PUBLIC NOTICE CUSTOMER SERVICE COUNTERS AND FOYERS - SERVICE INTERRUPTION In accordance with Australian Government directive issued Sunday 29 March by the Prime Minister, operations at all customer service counters and Council foyers will be suspended from close of business, Monday, 30 March 2020, until further notice.

Operations affected include: Customer service counters and Council foyers at Clermont, Dysart, Glenden, Middlemount, Moranbah, Nebo and St Lawrence.

Council recognises that these steps are unfortunate and may cause inconvenience, however, the decision to suspend these services indefinitely has not been taken lightly and is implemented in accordance with current Federal and State Guidelines and in the interests of the health and well-being of our residents.

SKATE PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, OUTSIDE GYMS, PUBLIC BBQ FACILITIES CLOSURES In accordance with Australian Government directive issued Sunday, 29 March 2020 by the Prime Minister, Council is required to close Council operated skate parks, playgrounds and outside gyms in public outdoor areas.

By order of Isaac Region Council, closures will include all BBQ facilities in public outdoor areas.

Public park areas remain open however may change at a future date.

CAMPGROUND CLOSURES Following the Queensland Government announcement on Wednesday, 25 March 2020 in relation to the closure of all campgrounds in national parks, state forests and state managed recreation and protected areas, in response to the COVID-19 (corona virus) outbreak, Council is now also required to do the same for all Council operated camp sites.

This includes all sites within the Isaac Region as outlined below: • St Lawrence Recreation Grounds • Carmila Beach • Notch Point/Yarrawonga • Lake Elphinstone • Mt Britton • Theresa Creek Dam • Flaggy Rock The closure of camping grounds does not include residential caravan parks.

People who have camp sites booked will receive a full refund for unused camping permits.

LIBRARIES, MUSEUMS, GALLERIES AND COMMUNITY AND RECREATION CENTRES - SERVICE INTERRUPTION Operations to Council libraries, museums, galleries and community and recreation centres will be suspended to meet the latest Australian Government directives from close of business, Wednesday, 25 March 2020.

Operations affected include: •

PUBLIC NOTICE CLERMONT WASTEWATER SEWER MAINS RELINING Clermont residents are advised Council will be undertaking repairs to the sewer mains within the township, as part of Isaac Regional Council’s commitment to improve wastewater removal service quality and delivery.

Only some residences will be affected, as such prior to entry a formal notice will be issued by a Council liaison officer 2 days prior to the works taking place.

To minimise disruption to households these works will be undertaken:

Council has engaged contractors Relining Solutions to undertake mains flushing/cleaning and relining works.

25 March 2020 to 27 May 2020

The contractors Relining Solutions teams will require entry to some residences yards to conduct these works.

Between 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday Works in open spaces and public areas may be conducted over the weekends.

FOSSICKING GENERAL PERMISSION AREAS GPA’S CLOSED Following the Queensland Government announcement on Monday, 30 March 2020in relation to the closure of all Fossicking General Permission Areas (GPA’s), in response to the COVID-19 (corona virus) outbreak. Council is now required to close GPA’s which we have tenure of within the Region on State land until further notice.

This includes sites the below fossicking areas outlined below: • Flat Diggings GPA, Clermont • Black Ridge GPA, Clermont • Town Reserve GPA, Clermont • Museum Reserve GPA, Clermont

HAVE YOUR SAY - FEEDBACK ON CAPRICORN STREET CYCLE TRACK Isaac Regional Council is inviting feedback from the Clermont community for a proposed Capricorn Street cycle track.

Isaac Regional Council has been successful as part of the 2019-20 Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program by Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) for funding to develop a two-way cycle track. The 450m cycle track will start from the Capricorn Street – Sirius Street intersection and go down to the Capricorn Street – Kitchener Street Intersection.

Community feedback is welcome until 5pm on Friday, 8 May 2020.

Make your views count and have your say before 5pm, 8 May 2020 at www.isaac.qld.gov.au/homepage/180/ capricorn-street-cycle-track. Alternatively, you can call Isaac Regional Council on 1300 47 22 27 to provide your comments over the phone.

As part of Council’s commitment to deliver a range of services that promote community safety, health and wellbeing, we are delivering the cycle track for the Clermont community.

COUNCIL ENACTS CLERMONT WATER REMISSIONS POLICY Isaac Regional Council has endorsed the application of the Utility Charges Remission - Extraordinary Circumstances Policy, as adopted on Tuesday, 17 March 2020 in response to the recent water discolouration event in Clermont.

Residents have been granted to receive an annualised 17-day proportional rates remission for Clermont properties which receive water consumption and infrastructure charges for the period between 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020.

This remission will be applied as a financial adjustment to the property owner’s next bill issued in the 2020-21. financial year.

AS A COMMUNITY WE CAN OVERCOME contributed by Dale Last MP It’s fair to say that we live in uncertain times thanks to Coronavirus. Unfortunately, there is also a lot of incorrect information that is circulating, especially on social media, that is confusing people.

Whilst we have been fortunate that the pandemic has been mainly confined to cities and larger centres, the decisions that the National Cabinet have had to make will have a definite effect on places like Clermont.

The most important thing to remember is that, no matter where you live, help is available. I was hoping to be able to share this information face to face however, due to travel restrictions, that is not possible.

Firstly, if you have queries that relate to symptoms, treatment or the effect on your health, please call the National Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 020 080.

For up-to-date, reliable information on the virus, support that is available and what to do if you, or someone you know, thinks they may have Coronavirus, please visit www.australia.gov.au Support is available for businesses, employees, apprentices, trainees and self-employed people who, due to the pandemic, have seen a reduction in their income. If your business is affected, your first port of call should be the Business Contact Centre. Specialist advisers are available 7 days a week to help businesses and employees access assistance so that when things return to normal, we can all move forward. The Business Contact Centre can be contacted on 13 28 46.

There has also been some confusion surrounding ‘selfisolation’ and ‘self-quarantine’. Self-isolation is what we are all being asked to do. This includes staying at home, unless it is essential for you to go out, social distancing and the limits on gatherings in public and in private. Self-quarantine applies to people who have or are expected to test positive to COVID-19. If you are ordered to self-quarantine you cannot leave your house or have contact with people who do not live at the same residence.

In addition to financial assistance, there are several other programs available to help with situations that may be caused by, or made worse, by the pandemic and the need to self-isolate. Medicare-subsidised telehealth services, where you consult with your doctor by phone or video conference, is being made available to more people.

Support for families affected by, or at risk of, domestic violence has been boosted and mental health services have also been increased. www.headtohealth.gov.au is a great resource if you are looking for information or guidance on how to maintain good mental health during the pandemic.
