EVENT SHOWCASES CLERMONT’S COMMUNITY SPIRIT The Clermont Show - the Isaac Region’s Show did not fail to send attendees’ sneses into overdrive last week. From the rocking music blaring from the rides; the smell of wood fired pizza and dagwood dogs; the brightly coloured slushie cups dangling from every neck; the knee-high roosters with their accompanying crow; to a pumpkin weighing in at whopping 144kgs, thousands were treated to a dazzling experience. From Monday, 27 to Wednesday, 29 June, hundreds of competitors were showcasing their skills, produce or their livestock, hoping to take home a coveted coloured ribbon. Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said the Clermont Show – the Isaac Region’s Show emphasises the best the region has to offer. “Local producers got the chance to show off the quality of their stock and produce, highlighting the finest in rural living and celebrating the people at our core,” Mayor Baker said. The Beef Dinner was the prestigious event of the week, with the best cattle producers in the region awarded at the presentation during the night. Mayor Baker said the quality of the winners was exceptional this year.

“Well done to the taste test winners Star of Hope, St Omer and Greenvale. “I would also like to offer my congratulations to Carl and Andrea Moller, who were awarded life membership for their many years of contributions to the Clermont Show.” Mayor Baker wanted to give her compliments to everyone who participated. “We have so many wonderfully talented farmers, artists, showjumpers, exhibitors and woodchoppers, really proving the pure people power of the Isaac.” Following the special 150-year anniversary event in 2018, this years’ show continued to delight, with fireworks and a motocross display a highlight for many on Tuesday night. “The kids especially enjoyed the reptile show and the pig racing,” Mayor Baker said. “On top of all the great activities and rides, I am constantly amazed at the large community involvement each year.
