Changes on the horizon for four-legged friends
Isaac Regional Council is working towards a series of commitments for dog control management across its 17 vibrant communities. Mayor Anne Baker said Council has heard residents’ concerns and understands the issues currently being discussed in Isaac. “There’s no doubt about that Isaac residents loves their dogs – they at times provide us protection, friendship, therapy, exercise and most of all unconditional love,” Mayor Baker said. “We know there are issues in Isaac, just like other areas across Australia and we are reviewing the way we are doing things.
“Council are also exploring the commencement of a Dog Control Advisory Committee that will oversee the success of the program with details to be discussed at December’s Council Meeting.” If you own a dog please be responsible and make sure it’s registered, micro-chipped, properly fenced and cared for. Residents can visit www.isaac.qld.gov.au/dog-registration or their local Council office to fill out the registration form and make payment.

Authorisation to undertake water meter reads is under Section 37 of the Water Supply (Safety & Reliability) Act 2008. Council has launched MiWater, a website where you can sign up to receive water consumption information. You can set email and SMS alerts and be notified of water leaks and high consumption within days of occurrence, see www.isaac.qld.gov.au/miwater. School News Clermont State High School SAVE THE DATE Next year will see Clermont State School and Clermont State High School’s introduction of Stymie, an anonymous online bullying reporting site.
Rachel will give you tips on how to manage kids’ devices and which apps can potentially create problems in the lives of students and parents everywhere.
Rachel Downie from Stymie will come to both schools in Week 2 of Term 1 to educate students on what bullying is and how to report bullying using www.stymie.com.au.
The parent session will be at Clermont State High School at 6pm on January 30, 2018.

School Holiday Programs
Clermont Library staff wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
The School Holiday Prgrams will continue on Thursday January 4, 2018.
Enjoy the festive season and stay safe if travelling on the road.
SRC craft/activities will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10am to 11am.
A good way to combat driver fatigue is listening to an audiobook, whether it's on CD or in digital format.
Lego Bulidng/Tech & Gadget sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 11am.
Library staff are happy to assist members to borrow digital audiobooks.
These holiday programs are suited to primary school age children and bookings are essential.

Summer Reading Club (SRC) runs from December 1, 2017 through to January 31, 2018.
Bookings are essential for all library programs and events. Call the Clermont Library on 4846 3746.
Children can register online through the Clermont Library and receive a SRC goodies pack and passport.
Parents please note, children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times when visiting the library, including during organised programs.
Passports will be stamped on completion of an activity and children receive a bonus prize. The 2017 SRC theme is 'Game On' celebrating the Australian sporting culture, teammateship and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Baby Bounce, Storytime, Craft and Rhymetime The Clermont Library runs several weekly children’s sessions. They are a good way to connect with other parents with young children. Rhymetime and Craft This is held from 9.30am to 10am every Tuesday for children up to five years old, where they can sing and dance to nursery rhyme songs. Baby Bounce Come along on Thursday from 9.30am to 10am and is aimed at children aged up to two years. Baby Bounce is a chance for parents to interact with their child through movement, music and song.

Yoga A class for everyone! For ages 5 and up to 90 or more. You will learn breathing exercises and positions that can help improve arthritic symptoms, insomnia, blood pressure, mood and aid with relaxation and flexibility. This class is suitable for pregnant women, screening will be conducted prior to participation. BOOKINGS FOR YOGA ARE ESSENTIAL. $16.50 for casuals. $6.60 for children up to 14 years. Power Yoga is not suitable for children under 10 years of age. BOOT 45 to 60 minute fusion of cardio, strength, balance and flexibility. Three levels of intensity to suit all fitness levels.

This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
