HAVE YOUR SAY ABOUT MONASH LODGE’S FUTURE IN CLERMONT Residents are encouraged to discuss openly about the future use of a place known as the centrepiece of aged care services in Clermont at the 2020 Monash Lodge InfoShare next week. Isaac Regional Council, which owns the building that sits on Queensland Government land, is looking at two key themes on Thursday, 13 February 2020 from 5.30pm at 15 Monash Street. The first will be to reinvigorate delivery of aged care services from the centre to align with the purpose of the reserve, the heritage of the facility and provide benefit to the community. The second is should this not be successful, to broaden the scope of potential future uses, programs and services that could be provided at the centre to ensure utilisation of facility that would also provide benefit to the needs of the Clermont community. The community’s ideas and thoughts to the above themes and working with other participants to assess ideas and options will help re-energise the facility. and agricultural town of Clermont since 1990. “The lodge was a place where loved ones received the care they needed,” she said. “More than 12 months ago with the opening of the new Montcler facility at Clermont Base Hospital, Queensland Health discontinued its services from Monash Lodge. “It was a very well used facility however there are limitations in the building design and operation that impact its functionality and service capacity. “In order to better understand and develop a plan to address these limitations, Isaac Regional Council is asking the community what they would like to see the lodge’s future. “We need to understand the gaps in meeting current community needs and what needs and services the facility should meet in the future.” Share your thoughts and ideas online at Council’s website or pick up a hardcopy from your local Council office or local library, or better yet, come along to the 2020 Monash Lodge Infoshare at 5.30pm on Thursday, 13 February 2020 at 15 Monash Street, Clermont.
