REGOGNISE A LOCAL HERO FOR THE 2022 AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS Nominations for those who truly embody Isaac’s mantra of pure people power are now open for the 2022 Isaac Region Australia Day Awards. Residents are encouraged to nominate their community champion, the quiet go-getter and the humble hero by Tuesday, 30 November 2021. Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said the annual awards are an opportunity to acknowledge and say thanks to some of the region’s most noteworthy residents. “We are region rich in resources, but we are also blessed with the greatest resource of all - our people,” Mayor Baker said. “We continue to show that our pure people power is helping our communities to thrive as we continue to help energise the world. In Isaac, we’re used to meeting new people and no-one stays a stranger for long. “We enjoy sharing our enthusiasm and pride with each other. Australia Day award are a chance to celebrate that person we all think highly of.”
Mayor Baker said the awards honour those individuals, groups and organisations who have made a significant contribution to our social, civic, sporting and cultural life locally, nationally and internationally. “Nominees can be from all walks of life from youth, to community groups, to senior citizens,” she said. “We want to shine a light on the outstanding achievements of everyday people who make us proud to be Australian.” Nominations for the 2022 Isaac Australia Day Awards are now open until Tuesday, 30 November 2021.
