I am very pleased that Council is again sponsoring Middlemount’s premier tennis tournament. The 2015 IRC and Middlemount Coal Tennis Open is on from June 13 to 14 and will see tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skills competing for $4,000 in prize money and trophies. 500 Poppies Workshop Middlemount Library ‘Call to arms’ for our Poppy making workshops We identify the flowering poppies on the battlefields of France, Belgium and Gallipoli in the spring of 1915 as a symbol of great loss in war and hope for those left behind. Our aim for this project is to create 500 Poppies throughout the Isaac Region to remember all those that served. Isaac Library Service is inviting you to be part of our 500 Poppy Project. We will be using methods of crochet, knitting, paper, felt, card or material to create the poppies with your assistance. Materials and patterns will be made available for you at your Library.

Middlemount skate park gets an urban upgrade An enthusiastic group of local students recently joined graffiti artist Mark Paddick, to give the Middlemount skate park a new lease of life. In conjunction with National Youth Week, ‘Skate Park Graffiti Art’ was an initiative held in Middlemount, Clermont and Moranbah as a way for local youth to have fun, learn new skills and make a vibrant contribution to their communities. We think they did a great job!
