STORYTIME GOES VIRTUAL WITH BRIGHTLY COLOURED CHICKENS Isaac kids will join many others across Australia on Wednesday, 27 May, as National Simultaneous Storytime hits the digital pavement for a virtual storytime event. Emma Watkins (everyone’s favourite Yellow Wiggle) is sharing this year’s book, Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas by Lucinda Gifford, with Isaac library members. The book tells the story of the chickens Whitney and Britney and the signing fun they get up to.

PUBLIC NOTICES UPDATE - STAGED RETURN OF INTERRUPTED SERVICES Council wishes to advise residents the resumption of interrupted services will return in accordance with Government directives. Some returning services and facilities will have health and safety restrictions in place and signed appropriately. As interrupted services are returned, Council requests community adhere to health and safety directions at all times including; maintaining 1.5m distance from others, practice strong hygiene practices and cover coughs and sneezes.
CLERMONT WASTEWATER SEWER MAINS RELINING Clermont residents are advised Council will be undertaking repairs to the sewer mains within the township, as part of Isaac Regional Council’s commitment to improve wastewater removal service quality and delivery. WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Only some residences will be affected, as such prior to entry a formal notice will be issued by a Council liaison officer 2 days prior to the works taking place. WHEN IS IT HAPPENING? To minimise disruption to households these works will be undertaken:
Council has engaged contractors Relining Solutions to undertake mains flushing/cleaning and relining works.

COUNCIL ENACTS CLERMONT WATER REMISSIONS POLICY Isaac Regional Council has endorsed the application of the Utility Charges Remission - Extraordinary Circumstances Policy, as adopted on Tuesday, 17 March 2020 in response to the recent water discolouration event in Clermont. Residents have been granted to receive an annualised 17-day proportional rates remission for Clermont
properties which receive water consumption and infrastructure charges for the period between 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020. This remission will be applied as a financial adjustment to the property owner’s next bill issued in the 2020-21. financial year.

RE-OPENING OF ISAAC COMMUNITY HALLS AND CENTRES In accordance with Queensland Government’s directive for the staged resumption of services, Community Halls and Centres will be re-open with restrictions from Monday 18 May 2020. The following facilities across the region will re-open with operational hours of 8am – 5pm, Monday -Friday with restrictions as signed: • Glenden Recreation Centre (excluding after school and toddler programs until further notice) • Moranbah Community Centre • Dysart Civic Centre The following facilities across the region will be reopened to the public on an application basis: • Middlemount Community • Clermont Civic Centre • Nebo Memorial Hall

Council acknowledges community groups may be experiencing financial hardship due to social restrictions preventing events or activities from being held which would normally be a source of revenue to fund recurrent expenses supporting the operations and memberships of organisations. WELCOME BACK! Isaac Libraries re-opened this week following the easing of Queensland’s COVID-19 restrictions. Patrons are welcome to return stock, browse and borrow but there is a limit of 10 visitors at a time in the Clermont Library to maintain social distancing and a few other changes to ensure we adhere to the government directives. Library programs, such as Storytime and Craft, are still on hold due to visitor limits and social distancing. All library items out on loan have had the return date extended to June. Library items can be returned through the inside returns box or the after- hours returns chute.
FREE WI-FI All Isaac Libraries now offer free Wi-Fi to visitors. You can access up to 500mb of data per day via your smartphone, tablet or laptop. It’s great for browsing and downloading some of our fantastic online resources. Just search for the IRC Libraries network in your settings and follow the prompts to register and log-in. It’s available inside and outside the library so you can maintain social distancing.
E-RESOURCES An Isaac Libraries membership allows you to borrow out not just books, DVDs and audiobooks on CD, but also e-books and digital audiobooks. Library membership also gives you access to e-resources, digital magazines, movies and music online.
