Clermont cattle sale season open for business The first Clermont cattle sale of the year is set to kick off this month bringing with it the hope for another bumper season. “We are upgrading lighting and the loading dock, replacing the scalehouse fascia and stair tread, redressing saleyards pens and extending the gantry walkway. “The works will bolster safety and efficiency with benefits for agents and vendors as well as staff, truck and train operators. “We are committed to providing, operating and maintaining the Saleyards to deliver safe, efficient and cost effective services.” Chair of Clermont Saleyards Committee Cr Geoff Bethel said he looks forward to seeing the results of the first sale of the year. “The season has started a bit light with not as much rain as we would like.

Vendors from around the region are readying their stock for the sale on Wednesday February 15 at the Clermont Saleyards. Mayor Anne Baker said Council is working hard to complete upgrades to the facility in preparation.
“This time last year we had a decent amount of rain, after many years of drought, which helped to produce record weights and sale prices.
“I’m hoping the wet season will kick in to keep a good market price for 2017.” For more details and a full list of sale dates at the Clermont Saleyards visit www.isaac.qld.gov.au or call Council’s 24/7 Customer Service Centre on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227). Isaac... helping to energise the world
