La lista roja del patrimonio arquitectónico español condensa actualmente la imagen de una España vacía también entre los hitos construidos de la historia monumental de nuestro país, constatando el riesgo de desaparición no sólo del valor de sus elementos constitutivos, sino también de la relevancia histórica de los contextos en los que se emplazan.

The red list of Spanish architectural heritage currently condenses the image of an empty Spain also among the landmarks built in the monumental history of the country, confirming the risk of disappearance not only of the value of its constituent elements, but also of the historical relevance of the contexts in which they are located.

Surge así la necesidad de formular un nuevo operativo de acción frente al abandono del paisaje monumental, recuperando el valor de su enmarcación territorial a través de la colección y procesado de los objetos concretos de la arquitectura.

That arises the need to formulate a new operative against the abandonment of the monumental landscape, recovering the value of its territorial framework through the collection and processing of the concrete objects of architecture.

Ex-situ, es el primer proyecto piloto para el Palacio del Canto del Pico.

Coronando el alto de una montaña granítica a 1011 metros de altitud , se impone sobre Torrelodones el Palacio abandonado del Canto del Pico, un indudable hito visual.

Vaciado sin compasión en el tiempo, ahora no podemos sino entender su utilidad y reconvertirla derribando lo que queda de él y desmontando en piezas únicamente sus fachadas, que sí guardan un valor específico individual.

En el lugar de lo desarmado, un nuevo esqueleto versátil se construye para convertirse en el centro de operaciones. Entre la superficie y lo subterráneo, un espacio expositivo que funciona gracias a un sistema productivo y a la incesante actividad que pone en relación todas las piezas de este engranaje.

En el corazón, la comuna, como el lugar que habitarán los teloneros de esta acción que se transmite 24/7 hacia el exterior.

La estructura teatral, modular y porticada genera sujeción para los elementos necesarios para esta adecuación. Un primer filtro permanente y transparente lo conseguirá todo en invierno, y en verano, sobre él, se deslizara la capa textil color amarillo que hará menos frágil al conjunto ante las condiciones extremas.

La Corona de la ciudad transformada en otro objeto del paisaje.

Dentro de la atmósfera interior aparece un último estrato de acondicionamiento donde el habitante es director de su propia adaptación al clima.

Concebido como una apropiación de un pequeño trozo de suelo, el lugar para habitar individualmente es el espacio mínimo pero suficiente. Un hueco libre en una estructura creada desde su inicio para esperar ese momento, el re-habitar el palacio.

El carácter mutante del ya no palacio será una consecuencia constante.

El simple movimiento del sistema de dobles cortinas térmicas y solares, aclimatan el espacio. Y lo único presente en cada parcela de habitación en su origen es un mueble todo-en-1.

Todo lo demás vendrá seguramente de IKEA. Esto es pues EX – SITU. Una nueva infraestructura de reciclaje en cotidiana convivencia con la museización del propio producto de su trabajo. Un ejercicio más por reafirmar el valor del fragmento a través de la arquitectura, y el lugar de esta en el contexto y el tejido que la moldea.

Así, desde Torrelodones, EX – SITU inicia un sistema transmaterial de relaciones autonómicas y nacionales donde los 778 elementos convalecientes de nuestro patrimonio recuperarán su utilidad como palacios-piloto de una nueva red de procesado de residuos culturales.

Ex-situ is the first pilot project of the Palacio del Canto del Pico.

Crowning the top of a granite mountain at 1011 meters of altitude, appears the abandoned Palace of Canto del Pico, an undoubted visual landmark that stands out over the village of Torrelodones.

Mercilessly emptied for a long time, now we should understand its usefulness and reconvert it by demolishing its remains and disassembling only its facades into pieces, which do keep a specific individual value.

In place of the disassembled, a versatile new skeleton is built to become the center of operations. Between the surface and the underground, a space of exhibition that works thanks to a production system and an incessant activity that links all the pieces of this gear.

In the heart, the commune, the place where the characters of this action that is transmitted 24/7 will live.

The theatrical, modular and porticoed structure generates support for the elements necessary for their adaptation. A first permanent and transparent filter will achieve everything in winter, and in summer, the yellow textile layer will slide over it, making the whole set less fragile under extreme conditions.

The Crown of the city transformed into another landscape object.

Within the interior atmosphere, a final conditioning layer appears, where the inhabitant is the director of his own adaptation to the climate chosen.

Conceived as an appropriation of a small piece of ground, the place to live individually is the minimum but the sufficient. A free hole in a structure created from the beginning to wait for that moment, to re-inhabit the palace.

The mutant character of the no longer palace will be a constant consequence.

The simple movement of the system of double thermal and solar curtains acclimates the space. And the only thing present in each room originally is an all-in-one piece of furniture. Everything else will surely come from IKEA. This is then EX - SITU. A new recycling infrastructure in daily coexistence with the museumization of the product of their work.

One more exercise to reaffirm the value of the fragment through architecture, and its place in the context and the fabric that shapes it.

Thus, from Torrelodones, EX - SITU initiates a transmaterial system of regional and national relations where the 778 convalescent elements of our heritage will regain their usefulness as pilot palaces for a new network of processing cultural waste.
