BUSINESSES RECEIVE HELPING HAND This week Council endorsed the first parcel of Community Chest Fund recipients with more than $75,000 to be distributed to nine local businesses as part of Council’s Road to COVID-19 Stimulus Packages. Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said over 30 local businesses had made an application to receive up to $10,000 as Council helps communities get back on their feet during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Many small to medium local business owners are doing it tough financially right now, and it’s our priority to individually assess these applications, ensure funds are being allocated fairly, and then disperse the money as quickly as we reasonably can.” “It’s great to announce and award the first parcel of successful applications, with more still under review, and more to be announced in the near future,” Mayor Baker said. Mayor Anne Baker said the grants could assist with ongoing costs such as rent and bills, re-establishment costs such as seeking professional advice, or even diversifying business activities.

PUBLIC NOTICES UPDATE - STAGED RETURN OF INTERRUPTED SERVICES Council wishes to advise residents the resumption of interrupted services will return in accordance with Government directives. Some returning services and facilities will have health and safety restrictions in place and signed appropriately. As interrupted services are returned, Council requests that the community adhere to health and safety directions at all times including; maintaining 1.5m distance from others, practicing strong hygiene practices and covering coughs and sneezes.
COUNCIL ENACTS CLERMONT WATER REMISSIONS POLICY Isaac Regional Council has endorsed the application of the Utility Charges Remission - Extraordinary Circumstances Policy, as adopted on Tuesday, 17 March 2020 in response to the recent water discolouration event in Clermont. Residents have been granted to receive an annualised 17-day proportional rates remission for Clermont
properties which receive water consumption and infrastructure charges for the period between 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020. This remission will be applied as a financial adjustment to the property owner’s next bill issued in the 2020-21 financial year.
REOPENING OF FOSSICKING GENERAL PERMISSION AREAS (GPA’S) In accordance with Queensland Government’s Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DRNME) directive on 1 May, 2020, the following Fossicking General Permission Areas (GPA’s) are now open for public access: • Central Gold Districts • Black Ridge GPA, Clermont • Town Reserve GPA, Clermont • Museum Reserve GPA, Clermont

BACK IN BUSNESS! Isaac Libraries have re-opened following the easing of Queensland’s COVID-19 restrictions. Patrons are welcome to return stock, browse and borrow but there is a limit of 10 visitors at a time in the Clermont library to maintain social distancing and a few other changes to ensure we adhere to government directives. Library programs, such as Storytime and Craft, are still on hold due to visitor limits and social distancing.
FREE WI-FI All Isaac Libraries now offer free Wi-Fi to visitors. You can access up to 500mb of data per day via your smartphone, tablet or laptop. It’s great for browsing and downloading some of our fantastic online resources. Just search for the IRC Libraries network in your settings and follow the prompts to register and log-in. It’s available inside and outside the library so you can maintain social distancing.
E-RESOURCES An Isaac Libraries membership allows you to borrow out not just books, DVDs and audiobooks on CD, but also e-books and digital audiobooks. Library membership also gives you access to e-resources, digital magazines, movies and music online. You don’t even need to visit a library to sign-up you can join online at www.isaac.qld.gov.au/isaac-libraries
QUEENSLAND DAY Saturday, 6 June is Queensland Day. There may not be State of Origin 2020 because of Covid-19 but there are many ways you can celebrate what makes Queensland great. TUNE INTO Isaac Libraries now offer Freegal Music to patrons. Freegal Music is a free music service offering access to about 15 million songs and over 40,000 music videos. Patrons can access Freegal Music through the Libraries, Arts and Cultural Services link on the Isaac Regional Council website or download the Freegal app on to a device. You will need your library membership number and Libero password to access Freegal. You have 24 hour 7 days a week of free music streaming and you can download three titles to keep per week.
MOVIE ONLINE WITH Kanopy can bring the cinema to you in the comfort of your lounge. Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform for public libraries that offers viewers a large collection of award-winning films and documentaries. There are collections on Australian films, popular films, foreign films, documentaries. Kanopy for Kids has many popular children’s TV shows and films To access Kanopy, you will need to download the Kanopy app on your device and be an Isaac Libraries member to create an account. You will then be able to download 10 films/ documentaries each month, but each download has a time limit for viewing.

Researchers think that if everyone washed their hands properly, about 1 million lives would be saved every year.1 When performed correctly, hand hygiene results in a reduction of microorganisms on hands.
