. Lying next to his body was a plastic bag containing personal items.

According to the local media, the man screamed out because he was being returned to Mexico.

The incident took place on the same day that the Department of Homeland Security published documents announcing Trump’s new deportation changes, which consists of deporting every irregular migrant who has been in the country less than three years.

Bolivia doubles amount of land authorized to grow coca plant Bolivia has just approved a law nearly doubling the amount of land to produce coca, authorizing production of some 22,000 hectares between two powerful rival farmers’ groups, one of them led by President Evo Morales.

Coca leaves are chewed in Bolivia and other South American countries as a stimulant, with similar effects to caffeine. The practice is protected by the state and it is the state who establishes the amount of land to be used for growing the plant.

There has been extensive anger at the law in the Bolivian government and on the social networks saying that it will only encourage drug trafficking. The government argues adding that the new law simply regularizes an already-existing reality.

2017 BRIT AWARDS This past 22nd , February , the 2017 Brit Awards took place in The 02 , London. There were three hosts ; Dermot O’Leary , Caspar Lee , Emma Willis.

Some of the winners were Little Mix who won their 1st Brit with “Shout out to my ex” for best single. The 1975 won the Brit for the best group. One Direction won another Brit in the Best Music Video section with the “History” music video. David Bowie was also one of the winners of the night with “Blackstar” who was awarded for Best Album. They were plenty of amazing perfomances as well as other many great nominees and also winners.
