Get ahead of the game, prepay your rates With Isaac rates notices arriving from March 13, it’s time to get ahead of the game. Pay your rates by April 12 to receive a 10% discount on general rates. Rates help Council provide services like park and facility maintenance.
Chief Executive Officer Gary Stevenson PSM said ratepayers can shake off the dread of bill time by prepaying their rates. “Council offers a number of easy payment options including BPAY instalments weekly, fortnightly or monthly,” he said. “This is your chance to reduce the financial burden by paying your rates ahead of time. “Prompt payment of rates will secure a 10 per cent discount, if paid before Wednesday April 12. “Rates, collected from more than 10,000 Isaac properties, will help Council deliver essential services and capital projects. “These include maintenance and upgrades to local roads and water infrastructure to resource recovery, public facilities and much more.” Ratepayers who have encountered delays with the postal service in their area can register an email address with Council. “Council is happy to help by sending an additional electronic copy of your rates notice to a nominated email,” said Mr Stevenson. “If you’ve moved recently, please remember to update your details with Council so your rates notice can arrive on time.
“Some financial institutions can take up to three working days to process an electronic payment. “So please check with your bank or credit union to ensure your payment is received by Council in time to secure your discount.” To prepay your rates please contact Council’s Rating Team for more details and advice on the estimated amount. Council rates and charges that remain unpaid after April 12 will incur 11 per cent interest per annum, compounded daily. The 10 per cent discount applies to general rates, and excludes all special rates and charges, provided outstanding amounts and overdue rates and interest are paid in full by the due date. If you have not received your rates notice by March 27 please contact Council. Ratepayers can register their details and speak to Council’s Rating Team by calling 1300 ISAACS (1300 47 22 27) or email records@isaac.qld.gov.au between 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Isaac to welcome Queen’s Baton in lead up to Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Local legends are being called on to carry the Queen’s Baton in Isaac as it prepares to host the Queen’s Baton Relay. In just seven days the Baton will start its global journey at Buckingham Palace on Commonwealth Day, Monday 13 March. It will travel through every Commonwealth nation and territory on its way to Australia. From now until 15 May 2017, anyone can nominate a person who inspires them to be great. The eyes of the Commonwealth will be on Isaac on Wednesday March 21, 2018 as the Baton journeys towards its final destination, the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Opening Ceremony on 4 April 2018. Across Australia approximately 3,800 batonbearers are needed to share the dream of the ‘friendly Games’ as part of the QBR. A Community Batonbearer Nomination Program, which opened yesterday, will offer the people of Isaac and the surrounding region an opportunity to carry the Baton. Batonbearers are people of all abilities who inspire others to be great. Batonbearers will represent the community with pride and showcase to the world the region’s remarkable people, strong mining and agricultural industries, rich history and culture, sporting success, cultural activity, and beautiful landscapes. Setting off in Australia on 25 December 2017, the Baton will travel for 100 days to connect with as many people as possible in every state and territory. The Queen’s Baton carries a message from Her Majesty The Queen through the entire Commonwealth. The Games are declared officially open when the message is read aloud.

Have achieved something extraordinary or inspired others to achieve something extraordinary; or
•
Have made a significant contribution to either sport, education, the arts, culture, charity or within their community; or
•
Have excelled, or aspire to excel athletically or personally; or
•
Contribute to a fun, friendly, vibrant and inclusive community;

Are an Australian citizen or lawfully entitled to reside in Australia during the Relay period (25 December 2017 – 4 April 2018).

CLASS DESCRIPTION Gut and Butt Blast Is a target class that focuses on strengthening and toning the nine core divisions of the abdominal plane, simultaneously blasting the three muscles of the buttocks, hamstrings and quadriceps. This will increase fat metabolism at rest and help slim and tone those problematic areas. Although not targeted, general whole body conditioning applies and while challenging, is more than suitable for any fitness level. Open gym This is your opportunity to use the gym facilities, there will be a basic weights program and WOD on offer for your utilisation, or you could just be creative and do your own training.
HIIT - High-Intensity Interval Training This training technique commands full effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise followed by active recovery periods. This for of exercise uses power and cardio, keeping the heart rate high and metabolising fat at the same time. Boot Camp Outdoor boot camp is a type of outdoor group class that mixes your traditional calisthenic and body weight exercise with interval and strength training. We incorporate tyre flipping and throwing, battle rope work, kettlebell, fence climbing and much more. It is a work at your own pace class designed to be challenging whilst also having fun. Boxing 4 Fitness This is a moderate to high intensity cardio boxing class effective in defining the body’s musculature, while improving balance, flexibility and coordination. The cardio component uses the body’s energy systems and improves your ability to use oxygen, helping you to work harder for longer and burn fat in the process. Circuit training This is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity/low-intensity aerobic energy. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise ‘circuit’ is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. It is highly enjoyable and recommended to all levels of fitness.
Metafit This is a 30mins bodyweight training system that gets results! It is a functional and effective, metabolic workout that will change the way you train. Created by a former Royal Marine Commando, Metafit combines the latest HIIT techniques with traditional ‘old school’ bodyweight exercises to set the metabolism on fire.

One Million Stars to End Violence Isaac Libraries will host star weaving work stations between August 2016 - July 2017. Everyone from individuals to community groups are invited to join the project and help weave stars. Help Isaac Libraries reach their goal of 10,000 stars
August 2016 - July 2017 One Million Stars to End Violence is a love and peace filled community project started by Brisbane artist Maryann Talia Pau and supported by Queensland State Government. The goal is to weave one million stars to display at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018.

Children love Baby Bounce, Storytime, Craft and Rhymetime The Clermont Library runs several weekly children’s sessions. They are a good way to connect with other parents with young children.
Baby Bounce is a chance for parents to interact with their child through movement, music and song.
Rhymetime and Craft is held from 9.30am to 10am every Tuesday for children up to five years old, where they can sing and dance to nursery rhyme songs.
Storytime and Craft time for the littlies is held at the Clermont Library every Friday from 9.30am to 10.30am and caters for children up to Prep age.
Baby Bounce is held on Thursday from 9.30am to 10am and is aimed at children aged up to two years.
