The University of West Georgia is located just 45 minutes west of Atlanta, Georgia on a beautiful and green 2.62Km campus in the safe, charming community of Carrollton, GA. With nearly 12,000 students, UWG students regularly secure paid internships and post-completion job offers in Atlanta, where more than 16 “Fortune 500” companies have headquarters and more than 1,250 other multinational corporations have offices. Atlanta boasts the 10th largest economy in the U.S. yet Carrollton offers a safe, affordable, nearby alternative. Atlanta is also home to the world’s busiest airport. SCHOLARSHIPS

Attracting well-qualified international students is a top priority and part of our mission. In support of this goal, we have developed an Out-of-State Tuituion Waiver program, which could save you more than $15,000 in tuition per academic year! Waivers are limited and not guaranteed. Application for a tuition waiver is made after admission to UWG. Our office also assists international students with on campus employment and securing off-campus authorization for paid internships and postgraduation work authorization throughout the U.S. UWG offers generous academic merit scholarships including opportunities for full tuition, on-campus housing, and meal plans.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Freshman Admissions:

Transcripts: Official secondary school transcripts must be sent to the University of West Georgia. These can be either be sent electronically from an official school email address to global@westga.edu, or through the post in an official signed and sealed school envelope.

Exam Scores: Submit official ACT or SAT exam scores to the University of West Georgia. Scores must be submitted by the exam board directly to the University. Exemptions from the SAT or ACT exam may be possible based on secondary school results.

Proof of English: All applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency. Minimum scores; TOEFL iBT: 69, IELTS Academic: 6.0. Other exams can be substituted for these requirements. Please contact global@westga.edu for a full list.

Transfer Applicants: Students who have completed 1 or more years of study in a university program may qualify as transfer applicant. Transfer applicants must arrange for a copy of their transcripts be sent to the University of West Georgia directly from the institution you attended. If the transcript is not in English, the transcript must be accompanied by a certified translation. Transcripts can be sent electronically from an official university email address to global@westga.edu, or through the post in an official signed and sealed university envelope.

Transfer applicants are exempt from having to provide ACT or SAT exam results, but still must complete the Proof of English requirements above.

GRADUATE PROGRAMS
